(talk page stalker) If you are referring to 107.145.77.108's reversion of your edit at List of law schools attended by United States Supreme Court Justices, not only was it appropriate and correct, I have repeated it. Gorsuch did not attend Columbia Law School as you claimed at that article; he received his BA from Columbia University College. Do not request that other editors be blocked for correcting your errors. General Ization Talk 20:55, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

John Dummer Band

Hi, before you reverse my undoing of your reverse of my changing the LP's title again, please visit [[1]] - Thanks in advance! :-) StefanWirz (talk) 06:14, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi StefanWirz - thanks for the message.
When I started the article, I think I based the discography on The Tapestry of Delights Revisited - which, having just checked, clearly states "John Dummer Blues Band" - so we have contradicting sources, and Discogs is NOT a reliable source as determined by the WP:Reliable sources noticeboard here.
Do you have a reliable source we can cite? as Vernon Joynson is normally considered reliable (although he does make a few mistakes, but in a 978 page A4 book that is inevitable). It also seems odd that John Dummer didn't correct it when he edited the article himself in April 2012. - Arjayay (talk) 07:27, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
The most reliable source to me is the LP itself --- look at the front and the back cover and both labels, where on all these "sources" it's written "John Dummer Band" - nothing else! If this isn't a "reliable source" for Wikipedia, there obviously is something wrong with the Wikipedia rules, methinks! But I don't care anymore - I used to fight about deletions/false "corrections" of my entries a few years ago and finally (after a few "victories", which took me hours of my life) gave up - too many bureaucratists active here ;-) StefanWirz (talk) 09:05, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Addendum: You can see the front and the back cover and both labels of that LP (Mercury SMCL 20167) on my (recently reconstructed) Jo Ann Kelly discography at [[2]] StefanWirz (talk) 09:13, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
other addenda: "Don't follow leaders, watch the pawkin' metaws" (Bob Dylan) and "Die Wissenschaft, sie ist und bleibt, was Einer ab vom Andern schreibt" (Eugen Roth) ;-) StefanWirz (talk) 09:16, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Final addendum (for today): Tilch, K.D.: Rock LPs 1955-1970. Bd. 1: A-E. 3. erw. Aufl. Hamburg: Taurus Press, 1990, p. 470 has it as "John Dummer Band" StefanWirz (talk) 09:24, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi StefanWirz - thanks for those sources - although, as you may have noticed, I left your last revert standing, despite my comments about Discogs.
I know what you mean about "victories" I only usually "fight" deliberate promotion (particularly organized sockpuppetry) and ethnicity/caste/language warring - most of my time is spent on spelling mistakes and petty vandalism at recent changes. Enjoy - Arjayay (talk) 12:24, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

You added an openly editable facebook page, which is, therefore, not a reliable source This has taken me some time to read, but does not appear to even cover the point you have repeatedly tried to push.
You have already had numerous warnings and some final warnings about Unsourced information and Unreliable sources.
You apologized to me above, and I accepted it, but warned you "Please be careful with your edits in future, as your Talk-page includes three final warnings."
I don't know why you have a fixation on Vizag being 8th not 10th, but if you add any more unreliable sources I will ask for you to be blocked. - Arjayay (talk) 13:22, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Sre arjayay , I deleted Hindi name form Bardhaman, Siliguri etc article in English Wikipedia.Cause Bardhaman and siliguri is Bengal' city and lived in Bengali people in this city.Bengali language is mejor language in this city .so English and Bengali language name writing this article not Hindi language.Shuvendu , (talk ) —Preceding undated comment added 08:26, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Shuvendu, you are clearly here on a crusade to promote Bengali - which is not the Neutral point of view that we require of editors - and why I have already warned you on your talk-page about language-warring.
As I am sure you are aware, The Constitution of India does not give any language the status of "National Language", however, Article 343 (1) of the Constitution of India states "The Official Language of the Union government shall be Hindi in Devanagari script"
Removing the official language of any country, to replace it by a regional language, is not acceptable - adding a legally recognized regional language after the official language, is (usually) acceptable. - Arjayay (talk) 15:34, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I am new to Wikipedia and am sorry if I use the Talk page in the wrong way.

I really want to keep the external links that you removed in Alma (french artist) article. They are the source material for the article and hence also function as references. The links that are pointing to YouTube videos are videos uploaded by the copyright holder and there can hence be no copyright violation.

