Flash FM...
[edit]Does anyone know why Vice City's Flash FM CD didn't have a few of the songs in the game, like Radio Killed the Radio Star, or Japanese Boy? 74.166.34.239 03:30, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Espantoso playing "mexican" music?
[edit]It seems to me that the station actually plays Caribbean-themed music, which goes along with Vice City being an approximation of Miami, known to have a large Cuban population. I'm going to change it for now. If anyone wants to contest it, please feel free to continue the discussion. --Impaciente 00:22, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
As a mexican, I agree with you, the music in Espantoso is caribbean-themed and not mexican-themed.
merges?
[edit]What do you call three Mexicans trying to steal a car?
Grand Theft Auto.
shall we start the merges of all the articles, gentlemen (and ladies)? who wants to do the honors? id be happy to help with a few of them in a week's time or so -mysekurity
- I'll take V-Rock, since I stumbled upon it while looking to redirect to WSTB (FM) (which once was called V-ROCK). After merging into this article, I'll leave V-Rock up as a disambig page to both this article and WSTB. SwissCelt 05:35, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Which should come first, [the artist (in wikilink)] - [the song title (in italics)], or the song then the artist? (is there a page on this? ill add some more as im able. thanks tho \mysekurity 00:56, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)/
- No idea. I more or less c&p'ed from the article to be merged. (Which, of course, means I also did no fact-checking whatsoever. Bad Wikipedian! No donut for me!) Feel free to change this. SwissCelt 02:09, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

External links
[edit]Speaking of failing to fact-check, I just now noticed that the site containing the dialogue scripts explicitly asks people not to do what a previous editor did: Provide a direct link to the page in question. As such, I'll be removing the links. SwissCelt 02:14, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
template box?
[edit]Should there be a specific box or table created for these stations, if anyone knows how to make it? Perhaps something along the lines of host, guest, commercials, songs, etc.? i think that might be a good idea; where every station gets its own box. maybe then, the tracks from GTA3 could also be formatted in the same way in their article. Perhaps?
- I disagree. Having several boxes on one article won't look very good, when there isn't much other material at present. Also, if you're thinking of having these infoboxes on the "station" articles, we're trying to move away from each station having its own article. SwissCelt 13:10, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Fair enough. How then do you propose to separate out these articles? Your sugguestions would be appreciated. mysekurity 20:56, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I think the best way is to use headers for each section on one article page, as has been done with the "V-Rock" station. There's not a whole lot that can be said about each station, so including them all on one page shouldn't be a problem. SwissCelt 23:08, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

