In any case, I suppose another thing to consider is that the article is treating specifically written forms of official languages and so this should reflected in the title somehow. Munci (talk) 18:04, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"Differences in the official forms of written Chinese" or something more along that lines? That way, with "written" before "Chinese", you can tell it's no talking about ethnic group. Munci (talk) 20:45, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but if Chinese is many languages, then there must be many differences within China proper (or whatever the name is for the PRC excluding Hong Kong and Macau). Right? And this article (for whatever reason) deals only with differences between China proper and its special territories and other states. Its scope doesn't fully cover the issue of Chinese differences. So certainly the present title is wrong (I expected it to be about differences between Mandarin and Cantonese or whatever), but if we want to give it another title, it can't just be "Chinese differences", there must be some qualification to show that we're talking about "international" differences (though I'm not sure that Hong Kong and Macau count as nations).--Kotniski (talk) 11:47, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Suggestion The proposals strike me as about as bad as the current title. (Apart from Munci's last suggestion, which seems okay.) Maybe s.t. like Differences between national standards of Chinese ?