Where does it say in Wikipedia rules that external links are not allowed in the body text. And if that is true, why is it then possible to create them in the body text? I have put down many hours of work to collect these external links and want to have them easily reached from the article. You mention that they need to be collected in a special "external link section". If that is the only option, I ask you to help me create such a section and show how I should move all my external links and refer to them from the corresponding place in the body text? You can reach me either on my talk page or via my mail dickefix@hotmail.com. DickeFix (talk) 14:47, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi DickeFix Please read Wikipedia:External links as already linked on your talk page. The guideline is very clear.
Not only should External links not be used in the body of an article, but in an "External links" section, but "Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum"
Some of the links you added could be made into references (see Help:Referencing for beginners), but there are an excessive number of them and they also appear promotional, and do not present a neutral point of view.
Please understand, we are NOT very interested in what Alma, her publisher, manager, agent, friends or anyone else related to her, has to say about her. We are only really interested in what reliable independent sources have to say about her, as they are likely to be neutral.
Finally, I notice that all of your edits, except the posts above, are to that one article. This suggests you may well have a conflict of interest in writing about Alma - if so please read, and follow our conflict of interest guidelines. If you are writing this as part of your job, you are deemed to be a paid editor so need to make the appropriate declaration. - Arjayay (talk) 15:29, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi Arjayay. Thank you for your detailed reply. I can insure you that I have no connection with Alma except that I like her singing and think it is an artist that deserves to be internationally recognized. This work is not paid in any way. I just want to share the information I collected during many hours researching the internet with others. I work as a researcher in my professional life and have tried to make the article as unbiased and objective as possible. The external links are my references to reliable independent sources and if they are not allowed as external links, I will have to put them as references instead. Unreliability of sources at Madhesi people

Please check the reliability of sources at Madhesi people section:History, subsection:Some Theories. Since the source is unavailable to view and the claim seems like a secession theory, you need to intervene at the article and also at Raj Darbhanga where it contains same secessionist looking theory as part of history. These secessionist theory needs cleanup and supervised regularly as an impactful brainwashing activity is going on by few Madhesi people. The upside down comment

Here's how that happened: I added by clicking on the "Edit", and made a new section manually, instead of "Ask a question". I did this because

1. I wanted to preview it, but you can't with Ask a question.

2. Every time, the Ask a question page comes out somewhat garbled (wrong positioning, superimposed) on my iPhone (i0s 10.2). It's the only WP page I've found that does this.

If you't tell me how to get it to you, I'll send you a screenshot of the incorrect numbers.

Thanks for the tip on avoiding resetting numbers.deisenbe (talk) 16:57, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Located wording

Is the wording located wrong here and also at here?--Vin09(talk) 04:18, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi Vin09
It is not "wrong", it is just unnecessary - what does "Jammalamadugu is located on National Highway 67 (India)." tell us, that "Jammalamadugu is on National Highway 67 (India)." doesn't tell us?
Some editors use lots of padding:- "in the month of April" instead of "in April", or "in the year 2017" instead of "in 2017" - and other editors remove this - as User:Naniwako said "tightened language".
I think articles are better without superfluous words - I wouldn't edit an article just to remove "located" or "situated", but might remove them if I was editing an article for other reasons; however, I have edited an article just to remove about 6 uses of "in the month of" in one paragraph. - Arjayay (talk) 08:09, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for info.--Vin09(talk) 08:11, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Hello, unregistered editor from Spartanburg
The Mickey Mouse article uses Template:Infobox character which does not have a parameter for signature. Although there are ways to add parameters, this is not normally recommended.
However, I am not sure what the copyright situation of such a signatures is, and this would need resolving before it could be uploaded.
I suggest you ask at either Wikipedia:Help desk or Wikipedia:Teahouse, but not both, or you may be reprimanded. - Arjayay (talk) 08:27, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

How do I find my personal statistics?

The things you get barnstars for. I could not find them searching in Help.

Also, there used to be an outside tool to do a global search for all edits for a user, but it broke and I don't know a way to do it.

I'm thinking of applying to be an administrator. I want to know if someone looks me up as an editor of WP, what they will find. I mean more than what's at the top of the Contributions page.

Many thanks. deisenbe (talk) 09:31, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi User:deisenbe - I'm not sure what you mean by "The things you get barnstars for" - and I don't see any barnstars on your User or User talk pages.
This summary of your edits may be what you are thinking of - this shows that over 10% of your edits have been to your own user page, and your recent activity has been fairly low-key.
I don't know what you would want to use the admin tools for, but I don't see that you have made any edits at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, Wikipedia:Requests for page protection, Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents or Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring - the usual areas covered by admins.
Your Abuse filter log here shows that you had some warnings in 2009, but that is a very long time ago.
There are several other lists/charts that people can see. This shows the people you have thanked whilst this shows the people who have thanked you, and this shows your voting in Articles for deletion discussions, which is another area you do not seem to have participated in.
Please remember I am not an Admin, and they have more tools to search your editing history. I think you need to be clear exactly what you would use the admin tools for, and show how your existing editing, in those areas, is being held back by not having the tools. - Arjayay (talk) 10:25, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi regarding Tunisha sharma's age and her birth date

Please know the facts Regarding Tunisha sharma. Tunisha Sharma is a Child actress. And her birthday is on 4th January 2002. Her age is 15 cause she herself had made it clear on her Twitter,Instagram, and facebook during her birthday on Jan 4th this year by posting a birthday cake picture and hashtag of #15 as her age..Also please remove the reference article of Bolly Bindass which has given her fake age as 18..Gosh! like really! Also Had contacted them to change but no response itself. And also Tunisha's co-star recently stated to punjabi media that he(damanpreet Singh and Tunisha sharma both are in 9th std.. it's on youtube that punjabi interview where he stated he and Tunisha are in 9th. So add her correct age in wiki.😊

