How do I use the Upload Wizard for Wikimedia Commons?

[edit]

I have a question about uploading to Wikimedia Commons. The person doing the uploading will be uploading two things. First are photographs of paintings painted by her mother, an artist. The mother is dead, so the daughter owns the copyright and has obtained permission from the person who photographed the paintings. Can you tell me how to fill out the Upload Wizard form: Is the source the photographer and the author the painter? And then which Creative Commons license is the right one? I don’t understand the differences. The daughter is fine with sharing the work, even for modification. The second item is a photograph of the artist taken by a newspaper, which has given permission to use it. Same questions. Thanks so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SlowForm (talkcontribs) 22:03, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

First, you'll probably want to be using the Commons upload wizard; if you need more help with it, you should ask at the Commons Help Desk. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 22:35, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
