Changing the article name?
[edit]Since this is about the various Top Gun games, maybe it should be called Top Gun (video game releases) or (video game series)? It's not just about one game as the article title has it now. What does the public think? --Sivak 22:02, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I can't really guess what the licensing agreement was, but the favored terminology does not lump a computer game in with a video game (being that they are considered two different things, and legally so in the Tetris case).
- The article is overlong and could probably be split into individual pages, although this might be unnecessary. Currently the article also gives out advice for "the best" weaponry (in the NES game's section), which is either original research or incorrectly cited. --Edwin Herdman 03:12, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Topg0000.png
[edit]Image:Topg0000.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Is the Top Gun Maverick Crossover DLC an appropriate addition to the page?
[edit]Understand the rollback on my edit, I'm far from a skilled encyclopedia writer. But given it was removed it seems appropriate to ask this question before trying to improve and re-add it, or before others consider the same. While not top gun video games directly, the DLC for Ace Combat and MFS feels relevant enough to fit such a page. Especially given Maverick lacks a direct adaptation to video game. But at the same time it does not mean that either of those can be considered Top Gun video games directly. 49.188.145.80 (talk) 04:48, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