Hi Chrissymad - No I don't mind at all - as I said at Talk:Tunisha Sharma they were not the best sources, but they were consistent. No age does not violate WP:BLP, but a wrong one probably does.
As you probably know we have a lot of trouble with the ages of actors/actresses and singers/musicians - I was at university with a "notable" musician, who was 2 months older than me, until he joined a band and he was suddenly 3 years younger than me.... - Arjayay (talk) 17:45, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

Your revert

Your revert here was both improper, and failed to supply an edit summary as to your thinking.--2604:2000:E016:A700:D131:8257:C621:FA4F (talk) 11:53, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Attributions of religion need a statement from the person that they are of that religion - I do not see that in the cited source. You can say he "was born to a Jewish family", provided that is properly sourced, but on Wikipedia that does not make him Jewish unless he states that he is Jewish - Arjayay (talk) 11:57, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
First -- you never responded to my concern about you failing to use an edit summary.
Second -- your construct asserts that the people (still people, note) in his family are Jewish. So it is of the same ilk. In any event, we have multiple RS sources -- good enough to say that a person is, say, a murderer or has AIDS, saying that he is Jewish.
Third -- worse yet, you marked your "no edit summary" revert "m," for "minor. When it certainly was not minor. That's misleading.
Plus -- you reverted a great deal of material that had zero to do with that. With no explanation. None. Still none. And no edit summary.--2604:2000:E016:A700:D131:8257:C621:FA4F (talk) 12:00, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Restoring banned editor's edits

Regarding your unexplained revert

I think you know that you're restoring the edits of the community-banned editor Fangusu because I think we've had this conversation before. However, if not, now you know. Of course you're allowed to do so, but it would be wise for you to notate this in your edit summary. On the other side of the coin, I should have noted "reverting block evasion" in my own revert summary; I'm aware this was my error just in case you were thinking about pointing it out. Cheers. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:41, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Ivanvector - Thanks for the heads up - I didn't realise this was Fangusu - who I associate with children's topics such as The Illustrated Mum and Love Me, Love My Mouse.
The problem with reverting ALL of the edits by a sock of a blocked user, is that we can "throw the baby out with the bathwater". The phrase I re-deleted; "and are possibly still played in rural areas" is just unsourced speculation - so it should not be in the article.
If you think it should be reinstated, because Fangusu should not be seen to "win", then please restore it - although re-adding it would contravene WP:BURDEN, "The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material". - Arjayay (talk) 15:23, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
I've just left a note - below - remarking among other things as to the fact that just now you failed to leave an edit summary. Where the reason for your edit is certainly not intuitive. The fact that an editor in this string just raised the same point to you may serve to suggest to you that an edit summary would be a good think to consider in the future. Please note WP:FIES ... especially "It is considered good practice to provide a summary for every edit, especially when reverting (undoing) the actions of other editors or deleting existing text; otherwise, people may question your motives for the edit." 2604:2000:E016:A700:D131:8257:C621:FA4F (talk) 11:58, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones - Arjayay (talk) 12:02, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps I can explain the distinction. You Reverted material. I did not. Please note the reference in what I quoted to "reverting." Plus -- the rationale for my change -- simply adding an inline -- is obvious. To anyone. I'm sure we can bring in admins to discuss whether they agree or not. Your change, in contrast, did not have an obvious rationale. And you still have failed to provide any rationale for the majority of your revert. 2604:2000:E016:A700:D131:8257:C621:FA4F (talk) 12:05, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Sandbox vandalized by an anonymous user

Hi Arjayay, I am here to tell you that my sandbox draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Xinyang_Aliciabritney/sandbox7 seems to have been vandalized by this anonymous user 210.72.20.5 over the past 1 - 2 days. I could tell that it was spam because this user didn't undo my edits at all, but instead he/she only seem to be interested to destroy all my draftworks by messing up the lists, deleting and inserting words in hyperlinks, making ridiculous adjustments to "rowspan" and "colspan" and at one point he/she has even removed my citacion reference from my sandbox. He/she DID NOT provide any valid reasons for the spam at all, which is why I am very shocked and disturbed by what this user has done to me.

Just imagine the number of hours, weeks and months for you to complete your draft for an new article but it has ended up being vandalized by an unknown user and he/she refuse to explain his/her reasoning for the spam. I can understand that other editors have the right to undo my edit if I am caught with copyright violation, which I strongly believe isn't the case here.

