Release Date
[edit]According to IGN.com, the game's release date has been scheduled. September 30 for the PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. The PS3 version of the game will be released on December 30. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.22.196.244 (talk) 00:24, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- THQ officially have it in trailers as Fall 2009. The "September 30" and "December 30" dates are simply placeholders for IGN to use since they can't put that down on their database lists. It's more noticable in a Google search for that date. -- Oakster 07:32, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

E3 2009
[edit]In the 2009's E3; THQ published a trailer video of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010, and in this video the narrator of the trailer say more features. This is the link of that trailer in YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FK__0jObTI. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.216.117.83 (talk) 20:20, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Posts & Forums
[edit]According to posts and forums of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 the game will have in the roster members of the Alumni and Hall of Fame or Legends (like want to call them), the already known "Road to WrestleMania" and Season Mode, and a new way which will be called "Legendary Road to WrestleMania" (as posts the latter will be a "Road to WrestleMania" of Alumnis and Legends). Other Forums are completely made about how the game freezes after Royal Rumble matches. Its said that it happens on most consoles.
Also it was said that this game is centred in giving the major freedom to the player, as better graphics to make it more real. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.217.5.152 (talk) 01:43, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Kofi Kingston Confirmed???
[edit]I just watched the video on the THQ mini site for SVR 2010 and right at the begining Michelle Boyd says: "Hi, I'm Michelle Boyd and I'm here with Kofi Kingston, one of the stars of the upcoming Smackdown vs Raw 2010." Should we note in the article that he is confirmed for the game. Because this is a legit source and the woman said he was one of the stars in/of Smackdown vs Raw 2010. Also, she said she was a employee of THQ at the end of the video. I would like to see an answer on what we should do. Thanks a lot people for your answers!!! :) --Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 20:51, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- As far as I know, roster lists are being phased out in wrestling game articles. -- Oakster 10:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
I know, I'm just saying why don't we do like the 2009 Roster section and just mention the big people in the game. Or at least mention Kofi in the article somewhere. --Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 21:20, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
RAW's own section
[edit]Shouldn't the RAW video game series have its own column at the bottom of the page? Danny Boy 420 (talk) 01:10, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Not really as there isn't much of a series to begin with. All you have is a 1994 game and an unrelated 2002 game along with its sequel. And SvR has no links to them anyway so it's hardly a matter for this article anyway. -- Θakster 11:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Arent U guys gonna say anything about How Yoshi Tatsu being the first DLC character for this game? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mastercarr (talk • contribs) 17:06, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- As far as I know, roster lists have been phased out (apparently it's classified as gamecruft) and so the sheer mention of him would essentially be going against that guideline. -- Θakster 18:17, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Stone Cold Steve Austin

- Well, until we are informed of further information about the roster (i.e differences from last year), nothing will be noted about Stone Cold (although yes THQ has released the models and he is one of them. --Truco 503 15:21, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Speaking of the roster do you know when the countdown starts96.244.132.93 (talk) 16:30, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- No clue, you're just gonna have to wait and see if IGN or WWE starts it up.--Truco 503 17:27, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
The main article only refers to Austin as being unlockable through certain retailers when in reality, people who pre-order WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 from GameStop will recieve a code to unlock Stone Cold Steve Austin, and for people who pre-order from Play.com, they will recieve a download code to unlock The Rock, although, other than the retailer for Austin and the website for The Rock's characters to be unlocked repsectively, I am uncertain if any other retailers or websites are offering to include download codes for either character when a customer pre-orders from them, although I would certainly imagine not.98.209.48.133 (talk) 03:08, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Divas in all match types?
[edit]Trying this again, since apparently saying "this sounds great!" at the start disqualified it as a legitimate question. Is there confirmation that Ladder, TLC, HiaC, Elimination Chamber, and Extreme Ruels matches can now have Diva participants? There does not appear to be a source for this statement, it just sort of pops up in the discussion of match types. Source?214.3.138.234 (talk) 14:19, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Steve
- Yeah, it was covered in the THQ chat at WWE Universe. There is a source for it, it just that the next sentence used the same source so there's no need for "oversourcing". -- Θakster 07:20, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- 10-4; I tried to check that one for confirmation, but I guess they don't archive the chats.214.3.138.234 (talk) 17:24, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Steve
- The article already has a direct link to the archived chat as a reference. If you still can't find it, the exact quote was:
- 8:02 SvR10Jon: Yes, you can give divas created finishers. Also Divas can now participate in every match type (except first blood).
- Hope this helps. -- Θakster 22:28, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Got the game the other day, and realized that Divas also cannot compete in the Inferno match. Not sure if there are any other matches they are excluded from, but is personal experience with the game considered "original research"? Do I have to find a separate source to site something that is an existing fact? 214.3.138.234 (talk) 14:19, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Steve
- Further- Divas cannot compete in Hell in a Cell, Elimination Chamber, or Royal Rumble matches. The statement currently in the article (that "other than First Blood, Divas can now compete in all match types...") is highly innacurate, but it IS what is said in the source. This, however, is a lie. 214.3.138.234 (talk) 15:51, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Steve
- Since it is true but without a source, I've added Citation needed to it until another source is found. I'll see if I can give it a try. -- Θakster 09:00, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've found a new source. Hope this helps. -- Θakster 11:17, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Great job, Oakster. I should have thought ot add the citation needed! There are actually some other odd limitations as well, but I haven't nearly got to the bottom of them. The game is a bit odd... The downloaded characters can't be edited, the intergender match you get DQed if you do double team moves, and all sorts of other things not mentioned anywhere. 214.3.138.234 (talk) 19:25, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Steve

