Bachelorette + YuGiOh

[edit]

Andrew made an appearance as "Manny" in the movie, Bachelorette which he should be credited for. [1]

He is also in the English-dubbed version of Yu-Gi-Oh! which I believe he should be credited for also. [2]

A couple of quick edit requests:

1) In the first paragraph under "Early Life," please change this sentence: He has is the fourth of five siblings: three sisters (older sister Becky, another older sister, younger sister Natalie) and an older brother, who still live in Omaha.

To this sentence: He is the fourth of five children. He has two older sisters and one younger sister (Becky, Natalie, and Julie), and an older brother (Dan), all of whom still live in Omaha.

Reason for change is to correct typo and provide more complete information about his family. Source is an article that is already referenced: Fischbach, Bob (May 1, 2011). "He has drive — and now Broadway". Omaha World-Herald. http://www.omaha.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20110501/LIVING/705019893

2) Under "Theater" in the Career section, the dates for his stint in Hairspray, and his stints on the Jersey Boys tour and Jersey Boys on Broadway are incorrect.

Please change this: Theater

2011: The Book of Mormon (Broadway: Original Broadway Production) − Elder Price (originated role)
2006: Jersey Boys (US Tour: 1st National Tour) − Bob Gaudio (replacement)
2006: The 60's Project (Chester, CT (Regional): World Premiere) − performer
2005: Jersey Boys (Broadway: Original Broadway Production) − Bob Gaudio (replacement)
2002: Hairspray (Broadway: Original Broadway Production) − Fender (replacement); Link Larkin (replacement)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Firstly you'll need reliable sources to change the dates and whatnot, and as for the other minor formating change, why? — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 11:35, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: It looks like some sources have been added above my post instead of below it (where they would have been easier to find and see this request has improved), but I still don't see an answer to the fundamental question of "why"... — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 15:25, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the placement of the changes to the edit request. I wasn't sure of the correct protocol. As for "why?" It's for the following reasons:

1) the information about his family has a typo and could be more complete. I figured it was worth it to provide more complete information than less, and that typos should be corrected. 2) the dates listed under the Theater section are simply inaccurate/incorrect.

I have provided sources. I guess I don't quite understand how else to justify asking for an edit. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks. Average jane doe (talk) 16:10, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Already done Thanks for trying to correct that first sentence. Someone has already corrected the typo and removed the names of his siblings, and their town of residence, to help maintain their privacy. Celestra (talk) 21:21, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done Regarding the dates, the article currently has the original opening years for the 'shows', while you are trying to switch to the year he appeared in the shows as a replacement. That seems reasonable and doesn't violate any policies or such, so I've made the change. Regards, Celestra (talk) 21:21, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the following paragraph to the Career section, after the sentence, "As a voice actor, Rannells appeared in several 4Kids and DiC television programs and video games, such as Yu-Gi-Oh!":

Before winning his first Broadway role, Rannells took part in a number of regional theater productions, including Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Miss Saigon, and Thoroughly Modern Millie[1]. For his turn as Hedwig at the Zachary Scott Theater Center in Austin, Texas, in 2002[2], Rannells was nominated for and won for best actor and actress in a musical at the B. Iden Payne Awards in September 2002, which honor outstanding achievements in Austin theater[3].

Hi, thanks for making the edit. It looks like part of one of the sentences got left out though, so it doesn't quite make sense. Could you change this sentence:

For his turn as Hedwig at the Zachary Scott Theater Center in Austin, Texas, in 2002,[9] Rannells and actress in a musical at the B. Iden Payne Awards in September 2002, which honor outstanding achievements in Austin theater.[10]

To this, as was in the original edit request:

For his turn as Hedwig at the Zachary Scott Theater Center in Austin, Texas, in 2002[4], Rannells was nominated for and won for best actor and actress in a musical at the B. Iden Payne Awards in September 2002, which honor outstanding achievements in Austin theater[5].

[edit]

The information stating that Rannells won both best actor and actress at the 2002 awards in Austin is incorrect. Here is the text from the Austin Chronicle article cited:

Actor & Actress, Musical: Andrew Rannells, Hedwig and the Angry Inch Leslie Stevens, Sweet Charity

[1]

As you can see, while his name does follow the category "Actor & Actress, Musical", you need to read one line down to find the name of the actress listed. Please correct. ThanksAnnamonas (talk) 00:30, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He should be credited with his current role on Broadway as Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Hedwig and the Angry Inch should be listed at the top of page as one of his Broadway appearances in addition to its inclusion in the career section. Here is a reference:

For god's sake, yes. We're an encylopedia, not Entertainment Weekly. If I thought it would get anywhere, I'd start a proposal to deprecate any mention of relationships in BLPs unless they're reported by multiple impeccable sources. RivertorchFIREWATER 02:55, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removing "Falsettos" from lead

[edit]

Jovons529, may you please explain the removal of "Falsettos" from the lead please? Thanks. --George Ho (talk) 13:03, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi George Ho, my interest in removing "Falsettos" was a matter of repetition. That particular production is mentioned in the previous sentence, so the sentence that I edited - starting as it does with "other Broadway credits include" - should not incorporate a redundant listing of the same play. This is my first time editing an article as a Wikipedia user, though, so please let me know if I am mistaken in my consideration of grammar. Thanks for reaching out! --Jovons529 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:24, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh... I re-check your edit and realize it's already mentioned in the lead. My bad. Thanks. --George Ho (talk) 02:39, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