I have just checked this anonymous user's editing history and he/she hasn't been active from editing on Wikipedia for more than a year, which is why I believe that he/she may just be a troll. The fact that he/she was so quick to vandalize my sandbox drafts AGAIN within hours after my previous edits makes me suspect that I am already on his/her watchlist. May I know what should I do next? Is there anything that you can assist me with in this scenario? Do you think that you can leave a warning message on his/her talk page? I have NEVER encounter any editors spamming my sandbox draftworks before, which is why I had to turn on my cap lock when I tried to revert his/her spam edits. I hope you can offer my your best advice on this situation, thank you. Xinyang Aliciabritney (talk) 10:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Xinyang Aliciabritney - In case you haven't run an IP check, that IP is registered to "Computer network information center", "China Science and Technology Network", Bejing.
As with any large Network, I suspect that the earlier edits (several of which look quite good) were not by the same person, the exact IP being re-allocated by the Network.
Yes you are perfectly entitled to issue a vandalism notice on that IPs talk page, although sometimes a polite request works better than a standard template.
If you are unaware of the range of warning notices, please see Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. These warnings need to be start at level vandal 1, or vandal 2, (2 in this case, as it is clearly not a mistake) and escalate until they have been issued with, and ignored, a level 4 warning, when you can issue a block request at WP:AIV
However, if it is a troll, they will enjoy the attention they are receiving, so may step up their actions in response to your warnings. One of the best ways of dealing with trolls is just to revert their edits, without any comment, (see WP:DENY) which you can do by editing the last version of the page before their vandalism.
I note you continued editing before reverting their edits, so assume you did not notice their changes until after you had made several edits? Have you included your sandbox pages on your watchlist? - I have all of mine, and my archives, on my watchlist, which is the first thing I check at the beginning of an editing session, and it is then obvious if someone has tampered with them.
As you know, I am not an admin, but if you want me to issue them a warning, in order to distance yourself, please let me know. - Arjayay (talk) 11:02, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Noted your explanation, I am not sure what I should do here; whether to issue a warning template or simply just ignore them. Yes, you were right that I didn't notice the vandalism in the first place until I had made several edits. But I have already undo all of their edits by explaining the reason for it. I wish to distance myself from this to avoid potentially getting myself into any trouble, so I trust and respect you to handle this for me since I believe you have more experience into this issues than me. However, the only thing I will do now is to spend some times reading those guidelines that you have given to me. Thanks again. Xinyang Aliciabritney (talk) 11:12, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Difficult to advise whether to warn or ignore. You didn't notice the IPs edits on 10 May, so s/he continued on 11 May - now that their edits have been reverted, they may just stop - or enjoy the fact that they have made you cross.
If it happens again just click the last "clean" version in the page history, then click "edit" on that old version. It will warn that you are editing an old version, but just carry on without passing any comment. When you save, it will wipe out their changes, as if you hadn't noticed them - which trolls hate. - Arjayay (talk) 11:28, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Since the edits could be done by more than 1 person, the next person that tried to vandalize my drafts may simply ignore my reasons for the reversion so they may continue to carry on their spamming. Even if I blocked them for 1 month or 1 year they may try to evade the blocking by using VPN to continue the spams. But even if I blocked them from editing on proxy server, they will simply wait until block expiry before they start vandalizing again. I think it is funny that they have never made any edits for the past 1 year but suddenly out of nowhere they decided to spam my sandbox page. Just wondering if they are monitoring my edits for other sandbox or articles that I edit elsewhere.......... Xinyang Aliciabritney (talk) 11:38, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't know how many IPs "Computer network information center", "China Science and Technology Network" has, probably thousands, but only it took me a few seconds to find another IP that has been used here.
There is nothing we can do about IPs being reallocated, or users deliberately using another IP. Because we would be blocking all users, not just the vandals, IPs are rarely blocked for more than a few days. Trolling is one of the weaknesses of being "The encyclopedia that anyone can edit" and some people get strange satisfaction from trolling - Arjayay (talk) 11:53, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Yes the disambig went red so I removed it. Must have been something to do with the moving of the article by by Graham87. What makes you think the parameter is unsupported? [3]? Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:15, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Doc James The parameter came up in red "unknown parameter "complications" (this message is shown only in preview)" at the top of the preview page, when I went to save. I have just re-checked this and if I "show preview" a blank edit on that version - it still comes up in red - seems we have some oddities on this page Arjayay (talk) 18:24, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
Hum. I guess that tool is not working. Wonder why? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:25, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
Doc James Don't know, but I've just checked a blank edit on the current page which still comes up with "Warning: Page using Template:Infobox medical condition with unknown parameter "complications" (this message is shown only in preview)." - hopefully it will sort itself out - Arjayay (talk) 18:27, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
That is not the template used however. The template is Template:Infobox medical condition (new) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:28, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Not vandalism

Hello! I assure you that my edits to the '100 greatest Britons' page that you reverted were not vandalism, and I intend to repeat them. The allegation that Cromwell even intended or attempted, let alone committed 'genocide' in Ireland is hugely controversial, offensive to many, and highly POV. if you have a look at the Wiki article and talk pages on Cromwell himself you'll see what I mean. Also, James Connolly was only a 'resistance leader' if you subscribe to Marxist theories of class conflict. If Lenin's career had been cut short before he achieved power, it's unlikely that he would have been described as a 'resistance leader'.91.85.208.0 (talk) 14:39, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

