Question from Kingzwin Da Sley (08:56, 15 September 2021)
Hey, how are you doing today. I have a challenge for a question about why the image seen on a electric microscope be saved on a translucent paper --Kingzwin Da Sley (talk) 08:56, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Kingzwin Da Sley I have no idea about what are you talking about? Could you be more clear about what you want to do and what is the problem? I don't know about a random image that I don't even know its name. ahmetlii ✉ (Please ping me on a reply!) 17:47, 24 September 2021 (UTC)

Question from SlowForm on Draft:Mary Perry Stone (19:25, 1 October 2021)
Hi. Thanks for your help. I am just starting to draft a page for the first time. Is there a way to save it when it is partially done, so I can continue to work on it later? I don't want to publish it yet. Thanks. --SlowForm (talk) 19:25, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- @SlowForm you can just go ahead and create it in Draft space, and work on it before submitting. You can directly save your partly-done work via "Save changes" button, would be better with an edit summary explaining that you are still working on it, and then re-edit the page to complete your work and submit. ahmetlii ✉ (Please ping me on a reply!) 14:52, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I don't see a "Save changes" button, but there is a "Publish Page" button. Is this the same thing? So the idea is that I can't save it in a private space? As soon as I "publish" it other people can see it, even as a draft?SlowForm (talk) 21:24, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- @SlowForm Yes, when you published a page/saved an edit, it is no more private and can be seen by everyone, though not indexed on search indexers (Google, Bing, Yahoo, ...) as far as I am aware. However, if you want to create it first outside draft space, you can do it by creating a page on your userspace (it will be public again, every edit on Wikipedia is public as long as it's not deleted.). If you really want it to be private, then you can note it to somewhere on your device and then publish in Wikipedia if you think it's ready. ahmetlii ✉ (Please ping me on a reply!) 17:06, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Divya1585 No, Wikipedia editing is based on voluntary editing, with certain exceptions. Please see this page for more information. ahmetlii ✉ (Please ping me on a reply!) 08:07, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Getz at the Gate

Question from Randym56 (21:24, 30 December 2021)
I want to publish some information that does not yet appear on WIKIPEDIA.ORG - I am having difficulty finding how to begin an article rather than edit an existing one. Does this feature exist? --Randym56 (talk) 21:24, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Randym56: Hello, you need to become autoconfirmed in order to create articles in the mainspace (article namespace), by having ten edits and being registered for four days. Since you aren't autoconfirmed, you may draft an article in the draft namespace, or with your sandbox. EDM fan 2 (talk) 22:16, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

WikiCup 2022 May newsletter
The second round of the 2022 WikiCup has now finished. It was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 115 points to advance to round 3. There were some very impressive efforts in round 2, with the top seven contestants all scoring more than 500 points. A large number of the points came from the 11 featured articles and the 79 good articles achieved in total by contestants.
Our top scorers in round 2 were:
- Epicgenius, with 1264 points from 2 featured article, 4 good articles and 18 DYKs. Epicgenius was a finalist last year but has now withdrawn from the contest as he pursues a new career path.
- AryKun, with 1172 points from two featured articles, one good article and a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews.
- Bloom6132, with 605 points from 44 in the news items and 4 DYKs.
- Sammi Brie, with 573 points from 8 GAs and 21 DYKs.
- Ealdgyth, with 567 points from 11 GAs and 34 good and featured article reviews.
- Panini!, with 549 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and several other sources.
- Lee Vilenski, with 545 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and a number of reviews.
The rules for featured and good article reviews require the review to be of sufficient length; brief quick fails and very short reviews will generally not be awarded points. Remember also that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Question from Limemint71112 (18:38, 31 December 2021)

Could I translate the source code and publish it myself? Thanks for doing what you do, I didn't know new users got mentors. --Limemint71112 (talk) 18:38, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Limemint71112 Hello, you can use this tool and follow the instructions. The article will get automatically published in that language. ahmetlii ✉ (Please ping me on a reply!) 19:43, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
Question from Sinedjames on Kendall, New South Wales (09:50, 3 January 2022)
Hello the information on Kendall history is incorrect regarding its name. Kendall was originally named UPSALL after one of the first European families granted land. At some time the post office was shutdown by NSW govt after a sly grog shop was operating too close to the post office. A petition was raised by Henry Upsall to get a post office reopened. Henry Kendall had moved to the district so he was asked to add his name as a co sponsor of the petition, which was successful. The town was later renamed to Kendall in his honour. --Sinedjames (talk) 09:50, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Sinedjames Then correct it by citing a source. ahmetlii ✉ (Please ping me on a reply!) 15:30, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Question from Charlie4404 (04:13, 11 February 2022)
Hi Ahmetlii,
Thanks for being a mentor. I'd like to know if there is a way to filter topics of my choosing, such as finance and Indian taxation, and identify gaps in the topics that require improvement or development.
Best, Luv --Charlie4404 (talk) 04:13, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Charlie4404 I hope @Ahmetlii won't mind me answering your question for them, as I noticed it hadn't been answered for a few days. There are two different ways to find related articles to work on. The first is to scroll to the bottom of any page that's of direct interest to you and look at the Categories shown there. Click one of them and you'll find other articles that are also placed in that category. So you can then scroll through the list and find related pages that seem of interest.
- Secondly, if you look at any article's talk page, you will see a panel at the top indicating which 'WikiProjects' that page is associated with, as well as an assessment of the article's quality and importance of that article. Whilst not every page is assessed; most are. These WikiProjects are just groups of editors with a common interest in that topic. But, most usefully, there's often an 'Article Assessment' table there which lets you see all the associated articles and an assessment of their quality and significance to that Project. It might look colourful and complicated, but just click on one of the numbers in the assessment table where the rows and columns intersect and you get a nice list of, say, really short but really important articles. These might be a great prompt for you to work on. I have written some slightly more detailed explanation of how an article assessment can be useful on this page. It uses mountains as an example, not India or Economics, but I hope you get the idea! Hope this helps, Nick Moyes (talk) 16:15, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much @Nick Moyes. This was helpful! Will bother you again if I need anything. Charlie4404 (talk) 18:07, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
