See Me Not

Kudpung deleted the page because of A9 (Music recording by redlinked artist and no indication of importance or significance). But I created the article about the artist Saroos. -Cvlwr (talk) 19:09, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

  • (Non-administrator comment) Kudpung did say "If the Saroos article is kept at AfD you can ask any admin to restore your See Me Not article - politely of course, or just recreate it after ensuring that all claims in it are correctly referenced" so unless there are some glaring problems in the article that could require userfication, I think that it can and should be restored. Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:38, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
I asked Kudpung to restore it. But he refused and said "I just don't want anything more to do with it". He is an administrator, isn't he? Cvlwr (talk) 21:16, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Gísli Örn Garðarsson

Since the article was deleted Gísli has appeared in Prince_of_Persia:_The_Sands_of_Time_(film). He played Zolm, the main villain, as noted in the plot synopsis for said film here on Wikipedia. He's also on IMDB for that part. In 2010 he was also awarded the The Order of the Falcon by the Icelandic president for his contribution to and expansion of Icelandic theater. See Vesturport's coverage and the office of the Icelandic president (in Icelandic) I'm not sure that the article should even have been deleted in the first place, as there were two interviews with him due to his innovative work in theatre in the UK around 2005 and 2006. One in the Telegraph (link) and another on BBC (link). -Jonthoroddsen (talk) 00:51, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

List of open source computer hardware suppliers

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open_source_computer_hardware_suppliers This article has been deleted on the basis of WP:NOTDIR and/or WP:NOT#REPOSITORY, from what I can gather from "Articles for deletion/List of open source computer hardware suppliers". Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields

Basically, the article was deleted as not being notable (one or two article links at the time), but it is used on hundreds of articles (I think the number is around 600-700 at this point) and is used on many articles to cite that the closed airport itself actually existed. I wrote the article and hoped on expanding it at some point, but had not really begun to use AWB until recently in order to link and correct all the internal mentions. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 01:24, 30 June 2012 (UTC) -Kevin Rutherford (talk) 01:24, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

"little-known" in particular is an incredibly subjective term here. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:09, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
  • It is not a list of little known airfields, it is actually a proper noun, the title of a web site. That is why the title does not make sense from a WP:TITLE point of view. Because it is about a web site that is why it qualified under A7, if it was actually a list itself it would not qualify for speedy delete. I am hoping Kevin Rutherford will explain in the draft why this web site is special so that it can avert A7 as an article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:55, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

File:Marcwebbdirector.jpg

I had a administrator that recommended me to request in this page that the image on the fact that the image did more than simply "show a camera", but instead showed a notable director himself working with the camera in one of it's first use in a feature film... and explain that the deleting admin inadvertantly erred in that THAT depiction has no free equivalent, which suggests that the deleting admin might not have read the expanded FUR. I could also not find a substitute for such a image for the filming section like the guidelines they reference should suggest. Jhenderson 777 01:49, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

That admin was me. The question in NFCC #1 on which deletion relied is "Could the subject be adequately conveyed by properly sourced text without using the non-free content at all?" What was overlooked in the speedy was that the argument for its use was not that it was simply a picture of a camera (which would have been likely replacable by a free image), but rather that it was an image showing a notable director actually using a specific camera in its first-time-use-ever in a feature film. In looking for citable sources toward this specific circumstance myself, I was unable to find any that dealt with the instance... making the image unique in its conveyance of information for our readers. Simply put, and included in the FUR, the image provided encyclopedic information that could not be replaced by properly sourced text. I too, request its refund. deletion justification states that it is for "Article about a company, corporation, organization, or group, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject", however, the page would not (or should not) have been about the Ruger corporation, but rather a specific shotgun it manufactures called the "Red Label" which was continuously manufactured for more than 30 years and has at least as much significance as other Ruger firearms which are more heavily documented @ Wikipedia. w/o page history available cannot review content for value or validity. Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning people. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning people will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. Please do not write an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Jermel Wilson. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. I will notify user Tgeairn (talk), who proposed it, and who may choose to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days to which you could contribute. You need to add references to the article showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" to establish notability, see also WP:NACTOR. IMDb is not considered a reliable source; nor are other Wikipedias; the other articles do not seem any better sourced than this one. Most of the article is about her famous family and ancestors, but (a) all that is unsourced, and WP:BLP says that unsourced information about living persons should be removed, and (b) notability is not inherited. Deleted via speedy deletion, failure to indicate why it is significant.

