Shareware
[edit]I seem to recall this being released as shareware or freeware or something at one point. I do remember seeing it on various PD BBS's back in the day. -- Ϫ 23:50, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Doing three reviews in succession at the moment, but I'll make sure not to keep you waiting long. Cognissonance (talk) 22:26, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- single-player vertically scrolling shoot 'em up Pile-up. I suggest keeping the "shoot 'em up" genre and omitting the rest.
Gameplay
[edit]- Link to Mother ship.
- once they have traveled through it and will go through it again Copy edit: "once they have traveled through it and will do so again".
- and receives an extra life every 100,000 points Clarify: "and receives an extra life with every 100,000 points".
- viewing the Star Goose from behind inside a circular space I have a feeling either "behind" or "inside" don't belong there.
- and even reach the ceiling Reads as WP:POV. I suggest removing "even".
- Similar tunnels in the ground at the start of each level Simplify: "Similar tunnels at the start of each level".
Development and release
[edit]- who had been responsible previously Flow: "who had previously been responsible".
- Cain had also Remove "had" to avoid repetition.
- Graham had originally intended Refer to him by his last name, as was done with Cain, and remove this instance of "had".
- through the same tunnels that were later used in Star Goose. Unsatisfied with the result, the duo altered their initial concept and ended up with Star Goose. There is no indication of going from the racing game to something else. I read this as "it went from Star Goose to Star Goose". Please clarify.
- Graham claimed Use last name.
- The quote at the end of the first paragraph would work better if it was situated immediately after mentioning it was conceptualised as a racing game.
- The second paragraph uses "version" three times. To avoid repetition, replace with synonyms.
- Each level in the game constantly scrolls the screen upwards and contains contoured hills and valleys that the ship navigates automatically, but affect the direction of the player's bullets. Shots fired will only hit enemies when the ship is traveling at the same level; otherwise they go above or below their targets depending on whether the player is climbing a hill or descending into a valley This doesn't belong in Development, move to Gameplay if it isn't already mentioned there.
Overall
[edit]It is a well written and sourced article with a few noticeable issues. Putting on hold. Cognissonance (talk) 10:27, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Cognissonance:, thanks for the review! I believe I have taken care of all of these, although regarding the last point under "gameplay", I modified the section slightly to emphasize the fact that there is a slight difference in the in-level tunnels (which are located in hillsides) vs. the between-level tunnels (which are located in the ground). Hopefully it makes more sense now. Please let me know what else needs to be done; I'm going to take a bit of a break, and then I'll turn my attention to Cloud Kingdoms. - the duo altered their initial concept and ended up with Star Goose @Canadian Paul: This is still vague. Could you replace "Star Goose" with "a shoot 'em up game"? Just so it is established they went from conceptualising it as a racing game to finishing it as a shoot 'em up game. Cognissonance (talk) 11:36, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Cognissonance: I agree, that's much better, so I've changed it, thanks. I didn't link it this round, however, as it is already Wikilinked in the section above. Canadian Paul 12:11, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Everything has been addressed. Nomination passed. Cognissonance (talk) 12:45, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
