wiped talk page at urging of two editors

Welcome!

Hello, Wikipietime, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Mountain pavilion weehawken, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mountain pavilion weehawken requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:35, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Removing Speedy at Mountain pavilion weehawken

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Mountain pavilion weehawken, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 04:39, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. I've given your recent contribution to Fourth Estate quite a trim, to conform to the WP:TOPIC policy. For example, "Mitt's petting zoo" could be considered for the Mitt Romney page, but it hasn't got anything to do with Fourth Estate. Be careful not to add your own analysis to the sources: I couldn't find anything about "media uproar" being the reason for Romney's statement, for example. Don't sign your mainspace contributions.

Whatever else, don't let grumpy editors get you down; stick with it! All the best.

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Talk:Son of BOSS. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 04:49, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Well, I will work on it. I strive for being objective and factual. Thanks for the feed back. It looks like the Son of BOSS article is full sail; deservedly so. I have always been a "sniffer" and listen closer to what people do not say or express. On the premises that people tell lies and keep the truth silent. The arm of the LDS is far reaching as a major genealogy repository. I am not seeing this connection covered in the world of business and industry - puzzling. An ax grinder? Me? Or a seeker of real life drama and intrigue. Not really taking a position on a favorite candidate for president, or political party and acceptable of all religious beliefs, I do not posses an axe to grind. A knowledge seeker is my self description. Wikipietime (talk) 13:34, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

I gave you that warning because you accused another editor of working for Congress and being a "mole" of some sort. Take a look at this change you made; [1]; what does being a Mormon have anything to do with a tax shelter? It's unfounded and original research which is prohibited on Wikipedia. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 15:17, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to J. W. "Bill" Marriott, Jr.. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 15:18, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Is the page about my self off limits for pontificating? If other more experienced editors have not already corrected, I will try to rectify. A suppressive tone for aspiring contributors certainly would not benefit the Wikipedia. Wikipietime (talk) 17:15, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
You made that edit to a page on a public figure, not on your own page. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 02:12, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Anxiously awaiting Mr. Vernon or Frecklfoots treatment of changes to first section of the Son of BOSS article with an un referenced source and violation of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. My "improprieties" were pounced upon. Wikipietime (talk) 15:45, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Notice of Neutral point of view noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Hello, Wikipietime. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 02:12, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Rights Managed. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to a loss of editing privileges. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Please use the talk page for questions, not the main article page. Thank you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 02:20, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

That was made to the main page in error, I intended to place into the talk. The article is most lacking and I am working on a project involving Right Management and would like to have a discussion on how the article could be improved. Any act of vandalism was totally unintentional and done in error. Wikipietime (talk) 05:02, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Understood, it wasn't the first time you've done it, just be careful. If I may ask, what kind of project are you working on? --Mr. Vernon (talk) 05:07, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

I have been contracted to research DAM, Digital Asset Management/Rights, for an educational client. The space is changing most rapidly with advent of new technology, impression rates, etc., Clients are concerned of running afoul of their licensing terms for video and image assets. Wikipietime (talk) 05:26, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Neutral point of view

[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Julian Castro. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:42, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Absolutely, I have corrected those wayward ways. Apologies for the trouble and thank you for correcting. Wikipietime (talk) 03:57, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Thurston Howell, III, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. Mr. Vernon (talk) 23:52, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Respectfully, would you please explain to me how that process works. Twice, you removed my content without valid recourse. I did not place or detect anything personal in my paragraph. I am citing the fact. Should this not be being discussed for resolution on the noticeboard? I mean really a suppression of facts on a fictional character, Howell. Trivia buffs would relish this morsel. The latest revision does not even mention Mitt Romney. I am waiting for an answer as to whether the source is valid and recognizable. Please do not take it personal, I prefer facts, clarity, discussion and understanding. If you feel a threat is warranted, then execute on it or else explain the full facts of my faults.Wikipietime (talk) 00:15, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

You don't refer to other Wikipedia editors in an article like you did here. 72Dino (talk) 00:19, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, I had wondered about that but could not find a reference on this. I will not do again. I am looking down the road and see that ;

As a rule of thumb, when in doubt, do not block; instead, consult other administrators for advice. After placing a block that may be controversial, it is a good idea to make a note of the block at the administrators' incidents noticeboard for peer review.

