[edit]Most liquidators don't know anything about games and how to earn money out of them and find running servers costly probely. So guess if a company say them, to pay few 1000s for the copyright rights, they sell, money is money.
Sony Playstation made a Video Game Preservation team, but it is unclear what they gonna do.