I notice I was the third different editor to revert your changes as non-NPOV - continuing to make changes contrary to consensus will get you blocked. Your statement "I intend to repeat them" shows a combative attitude that we wish to avoid - Please discuss this at Talk:100 Greatest Britons before editing the page again - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 18:39, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

You have the wrong end of the stick. I have not 'made the same edits 3 times' , as you will see if you actually look at the record of changes. I have put a note on the telk page of 100 greatest Britons, explaining my edits, but, since I'm NOT engaged in an ongoing dispute with another editor, I see no reason to wait for a response before making my edits.91.85.208.0 (talk) 17:58, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Shared IP

One of a number of shared IPs that goes via head office that can be used by 1000s of staff. Some people might be using it for COI edits, others aren't (mine on Ice Hockey for example). I, for example, do have a Wiki account, but am unable to log insecurely via work. Don't reply as I may be on a completely different IP tomorrow. 194.28.127.55 (talk) 02:53, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

We have no problem with you using your company's computers for editing (although they may object) provided they are not used for COI edits.
In particular "if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. "
"Receiving or expect to receive compensation" includes undertaking the edits as any part of your paid employment.
The COI warning notices placed on the user pages used for these edits (which have since been deleted by User:194.28.127.55 from User talk:194.28.127.55) explain what you should be doing to update the article. - Arjayay (talk) 09:41, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
Again, there is no "you" on this IP, or any of the others that come via our shared server (at least 20) - any one user from among 1000's may be on THIS IP today and may be on a completely different IP tomorrow, and many different users might be showing as on the same IP at any one time. Our servers are in Manchester, but users are spread across the country. I personally (for example) have never edited the articles you mentioned, and as such having the COI template would not only be useless, but would be full of incorrect information. (And I've just noticed I've "jumped" IPs (servers) during the shift, as I started on the one above in the original message). 194.28.124.54 (talk) 01:40, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
Notice you did this again. Please stop. 194.28.127.54 (talk) 02:49, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Yes YOU do need to stop breaking Wikipedia's Terms of use - or perhaps we should just delete the article? - Arjayay (talk) 21:09, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)IP, something you may want to consider is creating a second account, CLEARLY LINKED TO YOUR PRIMARY, that you use only when at work. see WP:VALIDALT for more information, and especially the following section WP:ALTACCN for what you'd need to do to link the accounts. Otherwise, Arjayay is correct - a few people not following Wikipedia policies can cause problems for other users. It's a shared IP address so yes, there will be communication intended for someone who was using it previously. That's not going to stop as it's often the only way other editors can try to directly communicate with a problematic editor. Not fun when it causes you problems, but it is what it is. Advice

Greetings Arjayay!

Do you know what steps I can take if someone keeps removing information from Wikipedia pages without any source or reason?

