I think that when a game company chooses to market a game with the designers name in the title, that's quite an achivement. It doesn't happen often. You will see from the game list that this happened several times.
In a field where 2 years old generally means "obsolete" Gary Grigsby's Pacific War had players and an active mailing list almost a decade after it was released. A modified version is still being played, 18 years after the original release, with an active message board for it at matrixgames.com. War In Russia is similar. His later release War In The Pacific still sells for full original price after five years, another amazing accomplishment.
I doubt anyone in the field has achieved that kind of long term play or retention of retail value in his games, or name recognition. But its a grognard thing. <G> Bradkay (talk) 05:36, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
