Hi there I have a question you may be able to help with (but please feel free to ignore if you prefer!). This article has just appeared in the new pages feed and notability would rest on the claim that he was “Grand Mufti of Pakistan”. I don’t know if Pakistan actually has such a position as many other countries do, but if there is a recognised and publicly appointed Grand Mufti for the country it doesn’t look to me as though this person held that role. He looks more like a recognised authority within an individual school. If so, he might be notable but I don’t think we have the third party sources in the article as it stands to prove it. I hoped that your knowledge of the field might be helpful here. Many thanks.Mccapra (talk) 13:04, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- Mccapra, Definitely notable Deobandi scholar and teacher of known notable Deobandi scholars. The title is a honororary one, nothing official. Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Zar Wali Khan, Rashid Ahmed Ludhianvi have been referred with the title, and Muhammad Shafi Deobandi's name finds the title in official memoirs of the country. That said, I reckon Wali Hasan Tonki was a notable scholar. this] should be enough, his biography, life & works by some Muhammad Hasan Siddiqi. I'll try updating it soon as I get free. I'm saddened by Noor Alam Khalil Amini's death. ─ The Aafī (talk) 13:15, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

If I may be so bold to say,
You sound like someone that I would absolutely love to have philosophical discussions with in regards to life and how we view the world around us. I know this isn't the place for it but I find your writing to be intriguing and highly stimulating to the mind. There is such a depth of color in your words. Even though you may at times be quoting others, I can see that you put your own emphasis behind each letter typed. I believe you are an amazing positive for the encyclopedia and your contributions are more than just the edits made to articles. --ARoseWolf 18:37, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- Tsistunagiska, Thanks for the compliment. I'm just amazed to see that how did you notice my contributions. Thanks! ─ The Aafī (talk) 18:43, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- I was immediately captivated by your response to Mccapra on the AfD for Knowledge in Islam. I, admittedly, reviewed the history and looked at your list of contributions where I read many of them. --ARoseWolf 18:54, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- Tsistunagiska, woah. Biographies are my favorite genre but the concept of "knowledge in Islam" is my favorite topic. I really admire Manazir Ahsan Gilani's works on this, whose single student Muhammad Hamidullah is seen as "unparalleled in the last century". Anyways, thanks for being the first female Wikipedian who has ever given a compliment to TheAafi. I really mean it. Thanks again. You may find and review my works on this Wikipedia here. ─ The Aafī (talk) 19:07, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not deeply religious by any standards but I have a love for cultural beliefs, languages and music. I see the strings that bind us together as human kind so life has an added meaning for me. Everything is color and music, our lives and every experience we have within this circle are color and music. The deeper the colors the stronger the experiences. It's the same thing with a symphony. Every instrument has its color and every note has depth and distance. It's why I call us a symphony of life. Our lives are a literal song to me. --ARoseWolf 19:20, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- Tsistunagiska, Looks interesting. I see the philosophy of life in one thing. It is to live life supporting and helping others. Grow and help grow. The closeness to God, and "collective-effort" is what means everything to me. Yeah, we "collectively" help this encyclopedia grow. If this collective effort doesn't remain there, hardly anything shall remain there. ─ The Aafī (talk) 21:06, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