Create A Storyline
[edit]Wouldn't it be useful in the section about creating a storyline that maybe someone who knew more about it than me can write up an example on the page just to give someone an idea what you can do - I feel it would be quite useful :) Nicolizzio (talk) 22:20, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- This is an encylopedia, not a gamer site. Example storylines would not be appropriate. There are plenty of articles on IGN, Gamespot, and other sites which have videos and articles on the storyline editor.--ECWAGuru (talk) 02:35, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- Until the game comes out, no one is going to be more specific than the oddly worded "500 segments... 50 segments and 450 matches. CAWs can make 10 appearances." It is a bit vague, but that'll probably stick until release. Wonder if it's a memory limitation on the CAW thing? 214.3.138.234 (talk) 15:26, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Steve
- As ECWAGuru said, example stories would be inappropriate for a Wikipedia article, so the "vague" descriptions will stay. Actually, I don't think it's vague at all, it's pretty straight-forward. 500 events total, with a 450 match limit and a 50 scene limit. As for the 10 CAW appearances, one of the developers said it was because while sharing online, more than 10 CAW appearances would make the file size too big. Finally, in answering Nicolizzio's question, writing anything except the rules of the mode would make this article appear as an advertisement, which is specifically against the Wiki-rules. Also, when you have people writing example storylines, there could be a potential POV issue and so on, so forth. It's better the way it is right now. Cold Phront (talk) 23:12, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey sorry to ask you guys a dumb question, but do any of you know if THQ left the normal CAS call names in like (Richard, Anthony, Tyler) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.249.203.41 (talk) 00:48, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- No idea, and they're probably going to delete your question. 214.3.138.234 (talk) 18:38, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Steve
- In today's review, IGN confirmed that normal call names are not in this year's game. They only have the generic ones like "The Demon." --ECWAGuru (talk) 18:42, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- That could be worth mentioning in the article, since a lot of changes have been mentioned. It is a drastic cut back from the several pages of names (generic and real names) down to a couple dozen generic nicknames, but the announcers refer to you by it in game and the crowd will chant it. 214.3.138.234 (talk) 14:21, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Steve

Notability: Diva petition?
[edit]"However, apart from the mixed tag team match, intergender match-ups are no longer allowed." - something which has drawn significant criticism from the fanbase, far more than any other feature in the game. There is a petition on the game's official forum to remove the restrictions on Divas, which has well over two hundred signatures, when most topics on the same forum have barely five replies. Does that qualify as significant enough to be worth a mention? Other fan criticisms I've noticed include the points allocation system in Create A Wrestler mode and the fact that the restrictions on entrances are present in offline as well as online play, but they haven't provoked the same reactions as the Divas thing. However I do generally believe that fan reception is as notable for a piece of media as critical reception and commercial success, albeit harder to verify.
