Resident Evil - Umbrella Chronicles

[edit]

Tara has confirmed on her official website that she plays the role of Red Queen. She does not play Jill Valentine in Umbrella Chronicles, she played Jill in a Japanese-only arcade/casino game. I'm getting sick of reverting this information. Source: http://www.taraplatt.com/wst_page3.html Parjay 19:40, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 Done added refs.

Snapple commercial

[edit]

She also appears in Snapple's "better stuff" commercial. After the guy brings out the box with the better stuff, she turns towards the camera and says "I love that stuff!" I just thought that was important and that it could be included in the article somewhere. I'm not sure if this could really be included, but in her twitter updates, she says that she is indeed the one that says it: http://www.thirdstone.net/access/taraplatt/?p=93. Use that info how you see fit. -- Interrupt_feed (talk) 00:55, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

All right. There was an issue where the filmography section was blanked, but I had to restore it and add sources and resolved the situation. All unsourced or poorly sourced material is being sourced per the policies on verifiability.

If there are any more reliable sources available, please post them here. As always, please keep the conversations civilized and assume good faith.

Regards, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 07:57, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I removed the filmography because it was (a) totally unreferenced and (b) in list format. I am completely mystified by the restoration of unreferenced material to this article by Sjones23. Do we have some guideline somewhere that WP:V does not apply to anime voice-over actors? That FilmandTVFan28 thinks that "Her filmography is correct" and doesn't "want to have anymore problems again" is completely irrelevant here. Wikipedia is based on reliable sources, not the assurances of one editor. Similar considerations apply at Steve Staley, Wendee Lee, Cristina Valenzuela, Courtenay Taylor, Karen Strassman and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, where in each case either Sjones23, FilmandTVFan28 or AngusWOOF has added massive amounts of completely unreferenced material to the article. Can anyone explain to me why those editors think unsourced material is acceptable here, because I'm having trouble understanding that? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:27, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very afraid that you're making this a bit worse. Can you please calm down and focus on content? Also, please do not insult or make assumptions about any editor including myself. I had to restore the filmography and readd it with sources. The article was already a mess without it. It was never my intention to hurt or upset anyone. The filmography section is an essential part of any actor's biography (even if it is a voice actor/actress) as it can be easily verified by simply watching the shows or either press releases, official cast announcements, reliable sources like ANN or resumes. In this case. I am applying WP:V here and am trying to get others involved in a discussion and I don't want my efforts, nor the efforts of FilmandTVFan28 or AngusWOOF, compounded. No ownership is intended. There are a couple of GAs on actors have filmographies that have little to no references (for example, please see the filmography section on Shia LaBeouf, which has no references as it can be verified in the credits). In the meantime, please refrain from removing her filmography until I try to get other users involved. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 11:42, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to add that the assumption that restoring the filmography = adding massive amounts of unreferenced material is incorrect. Just look at the history and you'll see plenty of editors who added to the filmography. It's fair to tag the articles as BLP sources or BLP unsourced. The material that is not contentious should stay. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:02, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As an update to this, the filmography is now sourced. It's mostly primaries, but that is acceptable for filmographies as folks can look up the closing credits themselves and confirm. There are a sizeable number of uncredited roles that only the actor has self-published WP:SELFPUB on Twitter and her resume, but not much can be done about that since no English actor credits exist on the actual program. As with other voice actors, the tweets are in good faith; if any of the claims about who she voiced are exceptional then you can debate those individually. Agent

[edit]

This is not the subjects website. If anyone cares to find her agency, they should have no problem finding it by visiting her website. Including it seems a bit promotional IMO. However, I ain't perfect, so I'd like to hear opposing views. Two kinds of pork (talk) 02:02, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Per template:infobox person, agent = The subject's agent (individual and/or agency), if relevant. I agree that the infobox doesn't need to externally link to the agent's website, just list it and link if the agent company is notable (has a wikipedia article). -AngusWOOF (talk) 02:09, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the really late notice, but aren't we forgetting that Wikipedia is not a promotional service for actors? Abrams, the agency Tara Platt works for, does not have an article and is not notable to be included. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 21:37, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agent's should not be listed, as Wikipedia is not a promotional service nor a directory. I have removed the listing, (and others), several times but every now and then someone goes through and relists them on this and similar articles. --Dmol (talk) 22:04, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You should escalate this to the infobox person template then. -AngusWOOF (talk) 23:16, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
We should discuss this on Template talk:Infobox person. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:20, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is now open at Template_talk:Infobox_person#Agent. Please comment there. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:23, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate

[edit]

All right. I've temporarily removed the unsourced birthdate per the policy on WP:V. Please provide a reliable source per WP:BLP. Thanks Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 15:45, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've found a birth year for Platt and Lowenthal from copyright.gov, but that's about it. [1] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:03, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Soulcalibur IV

[edit]

The source for this voice actress' appearance in Soulcalibur IV as Setsuka is a faulty link, as it shows absolutely nothing. Adding such information to this article without a reliable source is a logical fallacy. Homechallenge55 (talk) 15:10, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Link had gone dead and it is now fixed with archive url. Since it is a resume PDF from her website, it is under WP:SELFPUB. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:52, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Tara's credit in Soulcalibur IV has been confirmed as true, and there will be no edit war for this article. Homechallenge55 (talk) 02:10, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I'm OK with leaving out Legends and other variants. Sometimes the actors put up roles in their resumes without regards to whether their character actually makes it into the final title or video game version. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 06:36, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Podcast

[edit]

For the record I removed a podcast interview which is now a dead link. This was in the references section but was not connected anywhere in the article as an inline citation:

Temari; Naruto Shippuden

[edit]

Yes it's true she's still her voice, but then again, Temari became largely absent after the series first arc. The dividers that I put in and where they are (e.g. 2010-11;
2013) usually represent when a character/actor on a show (live-action or animated) is absent for a while and don't show up again either 2 or 3-5 years later during the show's run. Like take in Alfred Molina who guest starred as Multi-bear in the Gravity Falls episode "Dipper vs.Mannliness", his character didn't appear again until the show's last two episodes (Weirmageddon parts 2 & 3) three years later.--AnimeDisneylover95 (talk) 12:47, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I put in the note about that break. Question is whether she was involved in the show in voicing any other characters for 2011 and 2012? If so, then we can put "others" and close that range. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:52, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
