Deleted

[edit]

This page was deleted citing rule A7, however, you will find the following would also fit into this category:

Including the fact that this web-application was created by Zynga who has their own wikipedia page, yet specific articles are not allowed concerning their products? How can you remove this information, when it is obviously allowed for PopCap_Games, which is a similar company? Even (most) of their game pages are available..

Is it possible for the page to be restored if the page title is changed to Mafia_Wars_(Video_Game)? Is this rule in effect because it is a browser based game only, and cannot be played elsewhere? If so, then how to you explain why the Quake_Live page is allowed to exist? In addition, isn't a large userbase consideration for the article? It has been reported that there are 9 million users in March, 2009 on Facebook alone. [1] Tripredacus (talk) 22:39, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I assume this discussion is moot since the article is still here. A game with 3,000,000 users certainly deserves an article. And, if it was to be moved (which doesn't seem necessary at the moment), it would be moved to Mafia Wars (video game). — Frecklefσσt | Talk 16:00, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Editing and Citations

[edit]

Added citations and some wording in last edit: Can this be improved on by anyone? Its a new subject article which has grown extremely quickly by any game standards online, and so this article should be updated as information becomes available by contributors if possible; Any thougthsIlliniGradResearch (talk) 14:13, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In general references should not be links to pages that sell or promote a strategy guide for mafia wars. This is spam. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.184.116.84 (talk) 07:39, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Zynga site down

[edit]

It looks like Zynga's servers have gone down, and all of the games it supports (Mafia Wars, Farmville, etc.) are non-functioning. I've heard via the various tech and talk forums that it has been down since 1830 EST. I cannot find a usable citation for this though. It does appear that thisis not the first time this has happened though. - A 207.181.229.217 (talk) 06:46, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that a server outage would hardly be appropriate content for an encyclopedia article, unless it attracted significant coverage in reliable sources. --Stormie (talk) 23:52, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Normally, i would see your point, but the game is being updated while live, and some one apparently tripped over the power cord or something. From the talk in the forums, it has apparently happened before. Repetitiveness makes it notable, I think. 207.181.229.217 (talk) 05:52, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, significant coverage in reliable source makes it notable. Have a look through [2] (Google News search for "Zynga" in the last week), there are a bunch of articles, maybe some of them talk about the outages. --Stormie (talk) 01:08, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

link 13, Mafia Wars Strategy: Dan Hanes , I would remove it. --Lastwebpage (talk) 00:29, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mafia Wars is on Yahoo

[edit]

It exists on Yahoo, but hasn't been updated in ages. There are tons of problems with it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.58.64.64 (talk) 02:11, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

7-11

[edit]

The 7-11 deal would be notable and should be included in the article [3]

[edit]

Italy has been closed as of last week. London looks set to be relaunched as a brand new city in its own right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.228.157.198 (talk) 08:35, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Las Vegas has been closed as of 1 August 2013. South Africa looks set to return as a city in its own right, like London before it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.214.148.238 (talk) 05:34, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
