Wikipedia:Stop writing

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stop writing! You may go again after you found 3 good sources.

When drafting a new article in Articles for Creation:

  • Write ONE (1) small paragraph that neutrally describes the topic
  • Then Stop Writing
  • Then concentrate only on finding THREE (3) independent and reliable sources that significantly discuss the topic

If you found at least 3 good sources, then your draft just may have a chance! Now you can start writing again, enjoy! Maybe add another paragraph, maybe even two! But don't go overboard. Keep it short and simple and cite your sources.

Didn't find 3 good sources? Don't worry, there is no deadline. Keep on searching for sources from time-to-time, while you enjoy working in other areas of Wikipedia.

But wait, it got declined again!

[edit]

Oh no! Did you submit your new short and simple draft that you thought had 3 good sources on it, but it was still declined by a reviewer? They may be part of an evil conspiracy to stop you from contributing to Wikipedia, or they may not. Either way, take a breather and research these THREE (3) questions:

Don't panic if you're not sure what to do. Feel free to post a polite request at the Help Desk for assistance before submitting your draft again.
