Structure

[edit]

Apps

[edit]

The following suggested structure serves only as a guideline. Please adapt it according to the particular necessities of your article. It is always a good idea to study related/similar articles with a good rate classification.

Suggested structure:

  • General description focusing on the highlights of the app.
  • Infobox (consider using either Template:Infobox software or Template:Infobox video game)
  • Gameplay (app game) or Features (productivity app, educational app,...)
  • Development
  • Release
  • Reception
  • Awards
  • See also
  • References
  • External links (usually contains a link to the official website)
  • Categories

If you are writing about a mobile game, please consider looking at the specific guidelines for video game-related articles and Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games.

App developers

[edit]

Typically, these articles refer to either a company (e.g. King (company), Duolingo) or a person (e.g. Alexey Pajitnov, Andreas Illiger). You must be sure that the developer meets the Wikipedia:Notability criteria. As a general rule, developers are only notable if their products are also notable.

The following suggested structure serves only as a guideline. It is always a good idea to study related or similarly structured articles with a high-class rating.

Suggested structure:

  • General description focusing on the highlights or achievements of the company.
  • Infobox (consider using Template:Infobox company)
  • History (in the context of WikiProject Apps, please refer to the launch date of key products)
  • List of apps (name, release date, platforms)
  • References
  • External links (usually contains a link to the official website)

Also note: If the developer is a living person, please refer to the biographies of living persons and notability for people policies. If the developer is a company, please refer to the guidelines suggested by WikiProject Companies and ensure that the article meets the notability criteria for organizations and companies.
