Follow-up on Rollback

[edit]

Hey ProtoDrake, I remember talking to you on the Discord server about your use of rollback in a content dispute at Dragon Quest IX. I was looking through your contribution history with it, and I saw that you haven't generally used it for vandalism or in situations where the reason for reverting would be absolutely clear (WP:ROLLBACKUSE). I've seen proper uses of it like fixing this obviously broken tag at Bogeyman [1]. But this edit was good-faith, and an edit summary why these subheadings aren’t needed would have been better. Same thing here as it's not immediately clear what the problem is with this IP's edit and you didn’t give them a ping or talk page comment for what was wrong. I saw this here and here where it's not immediately apparent what the matter is either. Seeing as you haven't used it much, if you want rollback removed, I can do that since it can be used interchangeably with Twinkle, though Twinkle has the advantage of providing an edit summary which can give a reason for the revert. Or you can keep rollback for now if you would like, just be sure to be careful and make sure the reasons for your revert are absolutely clear. Thanks again and good luck on your next projects. @Fathoms Below: Changing me from Rollback to Twinkle (if that's what you mean) would probably be for the best. Avoid any further issues, since I don't think I can trust myself to use it properly. I might very easily slip or forget again. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:21, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done I removed rollback from your account. You should be able to use Twinkle automatically since most users with more than 10 edits can use it. I'm not sure which skin of Wikipedia you use but you should be able to access Twinkle by going to the Preferences page for your account, Go to the Gadgets section, click on Twinkle to make sure it's checked, and then save preferences. Once you've saved Twinkle, there should be a drop-down menu somewhere on your screen. Twinkle can be used for other things than rollback, but for directions on how to rollback using Twinkle once you've enabled it are located here.