AlaskaLava 19:27, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi AlaskaLava - an example of what you are talking about would be helpful, but, in general, provided the information that is being removed is both relevant, and sourced to a reliable source, then repeated removal would probably be WP:Disruptive editing.
Have you tried discussing these edits with the editor, either on their talk page, or the article talk page?
If you have tried this, but received no response, then you should issue a series of warning notices, please see Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace.
These warnings need start at level 1 or 2, do not just jump in at level 4, and escalate until the editor has been issued with, and ignored, a level 4 warning, when you can issue a block request at WP:AIV
As I say, an example of the disruptive editing you are referring to would help my advice. - Arjayay (talk) 16:45, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply AlaskaLava. It's about a user named Habar Awal king. Who is removing sourced information of :: multiple pages for example, Awdal, Awbere, Dilla, Lughaya ,Gadabuursi and Faafan Zone page.
Multiple times have I asked him to turn to the Talk page so we can discuss this, but he just ignores my requests.
So should I issue a series of warnings? - - AlaskaLava , 19:45, 14 May 2017
Having looked at several edits by Habar Awal king he appears to be replacing one piece of unsourced information, with another.
As the information he is removing is not sourced to a reliable source, the person repeatedly re-adding it - you and an IP - are equally "at fault" as he is.
The WP:BURDEN "of verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material" (My bold).
The one source I have seen him remove is a reference to Google Books, but I cannot see the information supposedly supported by the reference, on the Google books extract. This is not to say anyone is wrong - Google books do not always show the same pages to each viewer, so the information he is removing may be there, but not on the pages I can see.
Before issuing any warnings, you need to be sure that all the information you are re-adding has a reliable source, or your complaints may backfire - please see WP:BOOMERANG - Arjayay (talk) 17:12, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
I wanted to provide my evidence in the talk page, but he ignores my requests.
Can you please show me which unsourced information?
In regards to the Awdal region, Dilla town and Lughaya I can assure you that the Gadabursi inhabit those and are the majority with a minority presence of the Issa (clan) clan. If you feel I'm being biased or lying please do type in Google Books the following words "Awdal" and "Clan"
The Gadabuursi also partially live in the Woqooyi Galbeed region, particularly in the Gabiley district, multiple sources mention that and even I.M Lewis in his book ""A Pastoral Democracy"" mentions the Gadabuursi to live in the Gebile district(Gebile district is part of the region called ""Woqooyi Gableed"". On the Gabilay page he completely removed the Gadabuursi part.
Some sources for you, and I quote
1 . "the major town of the Rer Mohamoud Nur" [4]
2. ""Awdal is mainly inhabited by the Gadabuursi confederation of clans and partially in the region of Galbeed in the Gabiley district"" [5]:::
3. Distribution of Sa'ad Muuse (Habar Awal) and Gadabuursi in the region of Gebile (Gebile district)[6]
- - AlaskaLava , 21:53, 14 May 2017
Hi AlaskaLava - sorry for the sudden silence, but I was called away on a real-life emergency.
I see that, in the interim, both Habar Awal king and User:80.4.136.59 have been blocked for 2 days for edit warring and breaking the rule.
I note that the IPs edits were very similar to yours, so I hope that the IP was not you editing whilst logged out, as a WP:Checkuser can see if there is any connection.
Assuming there is no connection, you still need to be careful, as you made seven deletions at Awdal yesterday, far more than the 3 revert limit allowed by WP:3RR
3RR only allows "Reverting obvious vandalism—edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking and adding offensive language." which is not what you were reverting, so you were edit-warring too.
You have stated above ' I can assure you that the Gadabursi inhabit those and are the majority with a minority presence of the Issa (clan) clan. If you feel I'm being biased or lying please do type in Google Books the following words "Awdal" and "Clan" '
This is not how Wikipedia works, your "assurances" are not verifiable in a reliable source, and we do not expect any reader to have to do Google searches - the citations must be in the article.
I see you added your first source to the Dilla article, after the edit-warring had stopped - this is what you need to do, as you can then revert, and warn, editors for deleting sourced information, which is considered "disruptive editing", whereas deleting unsourced information is sometimes acceptable.
Having been blocked, albeit for only 2 days, Habar Awal king needs to be more careful. If, on his return, he continues, he could be issued with a level 3 or level 4 warning, for "continuing the same disruption on return from a block" if he still continues, he could be reported to WP:AIV.
Although I am watching his edits, I cannot do this all the time, and he tends to edit in the evening, when I am often not around. - Arjayay (talk) 11:29, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Reg-Education in Nizamabad

As far as the education is concerned IIIT Basar (RGUKT, Basar) though situated at a distance from the city, it is a major university catering the needs of students of Nizamabad and also Telangana State. The nearest major city and railway station to IIIT Basar is Nizamabad. So I think it was necessary to add that data in Education Section. And as far your revision cited This article is about Nizamabad, not things 35km away, Its like telling This article is about Hyderabad, not the Airport located 25 kms from city. Both education and transportation plays a significant role. I hope you understand bro. You are a senior member you know better than me.--Rizwanmahai (talk) 19:22, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Earlier there was a similar discussion at Talk:Guntur/Archive_1#AAIIMS. The education institution which you mentioned should go into district page. The Hyderabad example is not correct because the airport is a part of HMDA. But that institution lies completely in another settlement with not even an outgrowth or neighborhood. I know your efforts in Nizamabad page, but if you add now, new users and IPs will add more of them. Please go through our point.--Vin09(talk) 18:02, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Possible vandalism on Lakshmi article

Hi IM3847 I have added that page to my watchlist, and warned the IP about similar unsourced additions at Bhūmi. I see you added a "welcome" to the IP's user talk page, which is good, but perhaps a "welcome unsourced" warning would have been better - you could then escalate the warnings until the IP has ignored a level 4 warning, when you could have reported the IP to WP:AIV for disruptive editing. For more information about the warnings, please see Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace - Arjayay (talk) 15:38, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Lincoln McAlisters edit crossroads

Hello I noticed you reversed my edits,I admit I took some liberties in the descriptions but there are definitely things missing out of the plot description,do you KNOW the film at all?there a things missing which are I believe crucial to the plot and therefore the plot description was edited.SUCH AS the reason Willie was in jail, he wasn't just put there, he called Eugene Lightning,The hayloft...there was an arrest which is missing from the plot, before Francis abandons them there's an incident at a motel, not there,Eugene does think he's losing the guitar contest,Willie does hand him a mojo bag....missing from plot.I notice you're a master editor and film school?Try actually watching the film...and please in the future it would be polite to contact someone when you alter their changes..thankyou Lincoln McAlister (talk) 21:01, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Lincoln McAlister - as explained in my edit summary the reason I reverted your edits was WP:PLOTBLOAT. As that explains, "Plot summaries for feature films should be between 400 and 700 words". Before you started, the plot was 646 words, but you added 100 words, taking it well over the 700 word limit. If you think there are things missing then please add them, but remove other, less important, parts of the plot to keep within the parameters.
Although it would be "polite" to contact someone when you alter their changes, this is NOT a Wikipedia requirement, and I often do 150 or more edits in a day. I always leave an edit summary, such as WP:PLOTBLOAT in your case, which explains the reasons - or, if they are more complicated, I will leave an explanation, or warning, on the editor's talk page - Arjayay (talk) 10:13, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Crossroads