ITN recognition for Noor Alam Khalil Amini
On 6 May 2021, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Noor Alam Khalil Amini, which you nominated and updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. — Amakuru (talk) 22:15, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
How can?
@TheAafi:, How did you declare Emiway saying that it read like an advertisement? An experienced user Dan arndt has him while he is almost ready. Which is also an NPR. If you read it as an advertisement, show it by changing it or submit it for review. 223.238.216.75 (talk) 16:12, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
- Every reviewer has a different perspective while they review any article. This article doesn't look in a normal tone to me, and I think it needs some work before you resubmit it for any review. Just a side note, I'm not obliged to "resubmit" your draft, and I don't have time either to fix its problems. A reviewer (AfC or NPR) just tells you the problems, they aren't obliged to fix it on their own. That said, likewise Dan arndt is a `new page reviewer`, I am as well. Thanks. ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:05, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Doubt on draft
Hello, Can you please go through this? (Draft:Gopinath Ravindran). I've submitted the article and someone declined it. And states "This submission references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article". The article is about a vice-chancellor of Kannur University. Can you please reverify that?
Thanks in advance Powerful Karma (talk) 13:35, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello, TheAafi,
In the future, if you fix a bad move, whether done in good faith or vandalism, could you leave a redirect? When the page has experienced a bad move, the bots on Wikipedia change all of the existing redirects to point to be bad new title. Then when the bad move is corrected, if you leave a redirect, then the bots can correct the redirects back to the right target. But if there is no redirect left, the redirects are broken and show up on User:AnomieBOT III/Broken redirects. There are a few editors who check this page periodically but if no one fixes these broken redirects, AnomieBOT III just deletes them all.
In this case, I have created a redirect from the bad title to the right title and now the bots can correct the redirects as they fix double redirects like these. Then, after the redirects are fixed, the temporary redirect I created can be deleted through CSD uncontroversial deletion.
This is typically not a huge problem because most articles have no or only a few redirects that point to them. But sometimes, like in cases like this, there are a lot of redirects and it's worth leaving a temporary redirect in place so the bots can get their work done. Thanks for your work! Liz Read! Talk! 00:53, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- Liz, Thanks for this. I guess this happened first time because the page was moved from "X" to "Y" and then from "Y" to "Z" by the disrupted user – and I thought the not should be fixing the redirects soon, when I reverted the "Z to Y" and "Y to X". I'll be watching this page too. I remember leaving a redirect while fixing those moves (because some involved round-robin moves including this) as well & those involved in this move are deleted "three days after I fixed" the move. Am I missing something? ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 03:47, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

