[edit]why is this article being called "yakuza 4" right off the bat Elm-39 - T/C/N 17:06, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Agreed. Until there's an announcement about it being localized for a western release, there is no such thing as "Yakuza 4." The article should be Ryuu ga gotoku 4. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Helfwisner (talk • contribs) 10:07, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- well, the preceding episodes had a western release why this one would be different? btw correct orthograph is "ryu ga gotoku 4" as in ryu-ga-gotoku.com, etc. Cliché Online (talk) 04:21, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- It was a big surprise when it was announced part 3 would be localized, as parts 1 and 2 sold exceptionally poorly in the US and Europe. SCEA has a requirement that all games with non-English spoken dialog include at least an English audio option. Sega has been unwilling to pay for English voice actors for a series that has traditionally done very poorly. Both Yakuza 2 and Yakuza 3 are special cases where SCEA has lifted the English voice requirement-Yakuza 2 because the PS2 was near the end of it's life cycle, and Yakuza 3 because Sony are eager for another PS3 exclusive to tout. Unless Yakuza 3 sells decently well or there are other special circumstances, it seems unlikely for Sony to approve the 4th game for a western release unless it has localized voicework. - suposedly poor sales for yakuza are internet rumors, there were tons of blogs claiming "yazuza 3 will NEVER be released in the US" yet facts are yakuza 1, yakuza 2 and yakuza 3 are released in the west. since the first three episodes are released there's no reason for the fourth one to not be released in the west as well. it's like claiming halo 4 will not be released in japan because it sold poorly in this market. yakuza 2 was released in september 2008 they couldn't release yakuza 3 only 6 months later. - right okay you're trying to fight "rumors" with facts trying to justify a rumor. gj 174.111.86.246 (talk) 19:52, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- also fyi "it's like claiming halo 4 will not be released in japan because it sold poorly in this market" <-- PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE REASON. lrn2logic kthnx 174.111.86.246 (talk) 19:53, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
