DYK for 2023 Speaker of the United States House of Representatives election
[edit]On 21 January 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2023 Speaker of the United States House of Representatives election, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the January 2023 election of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives was the longest speaker election since December 1859 – February 1860? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2023 Speaker of the United States House of Representatives election. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2023 Speaker of the United States House of Representatives election), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

[edit]Hello, Natg 19,
I just wanted to thank you for helping out at AFD and relisting older discussions that haven't been closed. Sometimes I feel like the only editor who relists discussions so it's great to see another editor helping out and bringing unresolved AFD discussions to people's attention. Your work is appreciated! Justin Ishbia
[edit]Hi Natg 19, I saw that you'd recently edited the Justin Ishbia Wikipedia article, so I'm posting here to see if you'd be able to review an edit request to correct his birth year and add some relevant details. My full request is posted at Talk:Justin_Ishbia. The edits that I'm asking for are a hopefully pretty simple correction to his birth year in the article introduction, as well as two additions: 1) the soccer team he has invested in and 2) two major donations he's made that have received media coverage. I work for Shore Capital Partners and have a financial conflict of interest, which is why I'm making a request and not just editing myself. Would you be able to look at this? Thank you for your help. JMShore (talk) 18:07, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @JMShore sorry, did not get to this. Seems like a different editor already made the changes. Natg 19 (talk) 20:29, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. Another editor did help me with this, so I'm all set. Thanks! JMShore (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Hello,
I've seen you helping out with the confirmation of sources. However, I see you changed the Andy Dalton page. I don't see an official source from the Carolina Panthers, may I ask where the source is? Thank you. Carhles (talk) 00:44, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Carhles: the source is [1]. There is a small note at the bottom of the article that mentions that they agreed to terms with Dalton and a few other players. Natg 19 (talk) 00:46, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Sweet, thanks for helping out with the official sources. Good day! Carhles (talk) 00:48, 16 March 2023 (UTC)

