Should SimGolf be labelled under "The Sim Universe and Maxis"?

[edit]

This game wasn't made by Maxis. It appears that EA just put a Sim label on it to increase sales. Any other opinions before I change something? -69.19.14.16 16:48, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should overhaul that listing and indicate which Sim games are made by Maxis and which Sim games are not made by Maxis but are related to the Sim genre in some way. --Funnykidrian 04:34, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you go to the official website, you'll see that the game was a joint venture by Fraxis and Maxis. EA figured that the Sim name would be enough so that they wouldn't have to put the Maxis logo on the front. You can also notice that the layout of the webpage is nearly identical to the layout of the Sims page. Furthermore, if you play the game, you'll notice that many of the golfers are Sims-based and speak Simlish.— Preceding unsigned comment added by ScorpSt (talkcontribs) 07:39, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bit late for the discussion above, but according to the following source, the initial development was in collaboration with Will Wright (game designer) (Sims, etc.) and Maxis:

  • Ajami, Amer (May 17, 2006). "Sid Meier's SimGolf Preview". GameSpot.

I don't know how/if this info could be included. 2603:6081:1C00:1187:5023:5317:2D33:3063 (talk) 02:50, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