- Hatchens, Yes. Lost two magnificent scholars Asir Adrawi and Usman Mansoorpuri. I had a longing wish to meet Asir Adrawi ever since I came to know him, and I was about to travel to his place that this pandemic started. My longing wishes remains a wish that won't ever be fulfilled. Please pray that this pandemic ends soon. God help us! - Qwerfjkl, okay. So The9Man accepted (AfC) the Draft:Damien Echols and moved it to Damien Echols (born 1974). Then they made a request at the RMT that Damien Echols (born 1974) be moved to Damien Echols. I followed the request. See the article history provides a glance. This move is called a "swap". See WP:SWAP & only admins/page-movers can do such moves. Once done, the left-over things are cleaned up. So what was earlier at Damien Echols was moved to Damien Echols (born 1974) and vice-versa (with history). The cleanup then demanded that Damien Echols (born 1974) be redirected Damien Echols. That's its condition now. Hence nothing was G6 deleted. I hope this clarifies everything. ─ The Aafī (talk) 00:07, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Ulama
Thank you for your message yesterday, I would be happy to share experiences. Please also look at the Ulama page. The entire page was written in the past, giving the reader the impression that madrassas don't exist any more and are a thing of the past. It is also difficult to check what is said in the sources as most of them are not online. The page gives a distorted as it focusses on issues of controversy such as power struggles between secular governments and madrassas.
I have come across biographies of contemporary Islamic scholars who are still living which describe the as 'Islamic scholar' and they place an internal link to the Ulama page on the term 'Islamic scholar', but the Ulama page fails to address how or where contemporary Islamic scholars are trained. The page also connects madrassas with extremism, but fails to mention that there are highly respected Ulama practicing today who are not extremists at all, so their are issues concerning a lack of neutral point of view by the editors of this page.
There have been discussions on the talk page about POV, but the page needs a lot more work. Last entry on the talk page was in 2017. A review of the sources currently used on the page would be useful to see if the sources themselves are NPOV or if controversial material has been cherrypicked from them.
What I did yesterday was a quick fix, changing some statements on madrassa's from past to present tense to reflect the fact that madrassas still exist and still follow traditional training methods. It would be useful to actually find reliable sources on the current situation of how the Ulama are trained and to start some new discussions on the talk page. If there is lack of consensus then page tags can be used to alert readers that neutrality is disputed until consensus is reached. Also, a tag at the top of the page to say the page needs updating could be used until content on contemporary training of the Ulama is reliably sourced and agreed upon. I would be interested to hear comments on these issues. Amirah talk 10:04, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello Team, I want to create a new article on wikipedia about a very famous and renowned personality, and that is Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, well know Indian Author, Public Figure and Prominent Religious Personality, and he is acting general secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board I have been created a page and submitted once for review, but unfortunately its declined by reviewer for some citation and reference issues, So now I have updated the article and put all reliable citations and references, as well as I improved all over the whole article content from different aspects. - @Khalid Nadwi: The reason is mentioned there in the edit summary. Nonetheless, Wikipedia is not a directory where we mention each book any person has written. Such things come under List articles if their inclusion merits a list, for example see Muhammad Taqi Usmani bibliography. That said, I've already said above that "your draft was nothing but a piece of puff", see WP:PUFF, WP:NPOV for better understanding. Image on Mufti Abdul Razzaq page
There is missing image on the page for mufti abdul razzaq , please add it from wiki commons , the using of word former isn’t much big of an issue here right now 0sama432 (talk) 21:59, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- 0sama432, The image was a copyright violation and has been deleted. ─ The Aafī (talk) 05:54, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Check it again , i’ve did some revisions and uploaded , do suggest something useful if you want on how can i improve it in successfully adding the image 0sama432 (talk) 22:03, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
- 0sama432, The best you can is to stop uploading the image which is copyrighted. Please. ─ The Aafī (talk) 01:13, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Dear sir, I’m from the organisation of Mufti Abdul Razzaq Khan R.A , We hire photographers for pictures and pay them to apparently acquire the ownership the clicked photos of someone so dear to us , Please explain the copyright part to me 0sama432 (talk) 06:14, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- 0sama432, You need to fix the copyright issues through WP:OTRS and stop editing article on your own. It is completely against our WP:COI guidelines. ─ The Aafī (talk) 06:24, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks alot , i’ll fix the copyright issues , please undo the deletion request and add it yourself later 0sama432 (talk) 08:22, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Also mention , why there’s a need to reaolve it on WP:OTRS when the media and image rights belongs to me in the first place and there would not have been an issue if you did not requested it for speedy deletion 0sama432 (talk) 08:32, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- 0sama432, Simply because this is what the guidelines say. See this for further guidelines. Since you did not click the image, it definitely is not your "own work" but someone else's work. That said, you need to contact the OTRS and provide them the relevant details that you've the rights of that image. You can't just say that an image "which was clicked by someone else" is your own work, even if you've received the copyrights. Thanks. ─ The Aafī (talk) 09:08, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Requesting feedback on a draft
Hello @TheAafi I hope you are doing good, I saw that you have good knowledge regarding refs from India and pakistan, as per your user page :), can you please have a look at Draft:Vivek Verma as I feel it passes GNG if no thn clearly the WP:BARE, Please have a look at this and guide me with it as this is my very first AFC I want to contribute on it under the guidance of someone who does have knowledge about India related refs, Shukriya Suryabeej ⋠talk⋡ 14:47, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- Suryabeej, I don't find any valid reason to say that it meets any subjective criteria on notability. GNG looks too far to me. Declined this time. Please add three best sources and mention in the article "what makes him notable". The current sources aren't helpful imo. Thanks ─ The Aafī (talk) 15:19, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Yuri_Dallakyan
Dear TheAafi,
The page I have submitted for review is a translation of an existing page in Armenian. https://hy.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D5%85%D5%B8%D6%82%D6%80%D5%AB_%D4%B4%D5%A1%D5%AC%D5%AC%D5%A1%D6%84%D5%B5%D5%A1%D5%B6 The reliability of the sources was not an issue for the original page and I had documents to support every reference with. Those publications are either in Armenian or Russian. I would gladly submit English sources, but there are none.
How can we proceed? I'll be happy to send you any material at your request, but I am afraid you cannot read them. Please advise.
Sincerely, Armen Dallakian Climbermimber (talk) 18:05, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Renu Raj
Hello, I've once removed the COI tag from Renu Raj which was placed by GermanKity, see. Someone else also removed the COI tag before me, look. But German kitty is doing the same process (tagging undisclosed payment tag) again and again. This is vandalism, right? 27.59.238.4 (talk) 07:10, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- 27.59.238.4 is shopping around to Administrators and at Teahouse to get the UPE/COI tag permanently removed from Renu Raj by accusing GermanKity of vandalism. At Teahouse, Germankity has raised the possibility that 27.59.238.4 is an IP for User:Idhachu, the editor who created the article originally, subsequently blocked as sock. David notMD (talk) 11:43, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Do you know
Sorry you cannot have an article both "in the news" and in DYK Chidgk1 (talk) 16:04, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Chidgk1, I was just going through Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Archive 108#Prep 2 (ITN "recent deaths" section & DYK) and the conclusion was that, articles that have been linked in the RD (not in the blurb) are eligible for the DYK. Nonetheless, this would take days to get reviewed and passed. So there's no issue like "a thing being in the RD and DYK at a same time". Let me know if I'm mistaken. ─ The Aafī (talk) 16:28, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- For example see this Template:Did you know nominations/Johnny Leach. I hope that you'd reconsider your review. ─ The Aafī (talk) 16:45, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Also, there's another clarification at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Archive 92#Rules clarification - recent deaths, where Mandarax maintains that
Generally, a previous bold Main Page appearance makes an article ineligible for DYK. The articles in the "Recent deaths" subsection are simply listed and are not bold, so I'd say that does not disqualify them from DYK.
Similar articles have been promoted in past like this and this. One of the two was passed by Muboshgu. ─ The Aafī (talk) 16:50, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