Fall 2023 fashion weeks
[edit]Hello! I hate to seem impolite but this article is very complex and I've been working on it for weeks and I am still doing a lot of sourcing and double-checking of blue links - could you please wait until each designer has a corresponding Hypebeast/Vogue/Womenswear Daily/Fashionista article before you remove the disambiguation links? The designers are at risk of being linked out to the wrong places before this is completed. Thank you Computer-ergonomics (talk) 21:20, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
- I don't see how this risk exists, but I will hold off on changing the links for now. Natg 19 (talk) 21:22, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
- I appreciate it! I know you're just trying to make the page better and it's nice to have a second set of eyes, but I only moved it out of draft space because I was doing a lot of work on an article and I want it to count towards my edits. Thanks Computer-ergonomics (talk) 21:25, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox
[edit]Hey. Hope you're well. I just modified an edit that you made to Cushitic-speaking peoples, in which you changed Orthodox Christianity to Eastern Orthodox Church. In the present case, that ought to be Oriental Orthodox Churches, which are not fully in communion with the Eastern Orthodox Churches. I noticed that you've made several such disambiguations recently, & I wanted to alert you to the distinction between Eastern & Oriental Orthodox Christianity. Take care! Pathawi (talk) 10:31, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Pathawi thanks for the note. Natg 19 (talk) 15:25, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
Tripolis ad Meandrum
[edit]Hello, I hope this message finds you well,
I've seen your recent edit regarding Theodosius of Bithynia. Since I see you are more experienced Wikipedia user than me, you might have a good solution to this problem: Suda's account doesn't specify which Tripolis he is talking about. It could be (and by different scholars has been) interpreted in different ways: it could be Tripolis ad Meandrum or Tripolis in Phoenicia, or even Tripolis in Africa (these are the Latin names). Giuseppe Auria (Q29850001) (s. XVII) even proposed that there might have been an otherwise unknown Tripolis in Bithynia.
In Suda the account of Theodosius the mathematician and of Theodosius of Tripolis (poet) are under different entries of the lexicon, that got mixed up in the renaissance tradition about Theodosius. If you find a concise way of expressing that the confusion is not in the Suda lexicon itself but has arisen in its later editions/interpretations, it would be fantastic.
If you need any sources or references for all which is written above, I can provide it. It seemd uncessesary to do so in this thread. SZC 03 (talk) 10:34, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- @SZC 03 Perhaps that sentence could just be removed then, as it is unclear which Tripolis, and it seems unnecessary to say that the account is wrong. Natg 19 (talk) 15:53, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response. Maybe it could be left as is, it is not too big of a deal. I feel thought that there is reason to specify that he was not from Tripoli since many older authoritative sources say so, and so anyone intending to read more about Theodosius has to search for "Theodosius of Tripoli" as well (and at the same time has to beware of this error).
- If you see in the in the references of the Wikipedia article you will see that the entry in the Encyclopædia Britannica is listed under "Theodosius of Tripolis" (although the author when writing his history of mathematics ten years later will say the contrary), also in Heiberg's critical edition the mistake appears in the title and is corrected in the errata corrige.
- Knowing this it is not weird that many less authoritative (or more tangential) sources still get it wrong.
- Sorry for the long and involved messages, but I could not help myself. SZC 03 (talk) 18:47, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- I just removed the link to Tripolis and left the rest as is. Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 18:56, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- @SZC 03 I would recommend adding a footnote describing the current state of academic controversy/consensus about this, whatever that might be. –jacobolus (t) 21:23, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
AMSR
[edit]There are other uses for this term. I feel that AMSR should direct to the disambiguation page and not directly to the Aqua satellite where it isn't the primary target. ArcAngel (talk) 02:59, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- @ArcAngel the disambiguation page is for "ASMR" not "AMSR" (note the slight difference). Natg 19 (talk) 03:15, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oh well. My apologies. I am dyslexic sometimes. ArcAngel (talk) 04:32, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Merlin Sheldrake Article
[edit]Hello, I see where you closed the following discussion in 2020 re: redirecting Merlin Sheldrake to a page about his book. Given the continued popularity of his book and several subsequent mentions in prominent news sources, I prepared a draft to replace the redirect which I feel better reflects the requirements for an eponymous page than the original, deleted version. Before I move it to the article space, I wanted to confer with you. FlamingMoth (talk) 13:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, on first look, I don't see that his notability has changed, thus I disagree that this article belongs in mainspace.
- But also pinging @Kj cheetham and David Eppstein:, the original nominator of the AfD, and a different respected editor who also !voted delete at the AfD, for a 2nd opinion. Natg 19 (talk) 07:32, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Does he have more than one book published, each having multiple published reviews? If not I still think this is a case of WP:BIO1E and that we don't have enough to justify separate articles on the book and its author. Also, "Given the continued popularity of his book" is a promotional reason for doing things and one that does not connect with any Wikipedia notability criterion. We base our content on published reliable sources and their in-depth coverage of our topics, not on popularity or promotional claims of popularity. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:38, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

Invitation
[edit]Hello Natg 19!
- The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
- We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
- If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

