- Could you please make sure anything you add to articles, especially those on living people, is supported by valid third-party sources? WP:BLPSOURCES is our policy on the subject. A discussion at Talk:Ricky Gervais would also be required before adding material like this to an article. Let me know if you need any more help. --John (talk) 19:53, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- Don't worry about formatting, just put the source on there with the info. But as I said, in a case like this it would be wise to post at Talk:Ricky Gervais first and see if people think this is worth adding. A cinema film will generally be notable again though you should include your sources. --John (talk) 06:50, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
I have posted my Tv shows table at the discussion page...how long will it take to approve?
I also want to create two new articles for Ricky's new movie Special Correspondents and Life On The Road Do they need approval to?
- You would put the source next to the statement it supports inside of
<ref>...</ref>
tags. It could look like<ref>https://myreliablesource.newspaper.com/article</ref>
. Don't worry about the rest of the formatting for now, as once there are some sources in there, someone will come by (you can {{Ping}} me if you wish) and format it for you. By looking at how they did it in the edit history, you'll have a reference for how to do it yourself in the future. A good page to read to get you started on understanding how to source articles on Wikipedia is REFBEGIN. As for your question about creating articles for a couple movies. Once the movies have independent reliable sources you can cite, then you are more than welcome to create them using the WIZARD or in your sandbox. Our help page on creating "your first article" may be a great resource to help you collect all the required materials to write a useful article. :) Happy editing! — {{U|Technical 13}} (e • t • c) 16:31, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

I have submitted Life on the Road, but I forgot how to put up the second article. What is the code. Is it possible to speed up the process of review? Thank you Adyoo3 (talk) 05:20, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
- Reply: please don't post actual copies of your articles on this talk page, it makes it confusing to find where the actual questions and replies are. The right place for a new article is in a draft page, with a name that starts with"Draft:". When you are ready to submit a draft for review, put
{{subst:submit}}
at the top of it. No, there isn't a way to speed up the review process, your article will have to wait its turn in the queue with the others. JohnCD (talk) 12:36, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Linking articles
I need help with Linking articles I am trying to link the movie Life on the Road in the Ricky Gervais page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricky_Gervais#Film to the new article of mine that was published recently. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Life_On_The_Road I tried doing the basic link but it did not work.
By the way, how do I start a new topic on this talk page? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adyoo3 (talk • contribs) 19:01, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Links are created by double square brackets, like this:
[[Life on the Road]]
(it will look like this: Life on the Road). However, you shouldn't link to the draft but directly to the accepted article, not to the draft (which in fact is merely a remnant of the review process). See Help:Links for more on links. - You can start a new topic on this talk page by editing the lowest section and adding a new section heading in a new line, created with double equality signs, like this:
== Topic of the new section ==
- The "Desktop" view also has a "New section" link at the top of the page, but I think that was considered superfluous in the mobile view. Huon (talk) 20:10, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Proposed changes on draft article on John Casey
[edit]Thanks for the suggested changes to the draft article on John Casey, which was submitted today. I reinstated the phrase 'seems to have been' as it is not certain that Casey was one of the Irish 'Whiteboys'. The secondary sources have made this assumption on the basis of what is probable. I also reinstated the specific wording about their marriage and move to Gundaroo as these were not rights easily obtained by convicts. Casey and Purcell applied three times to the colonial authorities before they were allowed to marry and then had to carefully seek permission to settle in Tallagandra. The wording was very specific to reflect the efforts undertaken by them, which is why I have undone the proposed edits. Thanks for your interest in the draft article. I hope the reasons for not accepting the changes are clear. MPCR (talk) 06:15, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Grading articles
[edit]See: Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Assessment#Grades.
I'm showing you this because you graded an obvious stub article as a B.
Really short articles are stubs, if it's something more than that then it's a "start", if it has some structure and references and length then it's a C, and if you're gonna grade an article higher than a C then you're gonna have to take a really good look at it. B-Class criteria are quite strict: Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Assessment/B-Class_criteria. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 19:40, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Dear Adyoo3,
You recently rejected my redraft of my article. You have pasted the exact same thing the first reviewer said. Can you be more specific so I know what to change?
I submitted a careful rewrite with correctly cited sources. I used existing wikipedia pages with nearly same content. Those are published and with typos no less!
Why have you refused my article? It is not an "advertisement" as you simply state.

