Norman Walsh

The page was originally deleted due to repeated recreation of nonsense content. The current Norman Walsh (air marshal) page should either be at Norman Walsh or be dab-linked from it. Currently it is hard for users to find the article on the recently deceased air marshal -Greenshed (talk) 19:22, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Atheos Records

I wouldn’t dream of imposing on this talk page unless it was a matter of great importance; nevertheless, a fortunate situation has arisen in my life which I must achieve, and I’m hoping you can help. Over the past few years has arisen a new era of Atheism not much different from Atheists of the 15th century; but, more outspoken and goal driven. As, Jeffery S. Mitchell, the Atheist activist would suggest to those struggling for recognition:

“It’s kind of fun being in the underground.” [End Quote, Jeffery S. Mitchell 2008]

Since 2006 Dr. Terrence A. Ward has witnessed the rise of Atheism on both a national and international scale. Even Atheist book authors are now topping best seller list such as the writings of Richard DawkinsThe God Delusion”, Sam HarrisThe End of Faith”, and Christopher HitchensGod Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything”.

With more and more Atheist writing books, songs, offering scholarships, and community awareness Atheos Records, LLC president, Dr. Terrence A. Ward, is taking heed to this new trend because there is an open market for those willing to carry the Atheist message through entertainment and/or education.

Atheos Records is a record label dedicated to enriching the aspirations of Atheists both nationally and internationally through the market of hip-hop music. Demonstrating to the world that Atheist are not without significance. With the growth of the genre, the past few years have seen both a rise in listeners and a wider spectrum of Atheist rap artists. A growing interest from the news media means Atheist rap artists have been popping up in documentaries and local programming. As a record label dedicated to Atheist hip-hop, Atheos Records is essentially planning to become the sole distributor of Southeast atheist rap music in America, Europe, and Asia.

It is my knwowledge that this article definitely does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. Nevertheless, you mentioned that:

"This article may meet Wikipedia’s criteria for speedy deletion as an article about a company, corporation, organization, or group that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Note that schools are not eligible under this criterion." [End Quote]

Are you referring to two of the educational references I quoted? I would have no problems editing this section!

-Dr. Terrence Ward (talk) 20:27, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Your own words condemn you; this is a blatantly shameless advertisement for you and your projects, with neither evidence nor assertion of any kind of notability whatsoever. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:36, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza

While not my article, it seems the original was deleted for reasons that the band was deemed not-notable. For what it's worth: While it's true that this band never released anything that wasn't self-released, they had a huge cult following in Philadelphia and their live shows were notorious throughout the east coast hardcore scene. I have been to a lot of shows in my day but the 3 Bad Luck shows I attended were EPIC (DC, Philly, and Hellfest) and will stick with me forever. Especially their closing/final performance at Hellfest 2004, featured on their DVD. A true riot. All the information in the original document that was deleted was valid and accurate. -209.193.51.222 (talk) 23:03, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. As announced prominently at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at this articles for deletion discussion, asking here for any action is a waste of your time. However, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Lenticel (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, you can make a request at deletion review.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:26, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

If this is the case then all league pages here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ice_hockey_leagues#Youth should be deleted. I 100% disagree with this, but if it is true then the standard must be kept. HockeyCoach80014 (talk) 17:26, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

That may well be the case, but that's totally off-topic here. Users who find pages that they feel do not meet notability standards or have other fatal and unsolveable flaws can follow standard deletion process for them. However, it's certainly possible that some of them might have notability of some sort, so "just delete the lot of them now" without actually looking into each is not appropriate. That is, every article must stand or fall on its own merits (see the essay everyone keeps telling you to read) but neither is there an editorial board that constantly patrols all of wikipedia for pages that are below standards. Australian Association of Live Steamers

'I amunclear why this page was removed. The Association has national significance in its area of influence and prescribes standards for the movement that are embodied in legislation. These were noted in the article. Consequently its existance and purpose should be acknowledged. -202.168.105.179 (talk) 11:41, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Done However, the article still doesn't show how the association is notable, and it could be deleted again through another means. I'd suggest adding some quality third party, reliable sources showing notability.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:40, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

How do I add quality third party sources? The article referenced NSW legislation that it is referenced in. Accessing those regulations will show the reference. They are also referenced in Australian Standards, however these are only available for a fee. These sources are independent of the subject. It is also notable as the only truly National body of its type in the world. Secondary sources are generally links to this organisation, as it is the primary source itself. This can be verified by Googling the topic and seeing the hits. There would not be so many links if it were not notable as a true primary source.

Israel Sports Radio

The topic of this erstwhile article, (Israel Sports Radio), is a radio station, and was suspected of being a non-notable ("web-only") radio station. However, before the deletion, material added to its "Talk:" page was already clearly indicating that evidence of notability does exist, and could be added to the article soon if it is not already there, and also indicating that the date of Oct. 4, 2010 is firm, by which time the radio station will be on the air, broadcasting over the airwaves, (no longer "web-only"!) and that by that time, reliably sourced evidence of notability will exist, -- (perhaps more than now), -- and such data could then be added (as footnotes) to the article, as the radio station develops and becomes more well-known. --Mike Schwartz (talk) 11:40, 26 August 2010 (UTC) -Mike Schwartz (talk) 11:40, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

This is a product that should be explained, similar to competitive products like VxWorks. We have received requests from users of this product to further explain it in this forum. We have tried to follow Wikipedia guidelines for our entry and kept our information factual as well as provided external links to companies like Intel and industry publications that have featured it. We believe in the past there was a previous page called Deos that was created and deleted however that page has no relation to our entry. -4zehcnej8 (talk) 21:44, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Healthy multiplicity

Please email to me the history of Healthy multiplicity.

