Merger

[edit]

This really isn't a new game, not in the sense of being a true sequel. It's a new (enhanced) port, and as such should be part of the main article on the first game, not split off on its own.oknazevad (talk) 21:06, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Its essentially a remake of the original arcade game, but I also think its different enough from the original to warrant a separate article at least, just like Castlevania Chronicles (remake of Castlevania) or the Nintendo DS version of Final Fantasy III. Hmm, didn't realize that Chronicles was on a separate page from Castlevania.
It makes sense not having separate pages for ports, but enhanced remakes are more puzzling. They are, essentially, ports of the same game, which implies that they should be on the same page, but remakes of movies get their own, separate page, like King Kong and King Kong.
I guess the real question is which model to follow. Are they the same game appearing on a new platform, like any other port? Or are they different creative works, like a film remake? As I write this, my thoughts now tend toward separate pages. But I think we should leave the proposal up for a bit more to see if there are any other comments.oknazevad (talk) 21:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
