Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Africa4me. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 15:01, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- From documented NASA technical research reports on Dr. Woodard and videos with him demonstrating the practicality of his inventions, I thought I incorporated this into the wiki on him. Also his SansEC sensor is being used by Sierra Turbines in California according to its CEO in telephone and emails and also is being explored for use by NASA in the inflatable habitats planned for Mars exploration and for future improvements in the International Space Station. I never thought I had a conversational tone; I thought my tone was scholarly having done a dissertation at the University of Virginia many years ago in mythic criticism. Please allow me to revise this draft in keeping with Wikipedia's requirements for inclusion on the internet. I do appreciate the reviewers taking time to give me feedback. Dr. George Szatkowski was the Langley NASA scientist who mentioned in a telephone interview and email about the drawer containing Woodard's less than desirable outcomes. I can just delete that if there is a point of conflict. If there are too many references to interviews, I can also mitigate this perceived conflict of interest by your prestigious staff to be praised for making knowledge acquisition global and the playfield being more equitable internationally. I've added this notice because you state in your draft Ken Dudley told me this. When visiting his lab Ken said Stand showed him is closet of failed designs. He lovingly referred to it as his draw of shame indicating the exhaustive effort he pursued in finally achieving success.
which indicates you may have some relationship with the subject of the draft. -- Whpq (talk) 15:03, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- I never visited Dr. Dudley's lab. I have watched NASA videos on his work with Dr. Stanley Woodard's SansEC sensor. I did receive an email from him explaining his relationship with the person I am doing the wikipedia on and praising him for his invention.. Africa4me (talk) 22:24, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- What I'm reading is yes, you have a conflict of interest? Drmies (talk) 22:36, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:James Francis Jenkins, from its old location at User:Africa4me/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 20:37, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