OK at this point I have to say I did not know there was a 700 word limit,I should have been more informed.I will make a few little additions. Thanks for the feedback Lincoln McAlister (talk) 12:41, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Lincoln McAlister - No worries - Wikipedia has had to develop lots of rules and guidelines, and a Manual of style to try and give a uniform appearance to its articles - I doubt anyone knows them all - I certainly don't although I have made over 125,000 edits in 9.5 years. If you have any problems, just ask - The Wikipedia:Teahouse and WP:Helpdesk are available 24/7 - Arjayay (talk) 15:25, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

List of awards and nominations received by Fifth Harmony

I've got something for you to check! This is a very important important message for you to read. As you can see the article Fifth Harmony List of Awards and Nominations has been rapidly changed by an unknown auto confirmed user! I was doing my edits and check ups to see if everything was aligned correctly and this user goes back and redoes everything that has been put into place. Now it shows them winning every award that they won which clearly did not happen because the numbers and data do not add up to the total number of wins and nominations are not equal. Please, check this out and help me stop this fraud! List of awards and nominations received by Fifth Harmony Sincerely! ... Welcometothenewmillennium 10:08, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

---WeLcOmEtOtHenEwMiLlEnIuM (Talk) 10:08, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi User talk:Welcometothenewmillenium - I'm not sure why you posted on this page - as I am not an Admin. You should have warned the IP usingan escalating scale of warnings as Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace and if they ignored a level 4 warning, reported them to WP:AIV - constantly changing IPs are slightly more difficult, but once the pattern has been established request protection at WP:RPP
I see that, in the interim, the page has been semi-protected, but only until 19:49, 31 May 2017. If possible, you should ensure that the "correct" version, including references from reliable sources, is in place by then, as any subsequent removal of cited information is fairly blatant vandalism, making blocking the IP, or requesting further page protection, easier.
When posting on user talk pages, please use the preview button, rather than making multiple minor edits, as receiving 31 e-mails, informing me of each of your edits, is rather annoying. - Arjayay (talk) 07:16, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

My last edit on that article is clearly an offense in Wikipedia, so I sincerely apologise for what I did on that article. I was trying to place all the information there temporary so that sometime later I will edit them. Probably I should have move them to my sandbox. Thanks for reminding me for my offense. Hope you are not offended.--Hongqilim (talk) 12:53, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Hongqilim There was no point in "trying to place all the information there temporary so that sometime later I will edit them" as programme schedules, timetables, guides, or whatever other name you try and use, are NOT allowed as per WP:NOTTVGUIDE and will be removed. There is, therefore, no point in working on such a schedule in your sand-box.
In addition please ensure that the additions and alterations you make are sourced to a reliable source and supported by a correctly formatted reference. Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 07:22, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Welcome.--Hongqilim (talk) 07:28, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Clean-up help!

Hello! I hope you can join in cleaning-up K-drama pages and their international broadcast sections as they are in violation of Wiki guidelines (Wiki is not a catalog/ TV guide). It's also a breeding ground for promotion from streaming sites, legal or not. It's an exclusive feature of these Korean pages, US/UK shows don't have it.

For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_Lovers:_Scarlet_Heart_Ryeo#International_broadcast It's one of the better formatted ones. The others just full-blown lists of flag icons, TV stations and broadcast time.Chiefyuks (talk) 03:22, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi Arjayay, you just deleted all of my edits to the Joshua Mintz page. The information you left is completely outdated. Please help because this becomes a total waste of everyones time. thank you Catalinacampillo (talk) 15:27, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi Catalinacampillo - As explained in my edit summary, I deleted your additions because they were totally unsourced and puffery.
Please read Help:Referencing for beginners and ensure that EVERY addition you make is sourced to a reliable source in general, these sources should be independent of Joshua Mintz and his companies.
Please avoid promotional puffery, such as "thanks to his vision and strategic leadership" "a ratings phenomenon", "the precursor of ideas that divided in two the history of telenovelas", "He worked towards the optimization of the process development-to-air" and much of the rest of your additions. We only want facts, any opinions must be cited to reliable, independent. sources