Administrators should take special care when dealing with new users. Beginning editors are often unfamiliar with Wikipedia policy and convention, and so their behavior may initially appear to be disruptive. Responding to these new users with excessive force can discourage them from editing in the future

So, being threatened to being blocked is a form of intimidation, to some. But, I am trying to avoid an adversarial relationship and remain in good faith pragmatic. Wikipietime (talk) 00:27, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Did you honestly believe that attacking another editor on an article page was "OK" because you couldn't find those pages? --Mr. Vernon (talk) 00:37, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

So, 72Dino did you look at the editing that was done to Thurston Howell, III by talk? Was that a problem? We have two issues going here. Wikipietime (talk) 00:39, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

The fictional capitalistic character, Howell, created by [[Sherwood Schwartz|Sherwood Schwartz]] has been mentioned several times on network American television as a satirical portrayal of the 2012 GOP candidate for president of the U.S; but apparently some editors of wikipedia feel that either this personified personality or the popular media sources cited for inclusion are not noteworthy.

Fact, and cited as so. Should you have not have only removed the violation?; but apparently some editors of wikipedia feel that either this personified personality or the popular media sources cited for inclusion are not noteworthy and left my contribution? I am feeling really discouraged as to what kind of ideological editors are wanted here.Wikipietime (talk) 00:51, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Wikipietime (talk) 22:38, 23 November 2012 (UTC)== Mountain Pavilion ==

Hey Wikipietime,

I see you added a link to Mountain Pavilion, and also that you've had some trouble keeping from being deleted before. Let's see if we can improve the article; right now, much of it is written exactly like the source you've found which we try not to do. Can you find some more references? - Theornamentalist (talk) 11:59, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Appreciate it. I am trying to get the neurons wrapped around the "notability" concept. If a topic is old, rare, etc.,; very likely few citations and "notability". I was not sure this would even pass the muster. So, as in some of my other contributions; offered limited completeness. I will offers some enhancements to the Mountain Pavilion. It fascinates me for the time period and the representation of enticement of westward expansion..even Daniel Webster. --Wikipietime (talk) 15:05, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
I guess if I try to make it simple, it's that we can't really write about anything that wasn't written about before. Constituting what is "enough" writing about a subject can be a grey area, if you look over the behemoth WP:N it can help, but a basic guideline is that a subject be written about in more than passing in two independent publications. So, just focusing on Mountain Pavilion, if we could only find brief mentions of it then it would not meet notability criteria. Just because it existed doesn't mean it's notable. Luckily, I think Mountain Pavilion, with a bit of work will exceed the criteria fairly. I've found some sources and I can add some later. Let's work on rewriting it a bit.
For an example, I wrote about an inn in the same area some time ago; see Three Pigeons. Check out some of the organization, templates used. Let me know when to look back over it. - Theornamentalist (talk) 19:41, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Excellent and much appreciated, the 3 pigeons and all your excellent contributions. Thanks for the explanation. I suppose "staking out" what seems like a good candidate for inclusion to wiki should be balanced with the degree of completeness. For example, would you say that it is better to put Mountain Pavilion article out, even in a rough, limited form; or to wait and offer more thorough coverage? It seemed to me that it was better to initiate, collaborate, refine than hesitate. But, in so many of my contributions; the barrage of complaints seem to indicate otherwise. --Wikipietime (talk) 22:38, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on George Ives (actor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Harry the Dog WOOF 15:44, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Looking at this article, I am wondering why you did not work this article up in your user space before publishing it as an article. It has numerous Manual of style issues, only one source is cited plus the entire article seems to be lifted from a work with possible copyright/attribution issues as seen here which has the following statement:

Copyright. All rights reserved.
http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm
http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm

Content creation is a great thing, but this particular content would have benefited from further work before being published into article-space. I would suggest that you post a help request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Amusement Parks or contact some of the active WikiProject Amusement Parks participants at Wikipedia:WikiProject Amusement Parks/Participants. --Shearonink (talk) 15:59, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

