Welcome to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) task force of the Water sports WikiProject. Some Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of RNLI-related articles and the organization of information and articles on this topic. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic.

Goals

WikiProject Water sports has a few longstanding goals, which are in place to provide a direction for expansion.

  • To ensure that all marine-activity related articles are always expanding and being improved.
  • Establish a large, active member base.

Title format for station articles

Articles about lifeboat stations should be titled with capital letters as per WP:NOUN.

  • Pwllheli Lifeboat Station
  • Weymouth Lifeboat Station

Title format for lifeboat articles

Articles about actual lifeboats should be titled as follows (the italics for the title are added by the {{Infobox ship}} template):

  • RNLB Aguila Wren (ON 892)
  • RNLB Lloyds II (ON 986)
  • RNLB Blue Peter V (B-833)

If a lifeboat does not have a name, then the article should be titled using their hull number:

  • RNLB B-536

Details for the station's first lifeboat on the first row, the second on the second row, and so on.

The 'At station' column can be changed to the station name (e.g. 'At Dover') if it does not make the column too wide.