Would you please undelete this article. It's about a notable author, researcher, and activist. There are numerous verified sources in the original article, linking to his publications, as well as the recent news coverage of his interactions with the Department of Agriculture. I will clean up if needed, but I'm unsure how someone with numerous books, articles, and significant activity to help save the bald eagle would be considered insignificant. - — Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎Thalia42 (talkcontribs)

Not done No, there were no such links ... some google searches that didn't really show anything, and a link to a photobook on Amazon. Indeed, there's little claim to notability whatsoever, which led to its deletion. You might want to try making a wP:USERSPACEDRAFT or use the Articles for Creation process, but read WP:FIRSTARTICLE before starting. Mad Gringo hot Sauce

reasoning -99.239.14.180 (talk) 21:00, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Someone wrote an article about me and my small business and I noticed it was deleted I have been in the newspaper on television and put a lot of hard work into pursuing my dreams in this terrible economy.

It's not advertising at all I have press sources to back me up and I do a lot of good work in my community.

How can Unilever Monsanto and other large corporations that are destroying the very fabric of our civilized way of life be accepted yet The underdog small business people are trampled on and rejected as not valid (written by 99.239.14.180 (talk · contribs))

Deeds of large companies have nothing to do with the deletion of Mad Gringo Hot Sauce. Although the promotional style of writing could have been fixed, there was also no claim of importance in the deleted page. Since you are involved in the topic, I suggest that if you want to write about it you use WP:AFC to create it, with a list of newspaper references, and then expand by saying what they wrote about. If Jordan Engman has had more coverage, then an article could be written on that person. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:17, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you

Samuelmeza (talk) 08:51, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Not done Well just write it again from scratch. All that was left was from Mexicanreporter "Medicina Mexico is a pharmaceutical corporation in Mexico. They opened their first pharmacy in 1974 in Tijuana, Mexico. Medicina Mexico currently owns 43 pharmacies in Baja California, in their headquarters city Tijuana, Tecate, Mexicali and Ensenada" However it was deleted as a hoax. Does this really exist? If you can find it in newspapers etc, then please provide references. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:43, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
... and the BS in ANI related to this topic isn't helping the case either - quite the opposite, actually. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 10:57, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

To Graeme Bartlett: I got a copy however, you are RIGHT, I checked and the source used only refect the current days page of the newspapers. I see I have a lot of work to do to correct this. I will make sure that the new article points to the actual articles in the newspapers. They are real. If you want copies of their licenses I will be happy to provide them. My schedule is real busy for the next two days due to routing problems at our datacenter. I will pass my article to you to check and verify prior to moving it if that is ok with you. Thank you

Firstly, I didn't know how to move a page so I created a new page and copied the data to this page. Also, I would greatly appreciate help from editors to ensure that this crucial topic is added to Wikipedia. The Private Company Marketplace is a nascent marketplace that is rapidly gaining momentum and frequently discussed at major financial industry events.Privatemarketguru (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.

Why was this page deleted? It was a page on the history of the company.

I don't see any article by that name ... including trying to capitalize a couple of the words. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 19:53, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, here is the link to the deleted page. I don't see why it was deleted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canidae_Pet_Food

  • History of the company or not, it at no point suggested any form of notability (especially as per WP:CORP that an article needs to be in an encyclopedia; this is not a business directory, and the article gave no reason to be in the project. By the way, discussions of types of foods are more promotional, and too much focus on a couple of recalls were overly weighted. Although the topic may be suitable for inclusion (as you see when you try to read the article), this article could not cut it. As such,  Not done (✉→BWilkins←✎) 00:31, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Was deleted some time in the past on an old PROD tag: Clearly notable, authored multiple books in over 25 languages, national television appearances, leading lecturer. This BLP, American, has been deleted in the past as non-notable and at the time, not sourced. I have little interest in the man but was dumbfound to see the English-Wiki had deleted this article as non-notable. Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user Kilopi (talk), who proposed it, and who may choose to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days to which you could contribute. To have a Wikipedia article, it is not enough just to be a company; it is necessary to establish WP:Notability by giving references that show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. At present, one reference seems to be an advert for the company, and the other two are deadlinks. JohnCD (talk) 15:34, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Extended content

