Music

[edit]

Why is the music deleted every time it is put onto the site why does it need to be deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Majicmilla (talkcontribs) 13:57, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook

[edit]

Seriously, are we using something someone said on facebook as reference now?

Now I'm not saying I don't believe this "Robert" guy on facebook, but he went wrong on this bit "I just rung up Tru Blu Entertainment and spoke with one of there developers on the game" (Tru Blu are based in Sydney and are the Publishers, so how did he talk to one of the developers who are Big Ant and based in Melbourne) so should we honestly believe a word of it?

Plus, come on, it's facebook! It's not an official page, it's a fan page not endorsed by either Tru Blu or Big Ant.

I vote revert. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sequal1 (talkcontribs) 06:12, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've just realised that the Robert on facebook may be the person that edited the page to add Facebook as a reference (just clicked on his User page and it has his real name on it).
I hope you don't take offence to my comment, but I still vote revert. If this is the case, surely you can't use something you said yourself as reference, especially on Facebook. I could make something up and post it now and then use it as reference (not that I'm saying for one second that the Facebook user did this) Sequal1 (talk) 07:37, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just to prove my point, the original writer is telling someone else to f off (among other things) in the thread. I really don't think we should use this for a whole bunch of reasons, mentioned here and above. Reverting it now. Sequal1 (talk) 21:33, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ive rung them up to get some information on the game. Publisher has a bit to do with the developer. The guy I spoke to helped out with the game. He told me this information. His name is what I put down. I sorry, I shouldn't have reference to that page. If you want you could ring them up to confirm it. GuineaPigWarrior 5:40, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't doubt you for a second, my issue was the use of facebook. Sequal1 (talk) 22:29, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I rung up Big Ant and they told me to ring Tru Blu, I rung them up, and they told me they do mostly everything. Big Ant just develop it. Tru Blu tell them what to do and stuff. Ring them up and ask cause I would really like to put this information back up. GuineaPigWarrior 14:40, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Even if I rang them we still wouldn't have any reference for our claims. As soon as they release any information I'm sure it'll be up on here within minutes, until then I think we're just going to have to wait. On a separate note, as a games developer myself, I can tell you that Big Ant will be designing the game, creating the artwork, programming and QA'ing the game. Tru Blu will be the ones dealing directly with the AFL etc. My personal opinion would be that whoever you spoke to at Tru Blu was exaggerating their role in the development process. They wont be "doing mostly everything" ;-) Sequal1 (talk) 07:26, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What you can post is the info from these [1][2]. As you can see from the first link, the poster is the CEO of Big Ant, so is good reference. I would do it myself, but I'm no good at writing these things, I just know what reads well when I read it. Sequal1 (talk) 11:25, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Facebook simply breaches Wikipedia's rules relating to verifiability. Its not a personal thing against the website. Its just that its not considered a verifiable and reputeable source. Better to use an article on a game journo's site or on a developers site.--Senor Freebie (talk) 00:15, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BigFooty

[edit]

Hi guys, FYI this information on BigFooty is correct. It's also the original source and where the likes of Facebook and Game Forums are getting their information from.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=731979

Bigant Studios have also confirmed this on their site.

"Q. Where can I find out more! A. Ross Symons, CEO of Big Ant Studios, posts frequently on Big Footy, you will find snippets of screen shots and can converse with him there at www.bigfooty.com" — Preceding unsigned comment added by AntB77 (talkcontribs) 03:36, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its good to see there is an official mention of the forum based QandA otherwise it wouldn't really be a valid source per WP's rules.--Senor Freebie (talk) 03:42, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We now have a 5 second video grab

Release dates in dispute

[edit]

Here, without a reference it states that the Wii game will come out before AFL Live, while Wicked Witch have said they will come out at approximately the same time. If anyone finds a source with better information do what needs to be done.--Senor Freebie (talk) 05:04, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going to revert it, but why is it some IP reverted my changes which used the publisher as reference for the release date over Game, who are clueless. The publisher hasn't released a date yet so how would Game know? Also, HES have also put April down as a release date for the Wii version, so that too should be marked just as April, not "before AFL Live" as this is the most accurate information we have.
