Infobox
[edit]Can anyone offer an explanation on why the infobox keeps getting removed? --El Cid 05:36, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
The subtitle of the second game is clearly (from the game's cover) Double Impact, and not 2nd Impact. -- Broken Arms Gordon 16:53, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
That's only the title of the Dreamcast compilation Nawara Ven 09:08, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be some discussion of the plot? 68.192.161.36 23:58, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
That's discussed in the individual characters' sections. Feel free to elaborate on the overall story arc. Be bold. Nawara Ven 09:08, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
I was trying to put in some CORRECT informations in this entry, then the stupid wiki people just switch it back. Come on! Any people who has played SF3 can see numbers of misinformations in this entry. Some are just totally not true and BS, I guess the wiki guys is just getting high when writing this entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.204.138.11 (talk) 01:44, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
What happened to
[edit]The character pages for Q and Twelve? They seem to have just disappeared. --Ultimo Camdawg 02:33, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- As exceedingly minor characters with little information and no appearances other than 3rd Strike, they were merged into Street Fighter III. Danny Lilithborne 02:38, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Personally, I didn't think that was very fair. Despite being very minor... there was still enough information for them to at least deserve their own pages. Q in particular had enough background information for specularization and therefor an interesting enough character.
- But, my opinion, of course, is probably moot, so everything I say probably means jack. I have no power to change this without serious trouble following (which I don't want), and nothing but words.
- Still makes me sad, and even disappointed that such characters would be treated like and deleted though, if you don't mind me saying... no offense. Ralf Loire 06:30, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Too sad......
Well then Necro probably should be deleted to. His page is slim at best(Q´s was far better)
Most characters from SFIII had no outside appearances or elaborate information, so why make the jarring change of removing just one character (as of writing this only Q's page is gone) from the character list? Killridemedly 01:28, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- If we're gonna start redirecting/merging character articles, why not start with all those obscure character who only appeared in the first Street Fighter (Mike, Joe, Geki, Retsu and Lee). Jonny2x4 00:42, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Q is the most mysterious figure in SF series, so many fans are speculating about his/hers/its identity in various forums.
To tell the truth, you upset many people by deleting the page.
Hope it recovers soon (Shell)
- Hah, good to see there are people who were as suprised as I was. I think Q's page should come back. Twelve's page was restored between the time I originally said something and now, so why not Q's? --Ultimo Camdawg 07:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree completely, Q's page should be restored. He had a perfectly good article that was satisfactory in length. It's not like Wikipedia has a limit on the amount of articles it's aloud to have or anything. If Q's page were to be restored, as well as any other street fighter character's article as well, for that matter, I would be glad to add all my information on him/her to make long enough. What happened to the Oro profile? Thought that there use to be a page about that character? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.101.199.155 (talk) 01:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Most of the pages with characters that only appeared in the SF3 series were removed. JuJube 01:44, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Most fluid?
[edit]I thought the sprites in Guilty Gear series were the most advanced from the technical aspect? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Phakedc (talk • contribs) 13:15, 6 January 2007 (UTC).
Fluidity isn't determined by resolution, but by the number of frames in the animation. Guilty Gear's animation is pretty simple in comparison to Street Fighter III. In fact, I've yet to see a sprite based game come close to it, except for maybe Garou: Mark of the Wolves. --24.250.126.23 05:38, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the status of characters in each game...
[edit]I just noticed it says Gouki/Akuma and Shin Gouki/Akuma are available in 2nd Impact, but it is not specified that both Gouki and Shin Gouki are actually secret characters in 2nd Impact, and Gouki returns in 3rd Strike as a regular character. I just felt I should point this out and maybe run that by you guys before I change it.