All good points, I can only plead that I am learning and my ignorance shows. My lack of utilizing an abundance of caution on guidelines will be focused on. --Wikipietime (talk) 19:45, 24 November 2012 (UTC):::From the copyright; Wikipedia is a non-non commercial entity, right? --Wikipietime (talk) 20:04, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Did you obtain written permission from the USGenWeb contributor to use the material? If not (besides the fact that content is word-for-word the same as the original), then it appears that your Eldorado Amusement Park article is in violation of the USGenWeb copyright notice. {{db-g7}} aka {{db-author}}

[edit]

The above templates can be used to ask for the deletion a page you have created, when you are its only contributor. By blanking the page and adding the one of the above it will be removed from the article space. I would suggest doing so for the above article. While you may believe it is of interest to add subjects, and then see what happens, it is actually counterproductive to post new articles that are poorly constructed and referenced, adding unnecessarily to the workload. Therefore, I'd suggest:

Creating a User page

[edit]

When creating a new page you are given the option to create a USER page: I would suggest using it so that you can better practice writing, structuring, and formatting references before launching new articles for publication. Type title in search box (upper right hand corner). You will be offered the following (example).

You can also start your new article at Special:Mypage/Eldorado (Weehawken). There, you can develop the article with less risk of deletion, ask other editors to help work on it, and move it into "article space" when it is ready.

You can the inform other editors of its existence and ask for help to build it. This editorial process can help to unsure the quality of published works and avoid cluttering the encyclopaedia with ingredients without a recipe. Djflem (talk) 09:45, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Surely, you jest that it should be deleted. It seems that the process worked fine on Mountain Pavilion and now it seems like a great article. With a little massaging, Eldorado will be there to. I have emailed for permission to include citation. I tell ya, if I was not such a bull, hard headed, fella; I would get discouraged. This Eldorado park is waaay superior in topic than many, many articles. Why is it not even included in Amusement Park? Did that creator bring it out of his user space prematurely? --Wikipietime (talk) 15:16, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
Why is it not included in that particular article? I suppose because not every single amusement park ever built in the world is included in that article.
As to Djflem's suggestions - User space is a place where editors can work and collaborate on content that is not ready for publication into Wikipedia article space. I agree with Djflem, that at the very least this content should have been left in the creator's sandbox so it could be improved there while Wikipietime is waiting for permission to re-use the content. Technically, right now it looks to me like it could possibly be deleted just for the apparent copyright violation alone. --Shearonink (talk) 16:03, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
the Eldorado was the grandfather of Pleasure Parks, adjacent to a city of 300k people. I do not see how an article covering the history of could exists without mentioning, respectfully saying. The emergence of America's fascination with Egyptian culture was birthed at this locale, by my research. Ease up, please.--Wikipietime (talk) 16:23, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
My only concern is the quality of this encyclopedia, copyright violations are taken very seriously around the project. I stand by my comment about the possible violation - when I posted that it was entirely valid. I am casting no aspersions about the validity of the subject, I am only concerned with the quality of the content. So you are saying that there are reliable sources saying America's Egyptomania started at the Eldorado? If that is so, then you should include and cite them (I would have thought rather that the park was a symptom - not a cause - of 19th Century America's fascination with ancient Egypt's history/motifs). Shearonink (talk) 16:54, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
I agree totally on the citation integrity and your efforts toward a quality, correct article. The Egyptomania, good one, is perhaps a theory, unfounded. The Egyptian Theater mania swept the country and had to have originated somewhere and the 1891 looks to be the earliest. The region was a destination of many immigrants and the likelihood that it originated there is not implausible. I recognize this is OR and thus only used a citation and a quote and not my opinion or research.--Wikipietime (talk) 17:09, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
I tell ya, if you "were not such a bull, hard headed, fella" you'd understand that coming up with things to write about is not the hard part. Anyone could easily rattle off tens of worthwhile topics, and create stubs all over the place. I don't think it adds to the quality or integrity of the encyclopaedia. What is being suggested/requested is that you try to develop the articles you'd like to see written before publishing them, not just dumping stuff that you expect other people to clean up, as happened at Mountain Pavilion and Eldorado. Please try to practice formatting, style, and referencing, By the way, Eldorado was much more of pleasure garden than an amusement park. Opened in 1898, the Palisades Amusement Park, a few miles upriver was much more so Djflem (talk) 19:47, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes, some more development before publishing to main space would be great, just because it worked once doesn't mean it will work the second or third or fourth (or whatever) time.
There are a few other things that I have noticed in your edits... Why did you completely blank that pre-existing template, Template:WPPrivateEquity? And page moves were hard for me to master, maybe before you do any more, (as you did for Total Noise/Total Noise Society/User:Total Noise Society)) you should probably take a look at Wikipedia:Moving a page and Help:How to move a page. You can always ask for help in the Wikipedia Editing Help IRC Channel, post a request at the appropriate administrators' noticeboard or post a query on an active adminstrator's talk page. Hope this helps, Shearonink (talk) 20:23, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
Appreciate all the helpful criticism, I will strive to better my impatience; something I have wrestled with for a long time. Thanks a bunch!--Wikipietime (talk) 01:42, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Ready to dismiss the Wikipedia for anything political. The right wing, leaning, evangelicals are revising history and have compromised wikipedia's value - hanging by a thread of hope. Just look at the Ben Carson article and the fluffery underway. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of American Swiss Foundation, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.americanswiss.org/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. A tag has been placed on American Swiss Foundation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. China Oceanwide Holdings

