Talk:Id Tech 6
This article is a bit WP:CRYSTALBALL-ish. Id Tech 5 isn't even complete yet, and most information so far is speculative. Also note how the article reads "...is an OpenGL based upcoming game engine... Preliminary information about this engine which is still in early phases of development... according to John Carmack, the hardware capable of id Tech 6 does not yet exist". See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Windows 8. -- 李博杰 | —Talk contribs email 10:56, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- I initially created this article because the content was in the main id tech 5 article (if I remember well), with no sources. The informations about Id tech 6 are mainly coming from John Carmack, during E3 2008, and various interviews. I agree that this is speculation, but I think that this speculation is coming from the Id developers themselves, in publicly released content. However, I agree that maybe the tone or content of this article should be changed to reflect that. Hervegirod (talk) 13:23, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Possible update?
[edit]Id Tech 6 was mentioned during John Carmack's keynote in QuakeCon 2012. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt-iVFxgFWk, around the 3 hour 8 minute mark or so. Just a heads-up. 189.152.65.73 (talk) 11:46, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Void Engine?
[edit]Dunno how much stock should be put into rumours, but it's possible Void Engine == id Tech 6. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sslaxx (talk • contribs) 22:04, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Quake Champions Mistake
[edit]Can someone remove Quake Champions from this page? it's using the Saber3D engine rather than specifically the ID Tech 6 engine 51.6.121.148 (talk) 14:55, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- Saying Quake Champions does not at all use id tech 6 seems incorrect as well. Wouldn't it be a better idea to add the game, but add a note e.g. in brackets that it uses a hybrid between id tech 6 and Saber tech? Themediaman (talk) 11:52, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