artist order and station template
[edit]I personally think the artist should appear first, followed by a dash, then the song title in italics.
which would look like: Artist - Song Title
Also, I think the default station template should be changed to something slightly less akward. Just my $.02 -mysekurity
- ok, I completed all the merges, so I guess we can delete all the other pages now? I'm still wondering about the song and station templates. Maybe I'll fix them later mysekurity 02:01, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
shorter title
[edit]Would anyone mind if I moved the page to something with a slightly shorter title? Or perhaps this length is fine? It might just be me, but I feel as if Grand Theft Auto: Vice City soundtrack is WAYYY too long. Maybe something along the lines of GTA:VC soundtrack or Vice City soundtrack? We could still leave this page up for anyone who might be searching for it...I would be willing to change all the redirects and articles to the shorter title, as it would take a lot less typing. And I think I'm going to go ahead and fmt the artist - song order, unless anyone is opposed. Comments appreciated, mysekurity 03:06, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Why not just redirect GTA:VC soundtrack to this article? Go ahead and reformat the artist-song order, though. SwissCelt 03:30, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
V-Rock discography
[edit]Actually, the name of Quiet Riot's song really is Cum on Feel the Noize. It's sometimes written with the word "Come" so to avoid an obscenity in English (or just American English?) associated with the word cum. See also VH1's album info for the Quiet Riot album (Mental Health) on which Noize appears. SwissCelt 5 July 2005 22:26 (UTC)
Awesome dude, I've only ever seen it spelt the later way and thought that it was a typo. Cheers!--FarQPwnsJoo 6 July 2005 04:00 (UTC)
VCPR Segment Ordering
[edit]Just a minor nitpick, but the ordering of the various Pressing Issues segments are way off. By playing or extracting/converting the file on the game disc with a program such as MFAudio, the order comes out to be: Morality, Perception, and then Public Safety. I'm only mentioning this just to be thorough and I'll leave it to you folks to edit it if you wish.
I tried modeling the Grand Theft Auto III soundtrack article after the San Andreas and LCS soundtrack articles and it got reverted so I guess I should ask before doing it here. here is what the article would look like afterwards(I used wildstyle as an example):
Wildstyle
[edit]DJ: Mr. Magic
Genre: 80's Rap
Imaging: Frank Silvestro
Wildstyle is hosted by famed DJ Mr. Magic, who was an actual rap DJ during the 1980s, when the game takes place. The station plays rap and period electro music.
The following songs can be heard on the station:
- Trouble Funk - Pump it up (not on soundtrack album)
- Davy DMX - One for the Treble
- Cybotron - Clear
- Hashim - Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)
- Herbie Hancock - Rockit
- Afrika Bambaataa + The Soulsonic Force - Looking for the Perfect Beat
- 2 Live Crew - Get It Girl
- Run DMC - Rock Box
- Mantronix - Bassline
- Tyrone Brunson - The Smurf
- Whodini - Magic's Wand
- Zapp + Roger - More Bounce to the Ounce
- Grandmaster Flash + The Furious Five - The Message
- Kurtis Blow - The Breaks
- Man Parrish - Hip Hop Be Bop (Don't Stop)
also, can't we make a cd soundtrack section instead of saying (this song isn't on the cd) etc. --Phil 01:52, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
VCPR
[edit]Does this article REALLY need 400 words about K-Chat and 1000 words about VCPR? It makes for a very unbalanced article and it's just a laundry list of everything on the station. If someone wants they could dump all that stuff in a separate article and just provide a paragraph or two for this article. All this article really needs is a brief paragraph or two about them.
I agree. maybe just add the guests and a couple sentences to describe their attitudes and actions on k-chat and vcpr. the Grand Theft Auto III soundtrack is the same. --Phil 05:40, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
There's something missing...
[edit]Where did Emotion 98.3FM go? KnucklesEchidna 11:52, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Er...I see it there. --67.142.130.26 13:48, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Order of songs
[edit]Would it not have been better if we stuck to the order of the songs as they appear in gameplay rather than as they appear on the soundtrack CD's?
- Might be a good idea. Tayquan 07:39, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Grand Theft Auto Vice City.jpg
[edit]Image:Grand Theft Auto Vice City.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Hidden Tracks
[edit]Big Country - In a big country
I definitely do not hear the song while watching the cutscene. At the beginning, while Vercetti and party are inside the Malibu, the song that is playing is The Message by Grandmaster Flash Also, if an article is created, is there a procedure to be followed, or does one just "create it and viola"?
SCARFACE BEST MOVIE EVER 23:50, 9 July 2007 (UTC) darkworld99
- It's definitely in my copy. I think there was a few different versions of the game which had minor differences between them, so perhaps they switched songs in that scene for some reason. Dbam Talk/Contributions 15:39, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Freaks Come Out At Night
I don't hear this song in any of the numerous cutscenes in "The Job" mission. It might be helpful to identify the game version/platform that this appears in.
K-Chat
[edit]When a commercial finishes, she starts the show by saying "Hello, welcome back to KCHAT. I'm a woman!"
This is incorrect. The ditzy girl only says this sentence when introducing the feminist guest and not after every commercial break. -- J7N

Merge from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Official Soundtrack Box Set
[edit]Whoever added merge tag forgot to add a discussion, so... here you go. I support this merge since the box set article is fairly redundant when faced with this article. mattbuck 16:51, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ah yes, I forgot to do that, thanks. :) Miremare 17:37, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
well merging them would be alright, but its already better the way it is —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joelasaurus (talk • contribs) 07:55, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
The box set presents the stations in a different way to the in-game radio format, and the articles should remain separate to show this. There's already a link to the OST disc on each stations description, that's all that's needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Espiox (talk • contribs) 10:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Removed the "Trivia" title; Redundant possibly WP:TRIVIA violation since it's the only topic under it; as well as trivia not being allowed. Article doesn't seem alive, so I'm bypassing my usual 24-hour wait period of discuss before editing. Kyprosサマ (talk) 16:09, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Vrock.jpg
[edit]The image Image:Vrock.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Missing Logos / Edit Request 5/10/14
[edit]- It appears that the logos for the radio stations in GTA Vice City were removed from the artical a while back. Could they be reuploaded to Wikipedia and put on the page? The logos can be found on the GTA Wiki aswell as on photos throughout the internet. The same thing needs to be done for the other GTA Soundtrack pages from GTA 3 to GTA 4, as those logos were also removed a while ago. --24.147.1.197 (talk) 22:28, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley
Why was this article redirected to the main page?
[edit]Why does this article redirect to the GTA Vice City page or the commercially released box set of the soundtrack? The GTA3, GTA4, and GTA5 articles all have their own soundtrack pages, and Vice City had its own soundtrack page for the past 10 years. The problem with redirecting the original soundtrack page to the commercially released box set, is the box set didn't include the full soundtrack from the game. If GTA3, 4 and 5 get their own soundtrack pages, then GTA Vice City should get its old page back too.
