RE: Volume 6 notes (You are GREAT!!!)

I'll add the citations.

  • "Keiichiro speaking about Ryou's past: "He was an international expert on umas. But on day..." pg 5 what is a uma? I was thinking horse, but not sure, since it doesnt go w/ TMM's story."
I think "UMA" is what they called alien monsters, like Chimera Anima. Not sure though.
  • "on page 18, It shows Masaya having a dream of Ichigo in danger. Then when TMM is fighting a monster, Ichigo is being attacked by it and masaya senses it (pg 28). A few pages later (page 35), The Blue Knight helps TMM fight the monster (called xeno jelly made by pie shown being made pg 24)."
  • "On page 62, when it is revealed to Ichigo the Blue Knight is masaya, he says he has dreams of Ichigo in danger (he senses her in danger). When he does, he wishes for one thing: to protect her. Directly connected to why he says he was born to protect her."
Sooo... That means, in the manga, they at least explained this thing. In the anime, they never really talk about how Masaya became the Blue Knight, and when he talks about this in episode 48 (when he is confronted by Kish and can't transform), he doesn't mention his dreams, and the whole "I was born only to protect you" thing is not really explained either. He only says that he heard Ichigo's voice, and that he can become the Blue Knight whenever Ichigo wishes for it, when she calls for him. Strange, because before that his dreams were mentioned quite often...
This is getting interesting... (I wish I had the manga...)
  • "Straw-bell bell pg 26. Shocking. They rominized it correctly. But this is the ONLY time it is."
O_O Wow.
  • "Did the Shirogane family have a maid (pg 6)?"
Not in the anime.

Again - you are great! The articles look so good with citations! 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 03:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I added citations for what was already written in the articles and just needed to be confirmed, because I'm not sure where to put other things. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk

RE

You read the new citation I put for Mint, Lettuce, Pudding and Zakuro right? Well I only put it for them because I dont have the doll of Ichigo (but I have ordered it). When get the doll, I add her bust, waist and hip measurement.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I actually have the Ichigo doll, but I threw out the box. Now I wish I kept it. XD

Weight and height

I see you have been adding these to the articles, only the formatting is worrying me: I think all should read xx cm (x feet, y inches) and x kg (x pounds). Have a look at WP:UNITS as well. Although I am from an SI orientated country, I prefer, in this case imperial measurements with SI in brackets. G.A.S 21:01, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
And I do not think it is necessary to cite the conversions. That is easy enough to do. G.A.S 21:09, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

No problem (WP:MOS - might be correct to cite it). Do have a look at WP:UNITS it provides all the guidance. The reason for imperial followed by SI is that the imperial measurements have been in use for a long time. "Source (converted)" is best though. Regards, G.A.S 21:26, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

IP blocked for 72 hours

At least I got a chance to test TWINKLE's vandal-reporting function on it. ^_^ 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 02:46, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

I'll say IP's rarely get blocked indefinitely (except for open proxies), because they can be used by different people. If the second IP appears, just go and report it - it is very obvious that it's the same person. The admins can technically block the entire range, but it is something that is done only in extreme cases (see Wikipedia:Blocking IP addresses). 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 03:19, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
This all would've been simple if it weren't for the second IP. If the person can use another IP, they can probably use much more of them - from the same ISP, which again means blocking the entire range.
Though there is a chance to get rid of this idiot - they can actually be reported to the ISP for abuse. This happens in cases of constant vandalizm from the IPs that belong to the same ISP. If it's only one person vandalizing, this wouldn't be a problem. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 04:16, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, you actually left a warning for the second IP long ago, but it doesn't really matter, because he vandalizes more than five-six pages at once, and is obviously the same person that got blocked on the first IP - I think it's quite enough to report him immediately after he vandalizes several articles. The admins will look at its contribs and see that he's doing the same thing as the first IP.
Also, this person usually re-adds his stupidity after it's been reverted - this is a bad habit! I mean, I saw this stupidity, got angry and pressed TWINKLE's "arv" tab on the IP's contribs page, and then I started reverting the edits, then I gave up, 'cause it's too many articles for me, and I left the reverting to the admins. And - before this vandal got blocked again, he actually re-added the stupidity in several articles, so the admins caught him while he was vandalizing, and they had to revert his edits again. Vandalism in progress! ^_^ Also, pay attention to the note in WP:AIV instructions - "except in unusual circumstances". Constant vandalism after several blocks may fall under this category. It is useless to warn the person who continues to vandalize after several blocks. Though another "only warning" will be a good thing.
Oh, and if the IP gets blocked at least five times (this is his third block), it may end up here, so using another IP won't help anymore. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 14:32, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

