Good topic candidates: view - edit - history
Oslo Metro
[edit]I am nominating Oslo Metro as an overview featured topic. It consists of three featured lists and three good articles. There are about 150 articles related to the Oslo Metro, which fit into a hierarchy below these five articles. The rolling stock are already a good topic, as is the Ring Line, which would potentially become a subtopic of a subtopic for the lines. Similar subtopics could be created for each of the lines, as well as for all the operators, should all appropriate articles reach GA. Arsenikk (talk) 20:31, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Support looks fine if a book is created. Nergaal (talk) 02:31, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- There is really no need to have a separate book from the rolling stock one. Try creating an actual one including the entire topic, with all the subarticles there. Nergaal (talk) 18:24, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- Books are really not my bag of beans, and the documentation around them is rather weak, but: do you also propose that I add the ten lines and the ten-or-so operator articles as well, or should the book only consist of GA article? Should also the 100+ articles on stations be included (that would be a rather long book, IMHO). Arsenikk (talk) 23:10, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- See Book:Jupiter which is for Wikipedia:Featured topics/Jupiter. Nergaal (talk) 19:11, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Prinz Adalbert class armored cruisers
[edit]Another pair of turn of the century German armored cruisers - the two ships were both sunk early in World War I. Friedrich Carl was mined off Libau while Prinz Adalbert was torpedoed by a British submarine off Memel. There are only two more articles to do on German armored cruisers before they'll all be done (though I'll still need to write a list). Parsecboy (talk) 18:46, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

StarCraft titles
[edit]Procedural nom; I demoted this a couple months ago because StarCraft II was not a GA, but it has since become one. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 16:02, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Speedy repromote no point in this one lingering. BencherliteTalk 16:08, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Needs creation of the Zerg game since it is in works and will definitely be released. Nergaal (talk) 20:30, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know if there's enough information for the article yet. As far as I know, as of the release of StarCraft II (so about half a year ago), mission ideas were still being pitched for the game, but I don't know how far they've gotten since then. Gary King (talk · scripts) 03:21, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Is there any estimated release date? Is it going to be after Diablo 3? Nergaal (talk) 05:51, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Not that I'm aware of, though places like IGN speculate 2012. The entire sum of knowledge we have about the expansion at present is that we know the title and the race it focuses on. That's certainly not enough to create an article with. -- Sabre (talk) 16:47, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's very likely to be released after Diablo III. Gary King (talk · scripts) 17:59, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

- Since the second part will be released in about a year [1] [2][3] and there is plenty of information about how the game will probably be, I think the Zerg article needs to be created and included before this is repromoted. Nergaal (talk) 01:11, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think those articles are considered reliable sources. Now, if 1up.com or GamesRadar had an article on it, I would agree with you. GamerPro64 (talk) 01:36, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see the point of creating an article full of nothing and fluff based on dodgy sources and speculation. By all means ensure that this is noted as a topic with a future retention period (e.g. 3 months from the release of the game to get the article to GA), but forcing someone to write something about this hot air, let alone make anyone peer review it, seems a waste of time to me. BencherliteTalk 01:40, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- Worst case scenario is we create a section for the upcoming expansions in the StarCraft II article, then redirect the expansion articles to the appropriate section. This also helps with redundancy since the three games are fairly intertwined with each other. In any case, as mentioned in the linked articles themselves, these release dates are highly speculative. And, considering how long Blizzard took to release StarCraft II, don't expect the expansions to come on schedule. They prefer quality over punctuality, similar to Valve and Half-Life 2: Episode Three. Gary King (talk · scripts) 03:24, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
I put a note in the retention logs, so when the article is actually created and a release date noted then a timetable can be set for getting it to GA status. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:21, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
- Speedy repromote As to the matter of HotS, as there is no planned release date yet and we have only basic info, I'd say there's no reason to have an article now and thus it's not germane to this topic. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 19:36, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Roon class armored cruisers
[edit]A pair of German armored cruisers built shortly after the turn of the century; both ships saw service with the German fleet during World War I; Yorck was sunk in the first major naval offensive when she struck two German mines after returning to the Heligoland Bight. Roon was eventually withdrawn to the Baltic where she saw action against the Russian Navy. It was later planned to convert the ship into a seaplane carrier, but the conversion never took place. Scharnhorst class battleships
[edit]Germany's first class of battleships built after the disarmament of Versailles, these two ships saw active service careers during WWII, including a successful raid into the Atlantic, the destruction of the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious, and the Channel Dash. Scharnhorst was sunk at the Battle of North Cape and Gneisenau met her end as a bombed-out blockship in Danzig. This is the second to last ship class before my master plan is complete. These will all eventually go to FAC as part of said master plan. Parsecboy (talk) 00:19, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Helgoland class battleships
[edit]Germany's second class of dreadnought battleships, and the last group to grace the FTC/GTC process (though there are two groups of WWII-era ships still waiting to be completed). These ships saw heavy service during World War I, and were spared the internment and subsequent scuttling at Scapa Flow. They were ceded to the Allies after the war and with the exception of Ostfriesland, were broken up for scrap. Ostfriesland was the subject of controversial air-power tests conducted by Billy Mitchell and sunk off the Virginia Capes in 1921. The three GAs will eventually all go to FAC, when all is said and done. Parsecboy (talk) 18:01, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Who's That Girl
[edit]Hi all. I believe the above seven articles can be a good topic regarding the Who's That Girl era in the life of American recording artist Madonna. So with the consensus of my fellow editors here, I would like to promote them as such. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:59, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

So the main project here is the film, whether the soundtrack is more successful or not. Bluesatellite (talk) 09:41, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

All of the articles in the season topic are GA's, and I don't think any other storms could get articles. The closest is Hurricane Charlie, which I tried making into an article, but there simply wasn't enough info. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:52, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Kaiser class battleships
[edit]Another class of German dreadnoughts, these were the first turbine-powered battleships built by the German navy. They saw heavy service during World War I, and along with the König class, formed the backbone of the High Seas Fleet. All five were scuttled in Scapa Flow in 1919 and eventually raised and broken up for scrap. The lead article is currently the only FA, though all five ship articles will go to FAC eventually. All articles are GA, and there are no articles missing. I was considering making an article for Hurricane Dog, but there just isn't enough to have a good article for that. It's similar to the 1950 AHS topic that's also up now. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 01:33, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Cocker Spaniel
[edit]Finally worked up American Cocker Spaniel today, with English Cocker Spaniel being my very first GA from back in 2009. Felt that this met the criteria of being a succinct and complete topic, although I'll admit that it could be absorbed at some point down the line into a complete GT on spaniels - but as there isn't a great deal of editors working on dog breed articles (only three or four working them up) and I'm the only one to have worked on any spaniels so far, it'll be at least a year or two away at current speed.
