Who wrote the words and who wrote the music?

Do we know who was the composer and who was the lyricist? Was this a husband and wife team? Was it composed and written together as a truly collaborative effort with each person supplying melody and text? This article needs to have answers to these questions. Thank you.

Inbounds suggest the original song is by far the more notable use of the term.
