St. Maria de Varagella
reasoning -50.196.125.118 (talk) 17:00, 30 October 2013 (UTC) I dont like this opportunity for the Wikipedia Foundation to delete my article.
- Question: - please give the exact title of the article you mean. We have never had an article at St. Maria de Varagella, or any of the variations I have tried. Capitalization and punctuation are important. If you do not know the exact title, please log in to the account you used to create it and leave another message. If you created it as an IP through "Articles for creation", did you get a message to tell you it had been deleted?
- The Wikimedia Foundation does not control the content of Wikipedia; that is the responsibility of the Wikipedia community. The article will have been deleted by a Wikipedia administrator, and if you can supply the title we can tell you why. JohnCD (talk) 20:48, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

- Sequel to the unjustifiable tagging and speedy deletion of an article titled==Olatunde O Isaac== created by anonymous,I hereby write to you with all sense of humilty and commitment as an editor to inform u that the tagging and speedy deletion of the article was ilega to the wikipedia rule.when I went through the work before it was finally deleted, I had the mindset to expand the work. You will agree with me that an Editor may not know everything about an article therefore creating aplatform for other Editor to go through it and expand it. The work has a good refrences, infactit has more than three refrences, which is still far better than some work. Frankly speaking the article was about a notable person who is a very young an Eminnt biochemist from Nigeria. Who also won the award of the youngest scientist of the year 2012. My able and competent Editor jeff,I implore you to do everything within your reach to restore the article titled '==Olatunde O Isaac== deleted by Nawlinwiki on 02 november for God sake so that together we can maintain the wikipedia standard throughout the world. Thanks for you anticipation(Orimadegun016 (talk) 08:20, 2 November 2013 (UTC))
- I hope the deleted article looked better than User:Isaacatm/Olatunde Olalekan Isaac (which appears to be a userspace draft of it). Perhaps the two can be combined as a userspace draft? — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 05:34, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- I've cut and pasted the content that was at the deleted version to the userspace copy, but the problem is that there was a lack of reliable sources that were independent of the subject that showed notability. There was also a problem with verifying the other sources such as "kingdom of the yorubas 2". You don't have to always have an internet link to something, but we do need more than what was given. For the claims made on the article, there weren't many hits on the internet for his name. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:08, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, Tokyogirl79. I agree that the restored version is insufficiently sourced. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if the two authors of the userspace copy were the same person, continuing to push for an article on this subject. — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 06:15, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- Wouldn't surprise me either- it looks like the user has been blocked for continuing to add articles on this person after being asked to stop, and this is probably a way to try to get around the ban. They've added articles at Olatunde olalekan isaac and Olatunde isaac. I've salted the second one and the one that's currently up here. If it is decided to re-create, we can always un-salt it. Personally I'd recommend against it because of the multiple deletions and attempts to re-create it. I'll run the names through a SPI just to see if it's someone trying to avoid a ban. David Akintola is a Nigerian born footballer who plays for sunshine stars fc in the Nigerian premier league. He is well known for his style of play and his fast feet with the ball. He is a striker and can also play from any forward position. he has recently announced his wish to play in Europe so as to get a call up into the National team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.206.12.20 (talk) 09:57, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Done. Wikipedia articles are required to be verifiable - see Wikipedia:Verifiability: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." For articles about living people, this is so important that they are automatically deleted after ten days if unsourced, and that is what happened here. I have restored it and re-started the ten-day clock. JohnCD (talk) 19:53, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Deleted: on further investigation, I have deleted this article, which appears to be a hoax. Symphonic Poems (Dvořák)
reasoning -Ravpapa (talk) 06:19, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
This article was created by a new user, BFolkman, who undoubtedly intended to add content over the next few days. Unaware as he was of Wikipedia's rules forbidding the creation of empty articles, he was no doubt sorely disappointed to find his efforts so soundly trounced.
The subject is unquestionably worthy of a Wikipedia article. The Symphonic Poems, in addition to being notable works in their own right, are important because they represent a shift in Dvorak's compositional focus in his last years, from "pure" music to programmatic music and opera.
So if BFolkman doesn't get around to fleshing out the article in the next day or two, I will do so myself.
Thanks,
Ravpapa (talk) 06:19, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- Comment: it turns out that this deletion was a G7, intended by the article author, who had discovered that the subject was already covered. JohnCD (talk) 14:53, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Allthough this is a one-man band he has received a lot of attention when the artist's music was used for the adverts for a very popular adventure camera and more recently a car advert. The article was deleted before it was properly finished and I am convinced there is some heavy-handed and overzealous admin work here. It was not even possible to discuss. I thought Wikipedia was a contribution democracy, not a monopoly of certain admins -Martin McDowell (talk) 09:50, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- The article has been recreated and then tagged again for deletion. I'll let another administrator review the A7, but someone needs to warn Martin that his conduct is unacceptable. For example, on the article talk page contesting the tag (Talk:Overwerk), he says, "You might as well delete my account or block me if you intend to delete this page." On his user page, he says, "Any admin trying to poke their nose in here can duly fuck off."--Bbb23 (talk) 15:19, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Let me know if you have any doubts to avoid the deletion.