[edit]

Looking at it and related articles, it does seem the firm is notable, though the very brief stub that you originally entered did seem qualify for speedy--but I should indeed have looked further. I see you now have some additional material in userspace. As you have a record of being a responsible editor in this field, makes substantial articles, I'm going to simplify things by restoring the originally deleted stub, and marking it as underconstruction.

I suggest you add immediately some financial data, so people don't question my restoration. In particular is it Lu Zhiqiang's principal company, or just one of his holdings? DGG ( talk ) 18:43, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for restoring and giving it your attention. It shocks me to see total puff pieces that are extensively long and barely a mention of companies as China Oceanwide Holdings who are gobbling up real estate at a torrid pace. I do recognize and somewhat apologize for the brevity of this and other articles that I have created. Unfortunately, my time is rather limited or sporadic and my feeling is that this, as others, must be in wikipedia at any level of detail. In this case with Oceanwide, I expect it will grow substantially due to the Manhattan activity and existing as a undercontruction. --Wikipietime (talk) 19:02, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Closed discussion with WV concerning Heidi Cruz talk pages

[edit]

I wanted to add the following to the duscussion but it was closed; so here;

Did you, or do I have, the ability to perform a revision to the talk page that would result in ability to see revision concealed? If so, that is really some super power that I want to know about. Please, direct or inform me.

My contributions are to address the quality of the article and in this case, not the BLP but the manipulation of the media to either squash or promote a narrative. The accusation of "defamatory and potentially libelous" comments does cause me pause. "Scurrying" to research the forces that exist is a prudent exercise; in my opinion. This is a fast moving topic and there are a lot of bodies in orbit.

Editing concerns made by editor who warned me of being blocked

Please reform your ways, or you risk being blocked. No, this is not an April Fool's joke. Bearian (talk) 18:04, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

I think if you are issuing threats, you owe the courtesy of citing a cause. Would you please explain why you have gotten so riled up?--Wikipietime (talk) 12:41, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

I noticed an article you created, Scott Hatch, had been proposed for deletion, with several issues including an unreliable source. I am also particularly scrupulous about BLP violations against religious minorities (in this case a Mormon); for what it's worth, I'm not a unitarian. I take no stance about whether Hatch has mis-used his status as son of the 3rd in line to the Presidency for personal gain. Going to your talk page, I saw that you'd been warned at least a dozen times about poorly-cited and/or non-notable biographies, edit-warring, and many other basic editing issues, for a period of several years. It's okay to have a personal agenda, but you need to disclose all conflicts of interest, and most importantly, you need to work for the benefit of the charity for which we volunteer. Remember, Wikipedia is a project of a private charity - it is not a public soapbox in a London park - and can lose its 501(c)(3) status if it becomes too political. You can be forced out of Wikipedia if you violate its rules and violate your fiduciary duties. Yet nobody seems to ever have given in all fairness you a general warning (unless you erased it), which is necessary before a editor can be blocked or barred. Since I am no longer an admin, I can't block nor ban you, so it was not intended as a threat. I gave you just a warning. As a lawyer, teacher, and fiduciary, it is natural for me to warn others of problems they seem to be creating for themselves. "It is what it is." I'm just doing you a favor. I'd do the same for any client, beneficiary, or student. Bearian (talk) 00:51, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Seems that contributions made are irrelevant in your criticism. Looking at the entirety is paramount in critical opinions. You know, the bundle of sticks. One that comes to mind is the Anbang Insurance Group article created by me that was pushed for deletion. I do understand how some would not want certain articles to appear; but, Democracy dies in darkness.--Wikipietime (talk) 12:37, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