Also, I feel this could be an appropriate discussion if one were to see something similar concerning another character...-SkogsRickard 02:12, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I added a little something about Akuma, but I'm not sure how to write about how he is a regular character in 3s. JuJube 02:24, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Added info in the trivia section about how Gouki was made a regular character and his Shin form removed in 3rd Strike. SkogsRickard 01:52, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Parry
[edit]Removed the following passage from the Gameplay section of the article:
- Parrying may seem daunting initially, just as any skill that requires practice. To perform a Parry simply tap toward the opponent on the joystick to defend High and Overhead attacks (or down, when the attack would hit Low). Parrying too soon or too late leaves the character wide open to receive the intended attack. There is only a small window of Attack Frames (the portion of the attack that can cause damage) in which a Parry can be successful. This occurs just as the opponent's attack would make contact with the player.
I'm pretty sure Wikipedia's not supposed to be an instruction manual. Shostie 20:11, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Gameplay section...
[edit]- ...needs to be redone. As it stands, with phrases like "differing rhythm" and (most obnoxiously) "complex ballet", sounds like a glowing, gushing praise of SF3 as the most God-like fighting game ever. Ugh. JuJube 00:14, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
PS2? =
[edit]Were any of the SFIII Games released on PS2 in the US? I can't seem to find any info on it. Hill of Beans (talk) 20:59, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- It was released along whit Hyper Street Fighter II, in a "compilation" called Street Fighter Anniversary Collection.Master Bigode (talk) 21:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Gouki following the path of the warrior?
[edit]If you are going to keep that, it should be noted that Ryu does too. The difference being Ryu following Bushido and Gouki the Shurado. I think.--Kim Kusanagi (talk) 15:55, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- I would advise against keeping that as it's original research. JuJube (talk) 04:50, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Cropped
[edit]There was probablly some huge discussion about this earlier, I'm just wondering why some character's bios were completely removed (namely Elea), and whyothers remain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.53.180.89 (talk) 02:30, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- The general rule is unless a character has had more than one notable appearance outside of SF3, they get merged here. JuJube (talk) 03:11, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Sequel?
[edit]I could've swore that I've heard that Street Fighter IV is the actual sequel to Street Fighter II, and that Street Fighter III takes place after Street Fighter IV. Rattlehead (talk) 17:51, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Reception section?
[edit]Why can't this page at least get a reception section? There is enough legitimate reviews for all three games. All KoF games have been noted for being recieved, but SF3 doesn't get any? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.115.248 (talk) 23:05, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Character Replacements
[edit]The newcomers in Street Fighter III share similarities with those from Street Fighter II. Here are the characters:
Remy = Guile
Ibuki = Vega
Gill = M. Bison
Sean = Dan
Dudley = Balrog
Yun and Yang = Fei-Long
Hugo and Alex = Zangief and T. Hawk
Twelve and Necro = Dhalsim
- Well, I guess you realize that would hardly ever qualify as objective information, right? BTW, wouldn't hurt if you signed your messages. --uKER (talk) 22:23, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
3rd Strike soundtrack?
[edit]What what happened to anything talking about it? The wiki for Infinite, the rapper on the soundtrack, links to here, as someone who owns the original Japanese soundtrack can testify that he was on it, so how can we help give credit where it is deserved? Any advice or go ahead on this and I'll do it myself. -Thanks Ben S. Spaghettaboutit (talk) 08:10, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Do it, and give the source, the CD itself might credit him.Bread Ninja (talk) 16:49, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Article needs work
[edit]ok one, we should only explain new characters, and background stages should be removed. Tone needs a little work, but it's not too bad from what i seen on IV and super IVBread Ninja (talk) 16:49, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
3rd Strike Remake
[edit]It's being recreated in sharper definition for Xbox 360 and PS3. Announced yesterday at E3, you can find the trailer on youtube. http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2011/06/07/street-fighter-iii-3rd-strike-features-youtube-support-ggpo/ 2.127.84.37 (talk) 20:04, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's right. There's already mention of it in the article. Is there anything specific that you want? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:50, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Is that not a "home version" also? Meaning the one for Dreamcast isn't the only one?71.197.172.107 (talk) 17:52, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