Finally, I note that all of your edits have been to that one article, which, together with the promotional language, suggests that you may have a conflict of interest in editing that article. If so, please read and follow our guidance - such as at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. If you are being paid to make these edits, or doing them as part of your job, our terms of use require you to make a Paid-contribution disclosure - Arjayay (talk) 15:46, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

hello Arjajay i noticed you have removed my edits to the page on "Gulgula", citing it is as poorly referenced. Please let me know why you feel it is so. You may have noted that it contains links to other articles within and outside of Wikipedia. Hi Raj8Prasad - firstly, please put new posts at the bottom, with a section heading, not inside an earlier discussion further up the page, and please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp
As for Gulgula (doughnut), your additions were not from a neutral point of view, and included numerous opinions such as "much loved", "delectable" and "tropical paradise" - We are a boring encyclopedia, and do not use such opinions or descriptions.
Furthermore your additions were totally unsourced, Wikilinks to Wikipedia articles are NOT "references" - and you cannot use Wikipedia in a reference, as Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source.
You also added an external link to a recipe in the bodytext of the article, which we do not allow.
I will add a standard welcome template to your user talk page, explaining about references, what they are, what is acceptable and unacceptable as a reference, and how to format them. - Arjayay (talk) 15:59, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi Arjajay, Thanks for you reply. I accept the recipe was a poor reference, my intention of it inclusion was beause it contained a picture of gulgulas. I now attached below three other references, (there are many others avialable at the University of South Pacific: 1. http://www.fijitimes.com/story.aspx?id=319354 - news article on local singer from fiji who actually wrote a song on gulgulas 2. https://www.academia.edu/23262910/Rotis_on_the_rara_Lexical_nativisation_in_Fiji_English. This acticle written by Jone Mandraiwiwi is about a native fijian who is tracing his roots back to Fiji, citing his fond memories of eating indian sweets from local vendor's shop includes a reference to gulgula. Seach for "rotis on the rara" if the link does not work. Rotis on the rara losely translates to eating roti at a sporting ground, typical quick meal sold at sports ground where roti is wrapped around dry curry such as potatos and fish. 3. http://www.indianweekender.co.nz/Pages/ArticleDetails/7/7713/New-Zealand/Holithe-festival-of-colours-around-the-world. This artcile discusses the festival of holi and the significance of sweets inclduing reference to gulgula I am fine to remove opinion based emotive language, to better encapsualte the requirements of wikipedia. Please let me know what you think.(Raj8Prasad (talk) 03:46, 12 June 2017 (UTC))

Need to clear about some particular article

Hi,
I'm have doubt about an article which is semi protected by you.
The edit is saying that WP:COMMONNAME in English.
(Someone change the name Adam's peak to "Sri Padaya" which is used by the locals from centuries. It mentioned in History section also)
It will OK if the all other local names in wiki displaying COMMON NAMES in English, but it doesn't.
ex:Onsen in Japan and many.
May I know the reason to do so?
Sammmk (talk) 05:12, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi Sammmk - no the article was NOT semi-protected by me, I am not an Admin, so I cannot protect pages, but I have refused to make changes contrary to Wikipedias policies and guidelines .
The article is protected as there have been a lot of changes contrary to our policies and guidelines - particularly people trying to change "Adam's Peak" to "Sri Padaya".
As you state "We use the WP:COMMONNAME in English" - not "what the locals call it", or its "official name", just the common name in English.
This rule applies across Wikipedia, so we have Bangalore not Bengaluru, Vienna not Wien, Venice not Venezia and numerous others.
As the common name in English changes, so do our articles, we have Mumbai not Bombay and Beijing not Peking.
Although only a rough guide, an English Google search for Sri Padaya gives 109,000 matches, whereas a search for Adams Peak gives 1,960,000 - 18 times as many - so it is clear that Adams Peak is the common name in English. - Arjayay (talk) 06:34, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for reply.
then please tell me why Onsen not "Hot Spring".
Also in google map showing Sri Pada
( "Sri Pada / Adam's Peak" not only "Adam's Peak" in description)
any reasons???

Sammmk
1) There are numerous "hot springs" - that is a description, not a title for those specific springs in English.
2) Google can call the mountain whatever they want, it is their website and their rules, and it is irrelevant to what we call it here, where Wikipedia rules i.e. WP:COMMONNAME prevail
3) There is no point in you looking for examples of where our rules are broken - Other stuff exists - it does not mean we will be changing Adams Peak - Arjayay (talk) 08:32, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
Arjayay According to your answers,
1). Onsen means it's original Japanese name and the "Hot Springs" is what it called in English, not a description.
2).You mentioned some google searches which matches for Adam's peak and Sri Padaya. That's why I mentioned the google map (according to your logic).
3).I'm looking for answers not breaking rules but some original name. You cannot say there is no point, there is a point.
ex: a school boy is searching Sri padaya in wikipedia. he doesn't know other names for it. Then how he could able to find it. (It redirects to Adam's peak page, but in the header it doesn't show Sri padaya.)
My question is why the header can't say something like "Sri Pada / Adam's Peak". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sammmk (talkcontribs) 05:06, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
Sammmk - The opening line of the article is
"Adam's Peak (Sinhalese: Sri Pada or "Sri Paadaya" (ශ්‍රී පාදය) and Samanalakanda, සමනළ කන්ද;"
This seems very clear to me - and should be clear to any schoolboy, or schoolgirl
Please try and understand, there is no point in discussing this with me, I cannot change it. WP:COMMONNAME is part of WP:Article titles which is a policy, not just a guideline, and Wikipedia policies are highly unlikely to be changed. If you wish to try, then you need to be making your case at Wikipedia talk:Article titles, not here. - Arjayay (talk) 08:40, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