You claim that there is a plethora of references to this person. Please post them as an addendum to your comment on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeff King (consultant). I'll be happy to withdraw the nomination if he seems to pass WP:BIO but I couldn't find them as his name is very common.
BTW, do you have a connection to King? Toddst1 (talk) 14:10, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Absolutely no connection to King's, only an interest of how lineage in business and politics is alive and well. I am not alone in that either;

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3697348/GOP-congressman-accused-face-racism-said-black-subgroups-not-contributed-civilization.html

An "us" and "them" issue. I am all for inclusiveness of knowledge, especially for those who seek out the political spotlight.

http://www.p2016.org/cruz/cruzsuperpacorg.html Consulting Jeff King

(reported by CNN's Theodore Schleifer on Aug. 8, 2015) Son of U.S. Rep. Steve King and has served as King's campaign manager.

http://www.salon.com/2015/11/16/ted_cruz_just_moved_a_step_closer_to_winning_iowa_far_right_rep_steve_king_gives_endorsement/ "Jeff King, the congressman’s son, helps run one of the four main super PACs supporting Cruz, funded by New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Mercer. And Cruz’s Iowa state director is a former King staffer, according to USA Today."

At best, all of those articles are passing mentions of the person. All of them taken together are nowhere near passing WP:BASIC. I believe that article will be properly deleted at AFD. Toddst1 (talk) 17:47, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Noted. Not sure "passing mention" would be substantive in an article or two; but maybe a balanced consensus of editors will weigh in. WP:Basic states " For people, the person who is the topic of a biographical article should be "worthy of notice"[1] or "note"[2] – that is, "remarkable"[2] or "significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded"[1] within Wikipedia as a written account of that person's life. "Notable" in the sense of being "famous" or "popular" – although not irrelevant – is secondary." and this article in the Sioux City Journal

is specifically about him and his role, http://siouxcityjournal.com/news/local/a1/jeff-king-plays-big-role-in-his-father-s-campaigns/article_0337fbe5-fd7c-52af-b9e9-c9b11bd38c42.html

If you would like to make the claim that he is not worthy of notice, unremarkable, insignificant, etc., I respect that and disagree.

--Wikipietime (talk) 18:24, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

It's clear that he's the subject of that one article, but the key thing in WP:BASIC is "multiple." Toddst1 (talk) 00:33, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

For my reference';

Katharine Fairfax (Cornell) Gorka is the wife of Sebastian Gorka and a former member of President Donald Trump's transition team.[1] Her parents, M Keen Cornell and Mortimer Ryon lived in Pennsylvania.[2] After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,[2] she earned a Master's Degree from the London School of Economics in the early 1990s before meeting Sebastian in Romania in 1994.[3] They married in Hungary's St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Sopron in 1996. At the time, she was the regional director of the National Forum Foundation.[2] In 2003, she and her husband founded the Institute for Transitional Democracy and International Security in Budapest, Hungary.[4][5] In 2009, she was the executive director of The Westminster Institute, a think tank that focused on threats from extremism and radical ideologies.[6] In March 2016, she became the foreign policy advisor to Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.[5]

