Music & Sound developed by Wave Master
[edit]I'm still in the process of cleaning it up. Just because a game was developed by Sega, doesn't mean it's sound was created by Wave Master. I'll put it in chronological order in the next update, but I have a question for anybody who reads this. At what year should I start from? I think 1993 is a good date since most of the Wave Master crew began to work together on projects. Anything earlier than this was normally solo projects and before many of them joined Sega. - @Dissident93: Wave Master doesn't have anything to do with making music for games anymore - this was only the case from 2000-2004, where they also created 3 games (which are not included). I say there should be one page for "Sega Sound Team" and "Wave Master" as it currently exists, a label/distribution company.
- Are you serious? Wave Master still exists, and all of Sega's sound designers work for them. If they didn't, why are the modern games listed mostly recorded at Wave Master's studio? Wave Master Artist/Wave Master Entertainment/Wave Master Happies are the labels/distribution companies, which aren't included in the article. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:25, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Dissident93: In which games that aren't from 2000-2004 is this the case? For example, this person only has Wave Master in Panzer Dragoon Orta http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,43629/. Then people are listed in sound departments at Sega Japan http://www.mobygames.com/game/ps3/sonic-sega-all-stars-racing/credits
- Yoshitada Miya is the studio's recording/mixing engineer, so basically any game he is credited for, Wave Master should be as well. Not sure what the second link has to do with this, either. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:41, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Dissident93: Except Wave Master is not credited from what I have seen, aside from again, a few 2000-2004 games (Panzer Dragoon Orta). For Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll, Sega Digital Studio is credited. Might show where Wave Master gets credit in modern games. Not only that, but at vgmdb Sega Albumns also never credits Wave Master as well - http://vgmdb.net/org/121, Wave Master is only credited in albums these days - http://vgmdb.net/org/325. The previous second link is supposed to prove that Sega's composers have no affiliation with Wave Master - look at the Sega Japan section. There are sound departments within each development studio.
- Don't see how a British third party company crediting them that way makes it official. And yes, they haven't been credited as "Wave Master" in years, but doesn't change the fact that Wave Master Studio created the music or sound effects in all the games listed. Would Sega Digital Studio include more than their audio department? If not, then it might be more accurate to have this article under that name. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 09:13, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Dissident93: That british studio worked with the developers and the game is published by Sega, so I'd say that makes it official. And no Wave Master studio has not created anything...they would be credited otherwise! Unless you give me a source, and I have provided a couple in that Wave Master is not credited for sound. And Sega Digital Studio is still only used once as far as I have seen. Sega Sound Team has been used at least a couple of times when crediting a particular group, so I would say that is the appropiate name. EDIT: Also straight from a former employee of Sega: https://twitter.com/Hideki_Naganuma/status/605388498049171456 Tripple-ddd (talk) 10:17, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- Again, a third party source like Sumo Digital doesn't make anything official to me, not to mention Sega has always been pretty bad with their credits in games (at least 10+ years ago). The Sega Sound Team moniker is generic and has been used since the 1980's, so I wouldn't assume that's their official name. The Naganuma tweet is interesting, and if that's the case, then this article shouldn't exist at all, as Wave Master is more notable than just Sega's sound department. By the way, Sega Digial Studio is also credited in Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. (I tried to link it, but the link is blacklisted, so just google Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ending/Credits)

Sega Digital Studio
[edit]Should we make a template with all of the SDS composers (current and former) on it? I personally think it would make navigation a lot easier. DrDevilFX (talk) 19:06, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- Template? No, because they are not particularly notable as members of the studio. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 03:04, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