RE: I have the Japanese manga

Well, I think better cite the original manga for everything, but that will wait: we will eventually update the citations anyway. I know what needs citations right now, though: everything involving kanji/kana - i.e. names/weapons/attacks/henshins, one citation per each. I guess there's more interesting stuff to cite, but I won't be able to tell anyway until I read the manga myself (and I hope this summer I'll get a chance to read it). 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 23:48, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

In particular (currently needed):
  • The Mews' ages/grades - if they are mentioned anywhere.
  • Attacks - mostly those written in kanji (i.e. Azumi's, Pie's, and the BK's).
夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk
Heh... Each citation from Tokyopop's manga should be verified anyway, to make sure it doesn't conflict with the original - that means, we'll need citations for... citations. Yep. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 00:43, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
My opinion is that we can add the original's citations in due time, but also leave Tokyopop's, for those who want to verify something against the Manga — I guess very few people has or can even read the Japanese version. I guess after this your Kanji counter will be much higher.
Two questions I came up with:
  1. Do they list ages, foods etc as on the dolls' packaging?
  2. What do they list Mint's DNA as being infused with?
Please specify the Manga you got citations from in the comments (E) or (J)?

Wow, Azumi's attacks are rather badly translated... Tokyopop seems to like making things simplier... Then again, they are in kanji, so they are more difficult to translate than the Mews' attacks (where TP made mistakes even translating from katakana... >.<)
That reminds me... of one thing... "Indigo Comet Blade". I bet this one also has a poor translation... Can you find it in the Japanese manga?
BTW - does Tart have named attacks in the manga (like "Ho-Rai-Den" from the anime)?
夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 08:23, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Wah... poor Blue Knight... >.< I guess Tokyopop translated the first three kanji, and then decided that the attack translation would be too screwed up, so they just replaced other words with "blade" so that the translation would make sense... You are not the only one: Please see my and Yume's talk page on Content Notes. Depends on how urgent you think it is. Regards, G.A.S 06:14, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'll say this section needs rewriting anyway; same with many other comments, especially the one about the "ao" kanji. Most of them sound like OR. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 06:43, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
I still think you typed the right thing... (and I knew what you meant — I just meant there are more related issues) G.A.S 09:50, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Well can you explain it so I finnaly do something with that sentance? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 00:57, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

The sentence means that (whoever originally written it) assumes that the anime and manga is part of the same canon. Then he/she backs it up with proof(?) by saying that the writer thinks that they are canon, because she changed something in the later stories of the manga to get it in line with the anime. Since nothing is cited, it can just as well be OR. (Canon being that events in the one are assumed to be true for the other as well) Hope that helps. G.A.S 06:04, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I dont like that sentance. I'm removing it. I eventually write something better. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 11:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Now another thing:

"The third volume of the manga, which takes place after this and begins before Ichigo's birthday would have passed, states that she is now 12 years old." This was there ever since the first version; does it matter if it "begins before Ichigo's birthday would have passed" ? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 13:38, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I do not think so. Esp. since the birthday is never mentioned, this has to be OR. (or am I wrong?)
Since we are working with a primary source, we cannot make conclusions about why something is the way it is, we can merely list it.
Unfortunately that goes for the other translation errors as well — we know the English version is wrong, but we do not know whether or not it is an error or even intentional (unless we can cite someone that say it is an error — e.g. as is done with the ribbon vs. reborn translation).
RegardsG.A.S 13:47, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

another thing: should the citation of the reborn translation error be in the character articles? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 14:08, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

It is not a critical citation in the individual articles, as the note is merely an extract of the complete article. It may be provided for completeness sake, though. G.A.S 14:39, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

^_^; The references list in Ichigo's article got really long.
BTW, if a footnote is cited twice, and you comment out the original (full) citation, you'll need to comment out other citations (<ref name=something/>) as well, otherwise it'll result in an empty reference. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 19:18, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm curious. How could the original Mew's character articles get up to a B-class article? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 20:27, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Simply because they are long enough, and there isn't much to add, so most of improvement is just rewriting the existing text. ChibiChibi's article is even shorter, and it is also B-Class. To get something better, one should basically only work on rewriting/arranging what is already written, and adding sources. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 20:35, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

But: Ichigo: rated start class. Mint: rateed B-class Lettuce: start-class Pudding: start-class Zakuro: start-class. I thought Ichigo would be the one rated B-class. Why Mint's? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 20:48, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

My guess is that simply nobody bothered to change their status. I think B-Class rating can be given by an ordinary user, but you'd better ask G.A.S about this. I don't think they're still start-class. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 20:57, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

This article's entire lead section consists of a very OR-like attempt to prove that Ringo is not Ichigo's cousin ("Despite rumors and speculations by fans..."). This is something that is bad for the article in general - and it is written in the very beginning. -_-; I'm not sure whether to remove it or to move it down - and in both cases we'll have to write a new lead section... 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 17:03, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Character list

I noticed that you re-inserted the character list from the old version
I did some quick cleanup for the following reasons:
  • Removed kanji per WP:MOS-JP because it is given in the separate articles (See also Sailor Moon's list).
  • Changed it to a definition list, it just looks a way lot better. (WP:Anime#Sections point #3)
  • Removed foreign names: It is not important enough to keep in the main article, and is given in the separate articles.
  • Removed height: It is given in the separate articles.

