Reception section
[edit]This section is unacceptable for Wikipedia. None of it is sourced, and a huge portion of it contains NPOV statements. Things like "It had often been considered the bar-setting standard for Game Boy and all hand held system RPGs at the time" and "Reviews of the game often praised the game for its excellent graphics, maximizing the potential for the Game Boy system, especially in terms of the enemies encountered in battle and character sprites" are unsourced. Considering that, at the very least, many people have dismissed the changes SaGaIII introduced as simply efforts to clone Final Fantasy, I would strongly disagree with the entire section. 76.28.138.83 (talk) 02:31, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Dion
[edit]Wasn't there a character named Dion? I remember him but he is not mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Electricbassguy (talk • contribs) 10:21, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Story description
[edit]While the GB Legends games hardly have plots comparable to later 16-bit and 32-bit RPG's, the plot description for this game is rather lacking. It sounds like something read off the back of a box. I mean, come on, a Temporal Entity appears and begins to flood the world, releasing evil/ poison water that makes monsters, and the whole world will be flooded and lost within centuries. Time traveling to try and fix things in the past and future, culminating with a climactic battle. Characters dying, self sacrifice, etc. Shouldn't the article reflect that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 153.90.69.215 (talk) 01:41, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
I started the backstory. A formal plot for the game I hope will follow. HoundofBaskersville (talk) 20:17, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

I have little experience with these games, but let's give this a go. I intend to be back with a review before the end of the weekend.--AlexandraIDV 01:08, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Images
- (not mandatory for GA) It would be great if alt text could be added to aid readers with impaired vision
- The screenshot's caption is very basic. I would expect it to say something about the battle system at least.
- Looking at the development section, we have images of Ted Woolsey and the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk (included in their respective articles) - you could add one or both to the article.
- Since the DS version is a remake with 3D graphics, would it be possible to add a screenshot from it as well for comparision?
- Infobox
- We avoid reduced font sizes in infoboxes for accessibility reasons, since the text in infoboxes already is smaller - see MOS:SMALL
- Lead
- Why is the Japanese title mentioned first? On a related note, why is the game referred to as SaGa 3 throughout the article? If it is the name the game is the most well known under, why is the article titled Final Fantasy Legend III.
- You say the Switch version was released worldwide (and later that the English language option was available worldwide) - is it then maybe more correct to say that Final Fantasy Legend III is the English name rather than the Western name?
It was the last Western SaGa release until SaGa Frontier for the PlayStation.
- would recommend giving a year here for context
- Gameplay
Humans and Mutants
- these aren't proper nouns and shouldn't be capitalized like that. Same applies for monster, cyborg, beast, and robotTravel between eras is carried out
- you haven't yet mentioned in the article body that you can travel between time periods, so this comes kind of out of nowhere.- Based on the date format, I assumed this was intended to be written in American English, but I also see an instance of
customised
(as opposed to customized) - either is fine, just make sure the same variety of English is used consistently The Nintendo DS remake retained the original story, but removed
- retains, removes. Unless we're talking about the act itself of the developers changing things, this should be in present tense as the game continues to exist.
- Synopsis
sealed the ravaged Pureland away and scattered the Talon
- Talon should be consistently italicizedThe Water Entity was manifested as an act of vengeance from Pureland's primal water deity Xagor After breaking into Pureland
unclear if a word is missing here or just a period. In his last act, Sol destroys Water Entity
- the Water Entity
- Development
and a Super Famicom entry titled Romancing SaGa begun at the request of Nintendo.
- you should link Nintendo since this is the first mention of them, and explain that they are the manufacturer of the Super Famicom to give context for why Square would be asked by themSaGa 3 was designed to be more like a traditional role-playing game
- does this mean a game typical of the role-playing video game genre, or similar to tabletop role-playing games?
- Release
Sunsoft later licensed the game for a reprint in April 1998 alongside the other three Square titles for the Game Boy.
- what are the other three Square Game Boy games?
- Reception
The DS remake debuted in eighth place in sales charts, with opening sales of over 27,300 units.
- should mention that these are Japanese sales specificallystating that the game had "[e]xcellent game depth
if you're just changing the E to lower case, adding the brackets is a bit overkill
- References
- (not mandatory for GA) - you cite several publications that are just regular video game magazines rather than academic journals, and therefore should be using {{Cite magazine}} rather than {{Cite journal}}
Looks pretty good - I will leave this on hold for the usual seven days. Please ping me when you have addressed the above or if you have any questions!--AlexandraIDV 23:05, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Alexandra IDV: I think I've addressed all the pressing concerns, and also did the Cite Magazine thing. --ProtoDrake (talk) 11:41, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Apologies for not returning to you sooner. I did a few further edits, but I think it's good to go for GA by now.--AlexandraIDV 23:58, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