- TheAafi, the article, generally, is really nice; you could nominate for GA. But, as I mentioned earlier in your DYK nomination, some plagiarism is found, and you should paraphrase them first – it can be the main issue when you nominate. Zin Win Hlaing (talk) 07:28, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Zin Win Hlaing, Thanks for the input. I've re-phrased a lot of stuff, and it is around 26% now. Still, I'm not able to understand, how this would be a problem when the statements in quotes have been attributed rightly? ─ The Aafī (talk) 08:19, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- TheAafi, I'm afraid I would refer you to WP:GACR. But plagiarism is excluded for quotations, I guess. And if you want to nominate for GA, just do that. A reviewer will tell you what you need to fix. Zin Win Hlaing (talk) 08:32, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

Clarification
Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
Just a note about your edit summary here: "7-year old discussions, they are fine and okay in Archive".
Well, per WP:ARCHIVENOTDELETE, "As a rule of thumb, archive closed discussions when a talk page exceeds 75 KB or has numerous resolved or stale discussions – see Help:Archiving a talk page. Apart from the exception described in WP:OWNTALK, discussions should be archived, not blanked." This is why I restored the old discussions here.
Anyway, thanks for correcting your mistake in the end. Peace.--TheEagle107 (talk) 03:51, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to look over the page I created for the poet Jennifer Firestone. I realize it's been denied several times for sourcing issues. A question
Why have several users asked me in the last couple of days for help with deleted articles or articles they want to create, on my talk page and by email? I am not responsible for the deletions nor am I remotely interested in the type of articles they want to create. Am I regarded as a soft touch or something? I ask you, because you removed one of these postings from my talk page, and perhaps know what's going on. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:35, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Cwmhiraeth, the one I removed was from a person who has now been blocked as a confirmed sock. If you have received emails for getting Ali al-Suleiman stuff restored, please see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/علي أبو عمر. This is a long abuser, and more than 200 accounts have been blocked so far. See Alaa's case-page on meta. ─ The Aafī (talk) 11:45, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

Inquiry
Asalamu alaykum. I came across the article on Mufti Karaan. I didn't know there was a Wikipedia article on him.
My father studies at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow many years ago. He passed away 6 years ago. I was advised to write about his life but I have no writing experience. Also, I did not know the finer details of his life as our parents were seperate. I have kept some of his university scripts and reports as I didn't want to throw them away. I still have all his urdu and Arabic textbooks. I would like to donate them to people who would appreciate it.
How do you obtain the relevant information to write articles on scholars?
Thanks Wiki2408 (talk) 17:59, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- Wiki2408, Wa Alykumus salam! This is what is my field of expertise. I'd suggest you to read WP:COI if you plan to write an article about your father, after having a look at WP:BIO, making yourself sure that he passes the notability test of English Wikipedia. Alternatively, you can send me an email from here if you want me to help and assist you in all the issues around this. Thanks ─ The Aafī (talk) 06:10, 7 September 2021 (UTC)

Could you please explain the reason of request rejection?? Hindu108 (talk) 11:28, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hindu108, I've multiple reason to reject this "move request" and I disagree with all the moves that you made prior to getting the base page moved procedurally. As noted at Talk:Faizabad district mutiple times, please feel free to initiate a procedural RM request. Since, this is not "uncontroversial", this won't be moved through the RMT and self-moving such articles is highly discouraged. Thanks ─ The Aafī (talk) 11:31, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