The article Motherless Brooklyn (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
RM had "deleted to make way for move" proposed for the DAB page to avoid a WP:TWODAB violation, but that never got carried through. No need for the DAB page now – the hatnote in place does a good enough job.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 06:00, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
BLP prod of Yves Frémion
[edit]Hello Natg 19 -- BLP prod is only for articles with literally no sources, including external links. This had the authority control box with multiple links to reliable database sources including Bibliothèque nationale de France, and so wasn't eligible. Moreover finding sourcing was not difficult as two editors edit conflicted over providing it when it was listed at deletion sorting. In future, please always make an effort to find sources before placing the BLP prod tag, as prods aren't always patrolled, and it's a waste of resources to delete articles on clearly notable individuals. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Espresso Addict: thanks for the note. I was not aware that the "authority control" box counts as sources for BLP. Also, I should've done more searching before putting the prod tag on this article. Natg 19 (talk) 16:54, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- Any external link counts, though it's wise to check that the authority control box links do actually contain some information, as sometimes they don't. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 01:23, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
Latin Rite
[edit]Hi! Unfortunately, quite a few of your attempts to remove disambiguation links to Latin Rite has resulted in incorrect linkages to Latin liturgical rites rather than the correct Latin Church. I don't use tools, so I've had to move through the list by hand—but I promise I'll get it done this month! ~ 21:24, 7 September 2023 (UTC) Pbritti (talk) 21:24, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm sorry. I have been using the DisamAssist tool, so I hope I didn't make more errors in my changes. Natg 19 (talk) 21:28, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Absolutely no problem! If anything, it's lighting a fire under me to make the fixes related to this term sooner rather than later. You haven't made anything worse (indeed you improved quite a bit!) and it was my fault not acting sooner. Thank you for your great editing and immediate response! :) ~ Pbritti (talk) 21:38, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
I see that you recently worked on this article.
The thing is, the woman is obviously notable, but most of her refs are in Chinese. I can't google-translate them cos all the Chinese (.zh) sites won't open for me. As an unreferenced WP:BLP it should be deleted and will be soon. There's more on the article talk page if you want to save the article. I'm not up to it myself. Herostratus (talk) 05:46, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Your article Joseph Vogel
[edit]Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page Joseph Vogel to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. Pages in foreign languages will not be kept here, and may be deleted if they are not translated into English. Thank you. BlueberryIntoTheWild (talk) 01:04, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
The article Joseph Vogel has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Isabella II move
[edit]Hello. In your closure statement of the RM for Isabella II you stated that there was "No consensus" for the page move, however you did not state why. Could you elaborate on how you got to that conclusion? UmbrellaTheLeef (talk) 00:18, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- I weighed the arguments and do not find the "support" arguments much more convincing than the "oppose" arguments. We do not use a vote count, but the votes were also evenly split between the two sides. I do not see a way that this could be moved with the current comments as they are. Natg 19 (talk) 01:06, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- Correct that the votes were even, however 3 of the opposers gave arguments based on a falsified NGRAM, [2] which compared "Isabella II of Spain" to "Isabel II of Spain" which is dishonest, because I wasn't proposing a move from "Isabella II of Spain" to "Isabel II of Spain" and "Isabel II" solely refers to the Spanish queen in English-language reliable sources. UmbrellaTheLeef (talk) 12:58, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- The proper ngram, which compares the current title to the proposed title [3] shows that "Isabel" II is by far the more common name. UmbrellaTheLeef (talk) 13:04, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- @UmbrellaTheLeef: Okay, I'll re-open this RM and let an admin close this. Natg 19 (talk) 20:58, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mac (Apple) (disambiguation)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mac (Apple) (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Orphaned non-free image File:Omaha Beef logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Omaha Beef logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:34, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
IFT-3 RFC
[edit]Not sure where to discuss this, so if you want this moved, feel free to do so.
I believe that the Autoconfirmed user, who has made 94 edits as of typing this user, is sufficiently experienced to close an RFC. Redacted II (talk) 17:23, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I fully disagree, but I do not want to continue reverting, as that falls into edit warring and the 3RR rule. An editor with < 100 edits is not experienced enough to understand Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or judging how Wikipedia does WP:CONSENSUS and should not be closing RfCs or other discussions. Generally, administrators should be closing RFCs, or editors who have been around more than a few weeks. Natg 19 (talk) 17:28, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I see no mention of the <100 rule at WP:Consensus. If that rule exists, please show where it is. Redacted II (talk) 17:30, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- Though there is no "official rule" against a new user closing a discussion, the closer does not seem experienced and did not have a good closure rationale for this closure. Natg 19 (talk) 18:33, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- While you may think the closer isn't experienced, I do. And I think their reason for the closer was reasonable.
- So, let's let the closer stand. Nothing good will come from reopening that RFC. Redacted II (talk) 18:48, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I will not be reverting or reopening the closure myself. However, I believe an administrator or other user should assess the arguments made and determine a clear consensus. The user's closure did not answer this question
Should the SpaceX Starship IFT-3 launch be categorized as (in alphabetical order) a failure, partial failure, or success in the infobox?
in a clear way, but just sidestepped it. Natg 19 (talk) 18:51, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

List of internet pioneers
[edit]Hello, Natg 19. This is Helsaj. I reverted your change of the list of Internet Pioneers page to Alpha order. I apologize for doing this without giving a reason or trying to contact you first. It is because I am a new user. I did not know how to "talk" to you first. (Now I figured it out.) However I am old and have done work on the ARPANET and Internet since the early days of the ARPANET.
I finally found the talk page for the List of Internet Pioneers page and posted a new discussion topic about Alpha order versus chronological order (in previous versions of the page). Please read my reasons therein for undoing your change to Alpha order.
Furthermore I emailed Vint Cerf (one of the two fathers of the Internet) yesterday and he agreed with me that the list should be reverted back to chronological order. If you have any doubt, I will ask Vint to contact you directly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Helsaj (talk • contribs) 17:29, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
