Request on 02:46:41, 13 November 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by LanceT

[edit]

Hi, I would like help to finish our company page GB & Smith

Hi I got messgae from my reviewer SwisterTwister: One of the issues here is that the sources are not formatted with the information. With that said, this could also use any more available coverage than the currently listed sources. Can someone help me with that. I have doen a Wiki page a few years ago and di not have such issues. Kind regards LanceT (talk) 02:46, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@LanceT: Hi, thanks for dropping by the Help Desk! The issue with the references here is that there are not inline citations in the document. This makes it difficult for readers to determine which parts of the draft are supported by which references. It's nice to see a footnote as you're reading that lets you know where you can go to learn more about that particular claim.
There's a really useful page at WP:REFB that explains exactly how to add "footnote"-style referencing into your document. Take a look at try to implement it in your draft.
Another problem with the draft is that it is written in a very promotional tone. Wikipedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, which means eschewing advertising and promotion. Remove any references to "us" or "our", and consider rewriting the "Innovation" section to be more neutral and objective in tone. I would also caution about the use of buzzwords like "innovation", "solutions", "unique" and the like, as they further the advertising feel. Thanks, /wia /tlk 03:34, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am wondering how it is that, until I created this article, no article for Harnett Kane existed, then one is added and mine is deemed to be the duplicate. How does it happen that someone else's submission was accepted before mine? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that there is one at all. I am only curious as to how that one became the article so that mine is the dupe? I am not asking for a re-review.

Life. That is the only answer. It happens. Do feel free to improve the article, that is what Wikipedia is all about. Fiddle Faddle 09:02, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Carunzel, if you do decide to improve the mainspace article, please be careful to write all text in your own words, and not use text that is published elsewhere. Most of the draft you submitted had to be deleted because of copyright issues. Each article is a collaboration of many editors' work, and doesn't belong to anyone in particular, so it doesn't matter really who initiated it.—Anne Delong (talk) 04:11, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I get all that. It was meant to be a place holder until I could come back, but life interfered. I was curious about "mine" versus the other along the lines of people inventing things around the same time. I don't care that someone else's got accepted; "mine" is a way to differentiate what I was talking about. Not really looking for a lecture, but thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carunzel (talkcontribs) 06:41, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I just create an article on wiki - Profile of Dr. Siddeek Ahmed - CMD Eram Group (November 5). But it got rejected. The reason it say is "not suitable for wikipedia". Can you please explain me more on this?

Regards, Rk

I wonder if you have been to the draft and read the comment left there for you to consider? Fiddle Faddle 09:00, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be running into a problem with blank things. Your sandbox is blank and so is this question. Please would you try to let us know what help you need? Fiddle Faddle 15:48, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was wondering why my article wasn't submitted? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:William_Lemon_(Makeup_Artist)

Thanks!

Hi Cal.gilli - Your draft was submitted, by you. I think you mean why wasn't it accepted. While Wikiisawesome's message is brief, it is a pretty complete reason as to the issues with the article. Did you get a chance to read that? Onel5969 TT me 19:10, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