The following still needs to be done:

  • The list seriously need rewording: Preferably the same as – or a summary of – the character's lead paragraphs.
  • The "Main characters" list should be moved to the plot section.
  • I think the headers (Protagonists, Mew Mews ,Friends, Antagonists) may be removed, and the type may be named in the individual character's paragraph.
  • Try to get it "out of universe" as well. (see WP:WAF#What's wrong with an in-universe perspective?, good luck, this is quite difficult)

RE pictures uploaded

"it is of much lower resolution than the original"
If you claim this, it will make sense to add a link on the image page to the higher resolution image, as is done with Image:Starcraft_II_screenshot.jpg

G.A.S 18:23, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Not entirely sure if it is lower resolution. It doesnt look like it, but I dont know to much about high and low resolution.

Now a thing that came to mind: The "Characters' names origin" section should be moved to a content note section. I dont how this can be cited yet, but the article woud look better if it was moved down. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 18:56, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Resolution is the size of the image, higher being a larger image. (compare the example above with the original) G.A.S 18:59, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
I am not sure about that — it makes the article less in-universe. G.A.S 18:59, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Hm. I always that it had to do something with how it looked (fuzzy or crystal clear). Now I'm not so sure if its low resolution.
? Isn't that a good thing for an article to be less in-universe? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 19:17, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
If you look at the example, its resolution is 300 × 225 pixels, so it is low resolution (see also Template:Non-free_media_rationale#_note-1 . The new uploads are also. Normally I would say the link to the higher resolution one is not needed, but you also claimed that it is "it has been willingly released to the public" so a link to that source would make sense. G.A.S 19:27, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

I have an idea. Just to I dont end up screwing up something, how about you add the template (and if its low-resolution or not). You know what I think? We use way too many pictures here on Wikipedia. I mean - to illustrate a character, 1-2 pics are enough, and we use tons of them. ([2][3][4][5])
That was actually one of my other concerns, (WP:FUC 3 (a) Minimal use. As little non-free content as possible is used in an article. Short rather than long video and audio excerpts are used. Multiple items are not used if one will suffice; one is used only if necessary.): Maybe the current pictures (same as in the articles) can be used instead of uploading more mugshots; they are quite decent) (i.e. Image:Aoyama.jpg instead of Image:Masaya1.png, etc.) Regards, G.A.S 15:55, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Not so sure why there is an issue with adding another pic. Since TMM is eventually going to be modeled after Sailor Moon since they're very similar, they have pictures just for the character section also (most of them). And speaking of that it, I think the pic of Ryou Keiichiro and Masaya in the character section have the same copyright status as Usagi pic. And the sailor moon articles use about the same number of pics. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 17:32, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Manga Credits

I noticed that you have added the credits for the manga to the article. I think this information can be presented better using a table, as it takes up a lot of space, mainly for duplicating the headers. (for an example table, have a look at List of Harry Potter films cast members). What do you think? G.A.S 16:52, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I think that it would look better, but the table looks a little confusing to me; maybe it just because the table really big. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 17:07, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

IP edits

Please go through the current edits of the IP on Tokyo Mew Mew later, but do not just undo all, although the person is re-introducing factual errors (eg. age/Kirema Anima), some of the edits are quite good.

Regarding the mug-shots: the current set are not particularly good, I think 4kids's website has better ones that can be used instead. (Although in Flash, screenshots of them can be used) G.A.S 20:28, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

They are way too small, and I really dont feel like uploading another pic. THose pics at the 4kids website dont seem to be in the range of 80px (sailor moon uses this size) to 100px (size used in serial experiments lain). THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 22:10, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Another thing: The section "Variations"; I dont like the name of the section. Can you think of another name forr this? I havent been able to THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 22:24, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Images

RE
Images in User:Angelofdeath275/tokyo mew mew manga:

I have converted the images into links as per Wikipedia:Non-free content no 9, non-free images are not allowed in userspace. I recommend re-adding the content to the specific articles until such time the new article is ready, or moving this content to Tokyo Mew Mew (manga). Regards, G.A.S 06:54, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Episode lists

List of Tokyo Mew Mew episodes 1-26, List of Tokyo Mew Mew episodes 27-52

I do not think the cleanup tags are necessary at this time, I am in fact in progress of rewriting the list here, although I would prefer to do it alone (at this time). Input on the talk page will be appreciated, though. Sincerely, G.A.S 14:29, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