No hard feelings at all; I had a nagging suspicion that there wasn't enough material to pass GNG right off-- thanks for your review. Couple questions though. I did cite a couple of unrelated, third-party sources (Gamasutra, TidBITS and Redbull), and your comment under the decline header seemed to imply there were nothing but primary sources. I realize that ideally an article should have unaffiliated sourcing outnumber affiliated, of course, but WP:PRIMARY stipulates that for relatively uncontroversial, factual information, primary sources are acceptable if they aren't puffy or promotional in nature and if there's no other place or source that covers the details to that degree. I realize there's very little coverage to date in detached sources about FT which makes it difficult to pass GNG, of course, but I did find good nonprimary sources in equal number to the primary, and I'm not sure if you took that into account - at least, based on the comment you made, it didn't seem that way. Would you mind clarifying? BlusterBlasterkablooie! 11:13, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

AfC is a very important process for the English language Wikipedia, and I have received several complaints of confusing and inaccurate comments left on drafts by you. I really appreciate your contributions, but perhaps it is best for you to come back when you are more experienced and have gotten more of your own drafts through AfC as well. Review of Page Draft:The Naked Convos
[edit]Hi Adyoo3,
You reviewed the above draft here Draft:The Naked Convos and turned it down. First, thank you for taking the time to have a look at the draft. Now, my main issue is that the complaint about having secondary sources probably require special circumstances. The website is a Nigerian website and all sources quoted (outside of the website itself) are secondary to the website. There aren't many sources with relevant information on the site and its activities. The websites referenced mostly reported on the activities on their own and I have taken some time to screen out paid press releases when possible. All references from the website itself are relevant because there are no other sources backing up the information. I hope there can be special consideration given for this particular draft.
Please do reply soon. Thank you.

Your message on my talk page regarding Ollie(cat)
[edit]Hi Adyoo3 and thanks for your message. I appreciate that you have sources for the article, but as I stated in my decline comment, I don't think the cat is WP:N notable enough. Just because the cat is the pet of a celebrity doesn't make it notable – despite the social media presence. However, I accept that the cat does have some fame and there appear to be other animals that have made it onto Wikipedia with similar credentials. Perhaps look at the other cats that have made it onto Wikipedia here List of cats. You are welcome to continue working on the article and then resubmit. My advice would be to add Ollie's name to List of cats so it is integrated into the encyclopaedia. I'd also suggest toning down your article so that it is more encyclopaedic. For example: 'He enjoys taking photos of Ollie while she sleeps and regularly wished his followers good night with a selfie of him and his favourite furry companion' could be simplified to 'He takes photos of Ollie sleeping and includes her in selfies on his own Twitter feed' – so that we lose the non neutral language. In general I would shorten the article, lose some of the trivial material and ensure that you tidy up the article – for instance, why no copy under the Other media heading and why do you list the Twitter feed twice under External links? I'll be happy to take another look once you have tidied up the article. Hope that helps. Libby norman (talk) 08:51, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
You accepted this at WP:AFC and it has been deleted. While this happens from time to time and drafts are accepted with the best of intentions, the comments at the deletion discussion cast very serious doubts upon the acceptance. It was, at best, premature.
I see you have been removed for the AFC list of participants (above).
The outcome of your premature acceptance is a bewildered new editor who has asked me on my talk page for help, help I am unable to give because the text and references were accepted and have been deleted. Please consider with greater care what you do when you accept or decline a draft should yo return to reviewing in the future. Fiddle Faddle 13:44, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi, someone asked questions at the teahouse about this draft and so I was looking at its sources. You rejected it for lack of notability and independant sources. However, it has recieved or been nominated for some impressive awards, and these are backed up by sources independant of the topic. Also, while the draft uses lots of non-independant sources (which I agree is not great), there are some good independant review etc. type sources from newspapers in there. Can you let me know more details so I can properly help the author? Thanks! Happy Squirrel (talk) 15:06, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

I wanted to get in contact with you to get some input on how I should go about fixing up the page for "Carl James" in terms of finding more reliable sources. I realize now that the Wiki reference to "Living Colour" can not be used, I thought it would be useful since the link was right there and his name was being referenced. So at your earliest convenience can you please get back to me for further instructions. Thanks in advance. Mrbusiness95 (talk) 22:41, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello. Is it possible where you can point out exactly the issues in the the submission? I've tried to make it formal (except for the quotes) and it is rejected. Are the informal quotes okay or are they not allowed and this is the problem? Any assistance would be appreciated, as this is learning process for me. Thank you.

Hello,
My reviewer declined my submission stating that it Need sources talking about the subject not just links to art galleries. However I do not agree with this as I tried to reference my sources correctly and if you look at the references list the first words are the actual in bedded links to where they talk about Paul Friedlander and the second one is the original source of websites. For example - [1]
Please reconsider as I've seen pages with less references or otherwise could I be given advice on what to do so this page could go 'live'? Would it be necessary to remove the information that cannot be referenced?
Many thanks

Disambiguation link notification for November 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Life on the Road, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alexander Arnold. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
