Dragon's Dogma 2 → Dragon's Dogma II – The lead to this article has the most ridiculous use of "stylized as". I know this is gonna sound very other stuff exists-y, but games like Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Kingdom Hearts III properly use Roman numerals. - Support Makes sense. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:03, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: The "stylized as" note is definitely silly looking, but the difference is that games like KH III use roman numerals everywhere, whereas DD2 only uses them in its logo. On store pages, social media, trophy lists, etc (any official media where the name is written out), it's spelled Dragon's Dogma 2. The same situation happened with Red Dead Redemption 2 a few years ago, where there was a whole discussion about it. TheHumanIntersect (talk) 04:22, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Per WP:COMMONNAME. Literally every source uses "2", none use "II". ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:14, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. Compare: on 28 October 2023, Alan Wake 2 was proposed to be moved in the opposite direction: II => 2. It ended up being accepted due to WP:COMMONNAME. All the media use Dragons Dogma 2 anyway. Nicole. Oh, she's elegantly clandestine... ✨ 09:00, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose even Capcom's website uses Dragon's Dogma 2 in text, rather than using the II. Zombles - Talk to me 10:32, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
List of Clues:
- Executable namefile: DD2.exe;
- Any DLC are named as Dragon's Dogma 2: Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor;
- See also promo video named: Welcome to Dragon's Dogma 2 - Presented by Ian McShane;
- the same for standalone editor named: Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator ...
- End User License Agreement on Steam are: Dragon's Dogma 2 EULA.
At last: Roman Number II are just used on logos, graphic artwork. --CloudHighway (talk) 14:23, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Source for when DD2 STARTED development
[edit]Interview with VG247, released on March 24th, 2024 (a few days after game launch): https://www.vg247.com/dragons-dogma-2-12-years-in-the-making#:~:text=%E2%80%9CSo%20ultimately%20it%20was%20about,kept%20you%20waiting%2C%20huh%3F'
Essentially the game started development around 2019, so about a five-year dev cycle. 2607:FEA8:7495:D300:31AE:314E:AA3D:6FDF (talk) 15:15, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
Why is the plot section empty?
[edit]Is someone gatekeeping this? First time i'm seeing triple-A game not have a plot section on wikipedia, almost 4 months after release. 5.165.14.230 (talk) 12:58, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