On November 29, 2016, President-elect Donald Trump chose Gorka to be part of his "landing team" tasked with meeting President Barack Obama's officials at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),[7] an agency she had publically criticized in the past through articles on Breitbart News and other outlets.[8] During this period, she told DHS officials in charge of the Countering Violent Extremism Task Force (CVE) that it would likely be renamed "Countering Radical Islam" or "Countering Violent Jihad".[9] She became a policy advisor at DHS on April 7, 2017.[3][10] Because of Gorka's openness about her anti-Islam views, her role in the administration has been controversial.[1] Along with President Donald Trump aides, she worked to eliminate a CEV grant to Life After Hate, a group that opposes white supremacy. When the list of new CEV grant recipients was released June 23, 2017, Life After Hate was not included. This decision drew significant attention when a 20 year-old white supremacist attacked a group protesting the Unite the Right rally less than two months later, killing one.[1]

She is the author of Cornell Iron Works: The History of an Enduring Family Business and co-edited Fighting the Ideological War: Winning Strategies from Communism to Islamismwith Patrick Sookhdeo.[11][12]

Taking Sides

[edit]

"We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented" -Wiesel

An amusing feature of wikipedia is what I will label, the EGOW's, the editor gangs of wikipedia.. A no brainer that just a few editors can collaborate to control. After researching background edits of numerous editors for years, a bias of interest emerges and currents detected for future activities. Loving it. --Wikipietime (talk) 14:11, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Your recent editing [2] [3] and specifically this comment above, [4] smack of WP:BATTLE and personal attacks. May I suggest you take a break and cool off? Toddst1 (talk) 15:23, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

By all means, suggestions are always welcome! I only have an issue with dictates. Remaining dumbfounded of resistance to Ms. Gorka blp. Calling it a bias. She has sought publicity as an author and worldwide political, religious, cultural engagements. If it fails, the article resurrection, at least I will know that the battle was fought and who owns it.--Wikipietime (talk) 13:55, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

Fellow editor's HELPFUL suggestion from Toddst1  ; Talk page guidelines

[edit]
deleting guidelines

Would you please read the Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines and start threading and signing your posts? Additionally, could you stop dumping unformatted links all over talk pages? Some of us are getting tired of cleaning up after you. Toddst1 (talk) 19:47, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Right. Always try to sign. I suppose the Westminister topic added to Gorka page with this link; http://www.westminster-institute.org/videos/

is an example of what you are referring too? I will study up and present according to guidelines. Since you brought it up what is getting tiring; I will say I might be getting tired of pushing so hard to add articles. Look up my talk page. Some misfires, for sure. But some fine sticks as well. You know in life, there are those who charge through creating and those that nod in disgust and fuss from the mess. Reflecting on matter at hand, the wasted time and effort is nutty in a hmmm sort of way. She belongs in wikipedia(period)--Wikipietime (talk) 20:12, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Maybe beside cleaning up my talk page syntax, articles like this could be looked at;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Foreign_Policy_Council

my goodness, get there from the Gorka's, to Westminster Institute and sorely in need of a scrub.--Wikipietime (talk) 20:36, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

@Wikipietime: talk page stalker useage

  • Any deleted text should be marked with ... or ..., which renders in most browsers as struck-through text, e.g., deleted.
  • Any inserted text should marked with ... or ..., which renders in most browsers as underlined text, e.g., inserted.
  • Best practice is to add a new timestamp, e.g., ; edited 13:49, 17 August 2017 (UTC), using five tildes, after the original timestamp at the end of your post.
  • To add an explanation of your change, you may add a new comment immediately below your original or elsewhere in discussion as may be most appropriate, insert a comment in square brackets, e.g., "the default width is 100px 120px [the default changed last month]", or use [corrected] to insert a superscript note, e.g., [corrected], linking to a later subsection for a detailed explanation.

Speedy deletion

[edit]

WPT, I think you have a misconception about speedy deletion. You've badgered a number of editors including Alex Shih ‎ saying they should have engaged in discussion before speedily deleting an article. That's not how it works. Speedy deletion is designed to be just that - speedy - for articles that are so bad that they need no discussion. You should keep that in mind going forward.

As you know, I've had some issues with several articles you've created. I believe you honestly want to create decent articles here but you just seem challenged in doing so and many of the articles you have created just don't meet our standards - which I see is leaving you understandably frustrated. May I suggest that going forward, instead of creating articles directly, you use the WP:AFC process so that you can get some coaching and your articles will stand a better chance of surviving?

