Redirection Suggestion

[edit]

For ease of use, wouldnt it be easier if "Lord of The Rings Conquest" [note the lack of colon] redirected here to save people having to go through a search page?? I'd do it myself, but I have no idea how these things work... SpinachPuffs (talk) 18:29, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --SkyWalker (talk) 18:40, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi can we add the name of the theme played in the game to this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.141.117.204 (talk) 04:59, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy?

[edit]

Anybody care to explain where this supposed "controversy" about the Mines of Moria came from? Sounds like fanboy whining to me, which doesn't translate into "controversy"- if it did, then the entire Peter Jackson trilogy is a "controversy". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.111.251.45 (talk) 12:49, 23 December 2008 (UTC) Also is there any extra info on the downloadable "heroes villian and maps"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.108.193.235 (talk) 17:21, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what kind of game

[edit]

the article doesn't metnion what kind of game this is only that it is like star wars battlefront —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.88.51.74 (talk) 12:17, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Balrog

[edit]

Why i dont see the balrog as playable villain? Hes in the demo, and comfirmed, many times confirmed. -Reverend-Raph —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.63.57.46 (talk) 00:08, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He has to be confirmed by some sort of reliable source. Since we can't cite a demo we can't add him. We need an internet source for Wikipedia. --Teancum (talk) 01:35, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
you play as the balrog twice: in the mines of moria in the rise of sauron and in the shire in the rise of sauron. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.142.48.139 (talk) 18:23, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

who are the voice actors?

[edit]

I was wandering why the voice actors have not been mentioned. I wanted to know if the voice actors from the game are the same people from the movie. If anyone knows please add the information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.110.221.77 (talk) 12:17, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know for a fact they're not the movie actors, but I can't recall a site that mentions the cast. IMDB might. --Teancum (talk) 13:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DS Version

[edit]

I can't find clear information on the Ds version. Does it have both campaigns and are they shortened? Also how does multiplayer work for it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.220.106.140 (talk) 21:47, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Terrible

[edit]

Seriously, who wrote this:

Although there is a limited amount of maps the game is not at all repetitive like games like call of duty 4 for DS. Each battle has a toatally different stimulus which is greatly expanded by the different classes and the ability to respawn. All in all the DS version although not as good as the X box, PS3, or PC editions far exededed expectations. The game was done remarkably well for a limited handheld system such as the DS.

I was about to point that out. Surely the last two sections count as... what're they called? Weasel phrases? --Thejadefalcon (talk) 11:26, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting Rewrite

[edit]

The entire Gameplay section seems far too much like a review of the game than a non-biased encyclopaediatic format. I've given a brief go at rewriting the DS section, but help would be appreciated as I'm new to Wikipedia and not totally sure on what is acceptable or not. Edit: Sorry, forgot to sign my comment. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 11:03, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Total Cleanup

[edit]

I got fed up of this page being utter garbage, so I spent a week cleaning it up in a Word file before copy-pasting it back. Thanks, folks. If you have any ideas for how to improve it more (for instance, I had to rely on two printed sources for references (PCG UK 198 and OXM UK 45) as I couldn’t find them archived online), don’t hesitate. Please.

As you may or may not have noticed, I also deleted the entire Development section. Yes, all one line of it. If I can find anything useful to put in it, I’ll try to rebuild it. Otherwise, I’ll say here and it can remain undone (which, in my opinion, isn’t much of a loss given the game in question).

And yes, I’m also aware that I probably overused citations in the Reception section, but I figured that overusing citations was better than underusing them like the last version did. This way, they can always be edited out if you think they’re unneeded, rather than everybody wasting their time trying to back statements up.

And may I just point out, fixing the reception table was hell. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 11:18, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Haven't found anything for the development section yet. Admittedly, I haven't looked all that hard, but I've looked. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 13:51, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject videogame assessment

[edit]

This post is in response to a request at WP:VG/A, a happy corner of the Shire where all hobbitses are welcome to request video game article assessments, providing they don't steal the precious. The rating remains C-class - without a development section the article is incomplete, and there is at least one usable interview available (probably more). Some other suggestions:

  • Both 'settings' and 'downloadable content' are too short for standalone sections, could they be integrated elsewhere?
  • Correct me if I'm wrong but a lot of the references are literally the same source cited multiple times. It looks a little odd to see three identical references used to sledgehammer sentences into submission. I'd suggest canning the extras and finding a couple of other reliable sources instead.
  • Although it's a quality article it could do with a fresh pair of eyes to give it an edit. For instance: "The game’s AI is often cited as another weakness of the game.." spot the unneeded words, "Eurogamer and Game Informer support this issue" awkward wording when what's being communicated is they share sentiments.

That's it, it's a nice article with a lot of good wikilinking going on, it's nicely laid out, just needs some tweaking and that development section. Good luck. Someoneanother 18:10, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