Quadra Street
The 2009 proposal for deletion didn't consider Quadra Street's historical significance. Until the 1960s it was the main road northward from Victoria. Chand Zaveri
reasoning -Kabira163 (talk) 17:14, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
Hello, I would just like the code I have inserted for my page "Chand Zaveri" that was deleted. Firstly, the page was not finished and so I do not think it should have been taken down or at least until I had finished it. I want the code so I can make a new page about the famous cricketer and hopefully this time it can be finished without having people like you deleting it. Sorry if you have found this argument rude. --- Kabira.
- Not done. Don't worry, I can be rude too. Your article will not be restored because it was nonsense. It claimed that this cricketer is a "left-handed opening batsman for India", but the articles India national cricket team and List of India Test cricketers have not heard of him, nor has CricInfo. It claims that at the age of 15 he has a test batting average of 444, and that he made Test and ODI debuts in 2006, at the age of 8. And the picture was of somebody else. Don't waste our time.
- If you want to make serious contributions, read WP:Your first article for general advice, WP:Verifiability to understand that you can't just make things up, and WP:NCRICKET for what a cricketer needs to have achieved before having an article. Then, to start an article, click on Help:Userspace draft which will make a draft page where you can work on the article until it is ready.
- By the way, if you are Chand Zaveri, forget about using Wikipedia to make yourself famous. It doesn't work. You can write about yourself in places like Myspace and Facebook, not here. JohnCD (talk) 19:56, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

"Chen Da" article was deleted; request for advice
- Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chen Da (Chinese folk singer) · ( logs | history | links | watch ) · [revisions]
reasoning -JoanX.Chen (talk) 10:22, 8 November 2013 (UTC) Dear Wikipedia editor, I have not been able to access Wikipedia for a long time and I do comprehend that the article on Chen Da has been deleted. Chen Da is acknowledged in several major academic works by American and Chinese musicologists as the no.1 folk singer in Post World War II Taiwan. (The references were quoted properly by me in the deleted article.) Several Wikipedia entries on Chinese and Taiwanese music - respectively Taiwanese folk music - share this view that he is important. The name Chen Da is emphasized by red in these Wikipedia articles (even an Italian one), indicating that an entry on Chen Da is desired. - It is clear that the article proposed was too long. Perhaps I found "too much information" on his musical style (including refs giving the books quoted). And perhaps there were "too many details" on his biography (plus the necessary references). - It is also clear that my style should have been more neutral, perhaps. I tried to be sober and neutral but obviously I like the person and think highly of his achievement. This may have colored my style and therefore the article. I would have appreciated help by other Wikipedia editors who are more experienced. I ask for advice as I have always appreciated helpful polite advice.

This article was victim of speedy deletion on grounds of google search which itself is not reliable source. There are countries which embraced internet very late and as a result they lack in promoting important personalities, events or places to wider world. This personality is considered a legend in Azad Kashmir and he took fight againt illiteracy and militancy in educational insituituitons when Malala Yousafzai was not even born. It will be injustice against Pakistan's fight against illitercay and fundamentalism if this personality is not remembered, who has hundereds of thousands of students accross the world. When mythical characters, dacoits or infamous thieves and robbers are given place on wikipedia pages then this article should also be given chance, whicch is about a real person who took the war against illiteracy single handedly. I therefore request for republishing the article so that more references could be produced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikimaniabot (talk • contribs) 06:39, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

No speedy deletion, just.deleated, when I checked the editor,s users page that was self promoting. So I don' understand.
Hello sir, you do seem like a busy man. My user page User:Leon (Lee) Ousby was deleted on the grounds of self promotion. At the top of the page I ask editors if the can contact me before editing. I am actually possibly promoting a lot of notable people and universities more so.
I would like the page restored as I have a lot more to add, am waiting for more sources and references to come through. It's also fun. All that is there is true and no kick back would come back at WikipediaLeon (Lee) Ousby - Actor (talk) 22:42, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- Not done. This is quite unsuitable for Wikipedia. I am sorry that nobody has yet explained to you what Wikipedia is (a project to build an encyclopedia), and more importantly what it is not. Among many other things, it is not a social-networking site, or a webhost for blogs or for people to write about themselves.
- Wikipedia user pages are not like those at social-networking sites. Their use is explained at WP:NOTWEBHOST:
"Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages or be repositories for large amounts of material that is irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."
- You may find some ideas at Wikipedia:Alternative outlets. If you like, I will be happy to email you the contents of the page for you to post somewhere else. JohnCD (talk) 10:47, 9 November 2013 (UTC).

Four more sculptures at another four locations are under planning. The sculptures are given by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB to the municipalities. The sculptures are placed in the landscape and are accessible to all at no cost. There are no commercial interests in the project.
The project is in many ways similar to Artscape Nordland. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artscape_Nordland Should I rewrite my article in the format of the Wikipedia article of Artscape Nordland?

Article was deleted due to G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion, I do not believe that the content of the article reflects this decision. -CheriBomb (talk) 19:19, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- Not done I agree that this isn't advertising, but the article makes no demonstration of his significance, i.e. it doesn't demonstrate that he's important enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia, so if I restored it, it would immediately be eligible for speedy deletion for lack of significance. You need to include content explaining why Teebone is significant enough for a general worldwide encyclopedia, and you need to include citations to reliable sources: books from reliable publishers, academic journals, government websites, etc. Please note two other things: (1) I would be happy to restore it if you would agree to have it moved to your userspace. There you could work on it at your leisure, since the lack-of-significance thing doesn't apply in userspace. (2) If you come back here and explain why he's significant, that will be sufficient, since it's something that could simply be added to the article upon its restoration. - Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. The text of this article shows it is a brand new startup and so it is highly unlikely there exist third party sources to sustain notability and could be used to create a verifiable article.
