Is it really necessary to have the lines "It should also be noted that no one in this zone is either friendly or interested in fair play. It can be very hard for new players to get started here because they are preyed upon mercilessly by players with better ships. Some players go out of their way to ruin the gaming experience for others. " For the description of rogue trader? this statement of "fair play" is debatable in the sense that the zone is designed to be a chaotic, No-holds-bared, free-for-all. I've played this zone when it was hot and most "Newbies" got along OK if they paired up with helpful people, such as me. --Wallaby 04:13, 28 December 2005 (UTC) (A.K.A Thox, #1 Rogue Trader Player through 2003)[reply]

You are just mad because you cling on pathetically to a dead game - Devil

He has a point though. Rogue trader was rough for newbies, but a large portion of the players were peaceful "miners", not pirates. Quite often someone came to help if you were under attack. Or that's how it was in the old days when the game was free. --Nulb0ard 06:32, 15 July 2006 (UTC) (A.K.A NovaTech, one of the peaceful miners 2001-2002)[reply]

In the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

Closing

[edit]

Added a small subsection to History to mention the closing of the game.

I didn't want to contaminate the article with heresy or ranting, but it should be noted these games had minimal (to non-existent) development resources from SOE so their reasoning given for the closure is an outright lie.

In fact, the few developers/maintainers of these games left were not relocated but actually fired: http://www.freeinfantry.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1568 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thosesprayingships (talkcontribs) 21:54, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
