This needs a re-write
[edit]I've never edited a page to the extent that this one needs, all I've ever done is list Assault Suits Valken under Satoshi Urushihara's work. In fact I don't know anything about how to edit a wiki article. Just writing this in the talk page has taken quite a bit of learning.
This article is about the game 'Cybernator', not 'Assault Suits Valken'
The character names are INCORRECT, those are NOT the listed names of CYBERNATOR, those are the listed names of the 'Fan Translation' of ASSAULT SUITS VALKEN, all names are official (According to the GAME, not fans). And the name 'Crea' was not a mistranslation, she is listed as 'Crea Coral' in Satoshi Urushihara's artbook, character designer for the game. The whole characters section needs to be redone; Again, this article is about 'Cybernator', not 'Assault Suits Valken'
The characters/names listed in the artbook are as follows:
Jake Brain, Crea Coral, Alef Berdach, Geltz, Chack Jonston, Schermark.
(The 3 other characters 'Herman', and 'Apollo/Kurt', and the unknown soldier are not included in the art book.) (If Need be, I can provide links to the pages.)
Although I do believe that their should be information about Valken, here, instead of creating a page for it. Maybe have a differences section? I'd also like to see where some one got the information that Valken takes place 10 years before the first Leynos*.
For now, I will add both sets of names to the character section.

- I agree, since this game was already professionally translated and marketed commercially in North America. I don't find the fan translated names to be very notable, especially considering the official artbook names.地炎風水闇陽 (Talk) 18:11, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
I corrected a few things and added some, have no idea why Crea was written as Claire ergh... I never forgot her name being Crea, as it's a name I've not seen before and rarely since this game. Also not sure if it's directly translated from the NTSC manual but the english 1 is laughable with the Cybernator specs, a 5storey tall hulk that weighs a mere 5tons... Japs and their bios for weight are so poorly done... Putting that into perspective a bus that's less than 1 storey high outweighs the Cybernator! If it were 5tons it would be much faster too, it should be in the 10s of tons region like the Mechwarrior mechs etc, also the laser weapon's description was poor too in the manual, that weapon has a fast reload, not slow! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.194.189.124 (talk) 07:07, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

Censorship
[edit]I always wondered, why on Earth did they remove the character pictures? Wouldn't this have helped to understand who is talking??? Would save some memory removing them,that's my hunch. If anything Cybernator and other anime esque games if anything sold well cos of their theme so would have benefitted the game keeping the avatars rather than just seeing text after text and Cybernator has a lot! Yes I played Assault on emulator and it was a revelation to me what they cut, it was nice to see Beldark at last and he was menacing as I expected. Similarly for the original version of Sega Saturn's Guardian Heroes they removed the voices in the intro FMV in the western releases. Toshiro Tsuchida
[edit]Superplay calls him the "Creator" of this game. Given how loose the gaming media is about the term "creator", I've intentionally not used that language on this page. I kept it down to the basic facts: his role as producer, and his later role in Front Mission. What his actual role in this game is, I'm not sure. As producer he'd be the manager, and likely started the project. Possibly came up with the scenario? He later wrote Front Mission, so it's not impossible.