hi,

My name is Jiffy Grupe Jauod, one of the Jauod Brothers who were very active in Swimming during our time. I happened to be one of the members of Philippine Swimming Team in 1981 Sea Games. The first time I found out about this link was when I Google my name. I then immediately tried to edit accordingly, and I added everything that I can remember the time when me and other people who was part of the victories that gave honor to our province. I still have those pictures and medals and some news clippings. However, I and my siblings are now residing abroad and all those files were left behind in our house in Bacolod City. Most of people who had been active in following the history about sports, specifically in swimming can confirm that, and what was written were all true events. Please try consider interviewing people such as Cong. Monica Puentevella, Nonong Villanueva (Sta. Fe Resort) Mark Joseph (PASA- President) Philippine Amateur Swimming Association, or even Eric Buhain who is now chairman of the Philippines Games and Amusement Board or Richard Luna who is currently a very active swimming coach at Colegio de San Juan de Letran. I'm not sure if Vic Salazar is still around, but he has written so many columns in the Visayan Times regarding our contributions to the province under sports as the products of the selected Gintong Alay members who were competing at the international level. We still have those certificates awarded to us by Negros Press Club with signature of Vic Salazar and other people who acknowledge us during our time. Also some news clippings found in that former Daily Express, and Manila Bulletin.

Erasing our part is like ignoring our hard earned contributions while we are all still a living witnesses and performers to all these events. There are even no recognitions in Archery that in one of the olympics our very own Eduardo Sayo and Clint Sayo also represented Philippines in Mens Archery. I know about this because I played both Swimming are Archery and had been a member of National Archery Association of the Philippines (NAAP). My mother Juanita Camporaso Grupe, from La Carlota City once was a member of the Philippine Team that competed in Taiwan (formerly Formosa) was not even cited, but her picture is being displayed in Panaad Stadium. So, how does it feel when somebody's accomplishment is being questioned, and the people who took part that history were still around and very much alive?

Somebody deleted this:

Project Gintong Alay in Swimming made Sta. Fe Resort 25-meter swimming pool as the training venue of Negros swimmers who trained in preparation for the 11th Southeast Asian Games held in December of 1981. Due to frequent brownouts at the time, they would also train at the Bago River, swimming from and to the old and new bridges of the river under heavy current and the reclamation area now Bacolod City Sea Port.
Francisco Guangco: swimmer who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
Under the tutelage and sponsorship of former Ambassador Roberto S. Benedicto, then the Presidential Project Director in Swimming, the Negros swimmers (written as the Negros Tankers) by local mediamen composed of Francisco A. Guanco, Jr. Breastroker, Greg Villanueva Backstroker, Jiffy Grupe Jauod Butterflier, Janice Grupe Jauod Freestyler, late Jundy Grupe Jauod Backstroker, Renato Padronia Butterflier, Augusto Perocho Freestyler and Mario Lahora Freestyler among others, were also being trained by the Presidential Project "Gintong Alay" headed by Michael Marcos-Keon, anchored the Western Visayas Swimming Team to dethroned National Capital Region in the National Open Swimming championships in December 1980 held at the Celebrity Sports Plaza, Quezon City, in the presence of great Olympian swimmer Mark Spitz. Since then (1980), the Western Visayas Swimming Team, the members of which were from Negros captured the national swimming championships including Palarong Pambansa in the Men's Swimming Division championships until 1986. The team was coached by Oscar Nonong) Villanueva, Jr. and Danilo Padronia of Bago City.
Negros Swimmers: Francisco A. Guanco, Jr. Greg C. Villanueva, Jiffy Grupe Jauod, Renato Padronia, and Augusto Perocho has qualified through time trials in the Philippines Amateur Swimming Association PASA to compete in the 11th Southeast Asian Games held in Manila on December 1981. Also with the Philippines Swimming Team were Jairullah Jaitullah, Richard Luna, Billy Wilson who together with Jiffy Grupe Jauod broke the Philippine Record in Men's Relay during the game. Others were Christine Jacob, Vicente Cheng, Maritess Espinosa, Emilio Rafols, Maritess and Virginia Samson, Virgina Dumasis, Ruel Ausemestre. The team was Coached by late Sotero Alcantara, while the liason to Ambassador Benedicto was Monico O. Puentevella.

I am requesting for help to raise a dispute why those write up above been deleted as all people mentioned were still alive except my brother Jundy Grupe Jauod.

Respectfully, Jiffy Grupe Jauod