Incidentally, while I understand that here is not the place to request undeletion in this case, I think it's worth pointing out that the practical effect of this deletion has been to completely censor the point of view that multiplicity can be a healthy condition in some people. Multiple personality controversy has been redirected to Dissociative Identity Disorder (a name that is disputed for several different reasons), and the section on healthy multiplicity in that article has also been deleted. So much for NPOV as an argument for the original deletion. --David-Sarah Hopwood ⚥ (talk) 03:05, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

  • I have searched through the deleted records - and the contributions under your IP address - and have so far been unable to find an article with that name ever existing on Wikipedia. I would advise that it's possible that it failed WP:NOTNEWS, but without a more specific title it's difficult to know. I'm not going to try to gauge similarities, but it would be interesting to note that the article Dudley George exists due to additional notability besides being shot by OPP. Hello,

I am leaving a message regarding the deletion of the following page (FYI, this is not my article)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Build-To-Order_(HDB),_Punggol

The reason for deletion was "Speedy deleted per CSD G11, was blatant advertising, used only to promote someone or something. using TW",

I personally do not feel so, as this page is a compilation of the past HDB Build-to-Order tender projects for Punggol (a district in Singapore), similar to the page for the "list of BTO Projects". Perhaps, as Punggol has too many releases in these recent years, it has been separated to its own wiki page (i have been following the BTO page for quite long). I do not know if you are from Singapore, but a little introduction - Punggol is a district here that is growing and our Government is trying to develop this district with more upcoming constructions of flats for citizens.

I doubt this wiki page was meant for blatant advertising, nor promotion of someone or something. However, i guess the person who created the page described it as "Upcoming waterfront paradise by Group8asia situated along Punggol Waterway, it will offer waterfront living and boasts eco-friendly features such as large courtyards and openings to promote natural ventilation and airflow to flats and common areas" made it seem like some advertisement. Will it be possible to change the description to something else and restore this page?

I work in the construction industry and find this page very useful, as to when i need to find information of a certain tender project in Punggol, i will refer to this page, especially when there are many upcoming releases. I personally use these pages as reference to my work and i am sure it is beneficial to others as well. Renestarz (talk) 08:25, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry to say that "i need to find information of a certain tender project in Punggol, i will refer to this page" is the absolute wrong reason for a page to exist on Wikipedia - Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a résumé, business directory, or request for tender site. FL Technics

The article was marked for speedy deletion by user Bk314159. The user does not object to my arguments, and advised me to come here to undelete the article. Here is my reasoning as posted on user Bk314159 talk page: I want to ask you to restore the FL Technics article. It's not promotional, it's factual data. Also, I'd like to link the article to it's counterpart in Lithuanian language (since it's a Lithuanian company). The reason I put this article on Wikipedia is that it's a continuation of now bancrupt flyLAL airlines - the only national airline in Lithuania. The airline had been reorganized into separate activities, such as commercial flights, charter flights (thus the Small Planet Airlines article that is a continuation on a previous flyLAL charter) and aircraft maintenance (thus FL Technics article which is a continuation of a previous flyLAL Technics). Maybe I should reflect that more in the History section of the article? Or additionally put the article under some categories? -MilesToCover (talk) 06:38, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Please see the criteria for speedy deletion and the relevant notability guidelines - articles that are not in compliance will be deleted. National Center for Midwest Art and Design

The National Center for Midwest Art and Design was founded in 2007 and is based at the Figge Art Museum, the oldest art museum in Iowa. NCMAD is headed by Dr Gregory Gilbert, the head of art history at [[Knox College][1].. NCMAD has sponsored a number of important projects and exhibitions, including the current John Deere art collection show.[2]. This is a significant institution in the field of 19th and 20th century Midwestern art and design history. -173.29.33.192 (talk) 07:38, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Why don't you register an account (it takes less than two minutes) and start the article? The article was first created with no references and no indication of importance and, more importantly, was a copyright violation of Figge Art Museum#National Center for Midwest Art and Design, as it copied and pasted the text from that section of that article without any attribution. It was then speedy deleted, then recreated with no content and speedy deleted again. I will not undelete the copyright violating version, and even if it wasn't a copyvio, were I to undelete and then add your content in its place I would be claiming your content as my own. So just register an account and start the article. If you do so with the above content, it should not be speedy deleted as it contains sources, and does not appear to be a copyvio, though you shouldn't forget that to make those sources display, you need to create a separate references section and add {{Reflist}}. Meld (software)

I am looking for a better description of this software and routinely use Wikiedia as a source of information on software, its features and its comparison to other software. Meld is notable software [1] and I believe worth of mention on Wikipedia [2]. I feel that its article is of value and should be included in Wikipedia. There is very little information available (at least that I could find) as to why the article was deleted nor the deletion process used. -karlwilbur (talk) 19:22, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

William_J._Lashua

I don't mess with wikipedia's pages, but to dispute against the deletion of the article on Joshua J. Lashua that he is indeed a significate person and is related to web content. Joshua J. Lashua is a World War II veteran, and hundreds to thousands of people are attempting to come together from various sources to thank him for his services on his upcoming birthday on September 4th. I understand if he was just another person, but his veteran status for World War II should have significance on allowing a page to exist on him. Note, the copyright holder has confirmed the release will include the text and supporting photo from the source bio page. Such an article may well be challenged for WP:AUTHOR guidelines but that would be a separate issue from the current rationale for deletion. (talk) 22:43, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