Note that I've appealed to Alex on your behalf regarding restoring National Diversity Coalition for Trump. Toddst1 (talk) 14:43, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Thanks Toddst1! The article has been undeleted and moved to the user sandbox. Regards, Alex ShihTalk 14:47, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Bravo! Sure seems that a suppression on an ideological bias and basis is at play on wikipedia. Glaringly predicatable as demonstrated over the last week of my activities. Suppression of Katharine Gorka article and delegating to Sebastian Gorka is eerily similar to what is emerging with National Diversity Coalition for Trump and Michael D. Cohen (lawyer). I will expand the topic, NDCT on Cohen's page and then the removal for the reason that his page is not about NDCT. Everyone, including myself, need to own up to their actions. If I have crossed a boundary; sanction, censure or restrict me - but accusations of "soapboxing" is bullying and only inspires me in a respectful way to proceed. --Wikipietime(talk) 14:52, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

So what you're saying is that you're going to keep on doing the same disruptive things unless someone blocks you or you get a topic ban. Toddst1 (talk) 15:03, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Clarification;I am not doing things to be disruptive. I am making needed contributions that some subjectively and erroneously interpret as disruptive. Please excuse lack of formatting expertise, I am acting on your suggestion to improve threading,. --Wikipietime (talk) 15:11, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

So, probably will keep doing what I have been doing; filling glaring knowledge, reference holes. The National Diversity Coalition for Trump was just deleted, not marked for speedy deletion as I had requested to be done on the articles talk page. --Wikipietime (talk) 15:24, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

August 2017 Dust up over defense of National Diversity Coalition for Trump creation and deletion

[edit]

Please assume good faith in your dealings with other editors, which you did not do on User talk:Alex Shih. Assume that they are here to improve rather than harm Wikipedia. Toddst1 (talk) 14:59, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Did you look at the article? A solid source(NBC) and fertile for the entire community additions. Please do not think for a moment that I am not here for any other reason other than to improve likewise. I have heard of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump for over a year and when I tried to find out more on Wikipedia there was no article, defend that. So, I fixed it. For an uniformed individual of US political news coverage(mainstream) to mistake as an advertisement is not my fault. Absolutely nothing personal. --Wikipietime (talk) 15:06, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I did. I think that getting it restored to your user space to get it in better shape is a good idea and I think you may be able to create a decent article that could survive in article-space. I think you owe Alex an apology. Toddst1 (talk) 15:09, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Appreciate you effort. No doubt it is worthy of an article in my mind. What is wrong with it now other than brevity?--Wikipietime (talk) 15:15, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Using Talk pages

[edit]

Please review WP:TPG

  1. Do not EVER edit another editor's post.
  2. Please indent your own posts, and sign them. You indent by typing a colon ":" in front of the comment; you sign by typing four tildas after the comment. The wikipedia software converts the colon into an indent, and the four tildas into a time stamp and links to your user page and talk page.

Please mind these things. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 22:24, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

@Jytdog: If I have ever edited another editors, it was unintentional. Thanks for the tips. I am trying to learn but keep getting distracted by the amount of content that needs creating to fulfill the wikipedia mission. I will devote more time to the proper syntax, --Wikipietime (talk) 22

Michael Tyler was named, April 2017, as the spokesman (non-gender specific Spokesperson), for the Democratic National Committee under the leadership of Tom Perez. Tyler previously served as the communications director of Russ Fiengold.[3] In August 2017 and after Steve Bannon's departure from the Donald J. Trump's administration, Tyler stated that is "one less white supremacist in the White House". [4] After the accusation that the DNC's data was flawed and contributed to the defeat of Clinton in the 2016 presidential race; Tyler conveyed that the party was in the process of overhauling its data and technological operations.[5]

As of August 2017, his counterpart spokesperson at the Republican National Committee is Kayleigh McEnany.[6]

The battery plant is the most prominent physical manifestation of the companies that just filed for bankruptcy, Alevo USA Inc. and Alevo Manufacturing Inc. — U.S. arms of Alevo, which is based in Switzerland and is part of the Rybolovlev empire. The oligarch’s far-flung holdings include the storied Monaco soccer club, a Greek island, pricey New York real estate and Trump’s former West Palm Beach mansion.

