Talk:G7 Teams
Update
[edit]I edited grammar and sentence structure of the information already in the article. I also felt that parts of the article were slightly biased, so I worked to neutralize that section. Chaztheweird 02:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Headphones
[edit]I'm not sure how to add it into the article, but I really doubt that the part with the headphones should be in controversy... If anything it should instead be in some section on good things G7 has accomplished.
Having it there makes it look like this is something only the G7 teams wanted, when in reality, I wouldn't say forcing competitors (esport or other) into using certain gear is popular with anyone but those making money from the advertising deal behind it. Lars Holm 14:53, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
I checked link 3 and it takes you to www.ggl.com, and not an article. Perhaps I am not looking hard enough, but I couldn't find anything on the page relating to the headphone issue. I agree with Lars in that it seems like the G7 Teams stood up for gamers' rights to choose their own gear. However, with cash prizes at stake, maybe the tournament officials were scared of crazy gamers hooking up far-out a/v spy rigs on their headphones. Seems silly, but this is the 21st century. The link should be removed and a citation needed entry placed if no one can find the article in the link. Putrid Loincloth 06:00, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Mousesports Merger
[edit]So why exactly is it being suggested that the Mousesports page be merged into this page? DarthBotto talk•cont 12:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I looked at the history of the other founding members of G7 Teams and I noticed this same thing happened with each of them, including SK Gaming. Each of those requests for merging have been denied, so it would not make any sense for Mousesports to be merged into this page for no apparent reason, considering it has more references than any other of the other teams' pages.talk•cont 12:56, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
- Support merge. The quantity of references is irrelevant because they are almost all to mouseports.com, not reliable 3rd party sources. The article contains too much regurgitated information from mousesports.com, in particular the roster. Take that out, and there's hardly anything left. Merge the article, and if the subject becomes notable enough, or enough reliable 3rd party references exist to warrant a separate article, simply split it out again. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:49, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose merge. Merging it would be pointless as the G7 teams is just some kind of "club" mousesports belongs to. The G7 is not some kind of superior organisation to the G7 clubs and there are no differences between the G7 clubs and clubs that aren't in the G7. You could aswell demand that it merges into German esports clubs. Just leave it is at it is right now.--93.131.17.72 (talk) 23:11, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