Wouldn't this be better placed in your User:Wikipietime /sandbox instead of cluttering up your talk page? Toddst1 (talk) 14:25, 22 August 2017 (UTC):::: Probably, but why Alevo and some of the characters surrounding thia are not in wikipedia is a greater priority for now... it is not readily apparent on how to create, edit, move sandbox items to articles...the directions are really lacking...and on cleaning up my talk page, the only visitors are those wondering what and the heck i am up to, so the bread crumbs might be useful. for me, i like to review all the articles that were marked for deletion and now are solid. inspiring. back to, alevo, all the news, https://www.google.com/search?q=alevo+manufacturing&source=lnms&tbm=nws&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjO_6epievVAhXM7SYKHd3ABr0Q_AUICigB&biw=1366&bih=589, and nothing in wiki.... creates a sense of urgency for fulfillment.... yet my impression is the war against inclusionist is being lost.... more time is spent over chopping content out, as in Gorka's wifey, that if the enrgy was spent to correct the syntax and article; we would all be better off. appreciate your suggestions and will move towards! --Wikipietime (talk) 14:45, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

M-Kate

[edit]
M-Kate Oligarch Flights

The oligarch has a private Airbus A319 whose registration M-KATE allows it to be tracked online. M-KATE is normally based in Moscow or Switzerland, but made numerous flights all over the US from August 2016 through November 2016, the peak season for last year’s presidential campaign – right at the moment when American intelligence agencies believe Moscow was supposedly hijacking the election on Trump’s behalf (No proof). According to flight logs from respected plane logging sites FlightRadar24 and PlaneFinder, as well as photos of planes on the ground during the campaign, M-KATE showed up at the very same cities, and the very same (otherwise unremarkable) airports where Trump happened to be – Charlotte, North Carolina, Concord, North Carolina, Las Vegas and Miami.

Indeed, early last month – on Friday, February 10 – M-KATE flew from Switzerland to Miami, where the President was due to party with hedge fund mogul Stephen Schwarzman. Why would Rybolovlev’s plane scurry back and forth from Moscow to odd destinations such as Charlotte and Concord, or to Las Vegas, New York and Miami, precisely when Trump and his team were in the neighbourhood? Was Rybolovlev some sort of Putin emissary, a go-between for Trump and Moscow? The flights remain a genuine enigma; there are no eyewitness reports that the two men actually met or indeed of who was on the plane. It is not unknown for jets to be chartered out. A White House spokesman denied contact between the two men.’ Rybolovlev’s New York spokesman Brian Cattell denied the widespread speculation about the Russian oligarch’s Florida property dealings. Mr Rybolovlev has never met Donald Trump.’ The president´s son Donald Trump Jr told a Manhattan real estate conference in 2008: ‘Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.’

The site has been fully revamped and updated and I would like to invite you the project.

Feel free to check out the project and ping me if you have any questions.

I'd like to invite you to join the Investment WikiProject. There are a lot of Investment related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help get this project off the ground and a few Investment pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks!

Template:talkref

[edit]

Hi, Wikipietime. I added {{talkref}} (full name {{Reflist-talk}}) to your comment Talk:Namaste#Namaste in school controversy. In articles, references quite properly all go at the foot of the page, but on talk pages they are best kept with the comments they belong to, rather than being perhaps a long, long scroll away and mixed with references to other comments. This is a useful little template that does just that. I recommend it to you.

In writing this comment, I noticed your section #Michael Tyler DNC spokesman and the following ones, with your text note "THIS SECTION IS MY WORKSPACE AND NOTES....for creating and clearing up.." at the top. This creates some confusion, as the "New Section" tab at the top of the page places the new section at the foot of the page, so it's in chronological order. Here, though, that and another of your drafts, #Vladislav Baumgertner, along with References and two sections by other users, #WikiProject Investment and #Your contributed article, Michael Tyler(disambiguation). This is confusing.

I was going to urge you to use your sandbox, User talk:Wikipietime/sandbox, as a draft space, but I see that Toddst1 has already done so, and your answer. Have you read Help:My sandbox? There is also Help:Userspace draft. Once you have prepared an article in either space, you (or an autoconfirmed user, if you aren't already one) can Move it into main space. See also WP:Drafts, especially its sections Preparing drafts and Publishing a draft.
