Orphaned non-free media (Image:TerriSchiavo2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:TerriSchiavo2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Kosovo in diplomatic relations maps

Do you think that this idea is sound and could be made into a policy - I posted it here Image talk:Austria Belarus Locator.png. Basically it means that if both countries whose relations are supposed to be depicted don't recognise Kosovo as independent then the map shows Kosovo as part of Serbia. In case one of them does and the other one doesn't, Kosovo border is shown with an interrupted line (alternatively it could be a shaded part of Serbia) and if both countries recognise Kosovo then Kosovo is shown with a full border. What do you think? Can this be turned into an official rule for maps of this sort? I hope that this time you can answer before the bot moves this to archive.--Avala (talk) 11:43, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Hmm...I pretty much certainly believe that Belarus will never, ever, going to recognize Kosovo Independence short from either Serbia giving up or a change of leadership in Minsk. I personally believe that the Kosovo/Serbia border should be dashed, like I sometimes see the CIA maps for disputed lands. I am not certain on how this can be applied to all maps, but it is worth trying out. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 23:54, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah well I think it should be somehow regulated in a form of detailed policy so that there is no confusion.--Avala (talk) 17:03, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
If you want to push for a policy, fine by me. I don't have the time or energy to help push it. But, you can use my opinions when you shape this policy. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 18:16, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Will, if I can offer a suggestion, maybe start the article from scratch. I was working with the users to make a possible NPOV version of the article, due to the issues I faced on OTRS, I nuked it. I no longer have access to the service, so I cannot see anything new relevant to the article. I have no other feelings about this DRV, but I would like to see a draft of the NPOV article before I even think we should unlock it. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 09:07, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

SVG reducing help

I tried my hand at trying to reduce some of our SVG flag images by manually typing out reduced code in notepad. The flag I tried doing was Singapore. My earlier results was at Image:Sgtest.svg, but I am always having the problem with the stars. Every time I tried to add the stars using the simple code, Wikimedia and Inkscape think the image is corrupt and won't open/upload it. Since I know you do this pretty well, can you tell me what I am doing wrong or add the stars for me? Thanks. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:06, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

An update, I managed to get one star to appear on the image. Now, I just need those stars cloned and put into the document. The code that I seen other flag images use, I am trying to use it but Wikimedia and Inkscape said it is corrupt. The code I was trying is the following:

<use xlink:href="#star" transform="translate(-317,240)"/> <use xlink:href="#star" transform="translate(317,240)"/> <use xlink:href="#star" transform="translate(-209.217,590)"/> <use xlink:href="#star" transform="translate(211.464,590)"/>

User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 07:56, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

I have now corrected your file. The <svg> element on your file was missing an xmlns:xlink attribute.
You might also want to run dos2unix or something similar on your files after editing them with notepad, so that newlines are represented with one byte (Unix newlines) instead of two (DOS newlines). --Fibonacci (talk) 08:18, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

National Banner Song

I looked around for a bit, and I was unable to find any specific tempo for the anthem. However the Government Information Office's web page states that the song's set in a 莊嚴行板 (Andante Maestoso), but I guess you know that already. Testing with the clips on MOFA's web site and a metronome gets me a ~80 for the instrumental version, and ~90 for the choral version. I think we should stick to Andante Maestoso though. wctaiwan (talk) 12:08, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

CoA of the Philippines

Heya, I have noticed something weird about this CoA, it exists under 3 different versions: File:CoA of Philippines.png (GFDL), File:Coat of Arms of the Philippines.png (apparently your work, Fair Use), and File:Revised-Coat of Arms of the Philippines.png (CC-by). Do you have any idea of the copyright status of this coat of arms? The 2 free images are hosted on commons, but the FUR on File:Coat of Arms of the Philippines.png states that this being a work of the government, it cannot be free. Any idea on what is correct? -- lucasbfr talk 13:47, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

The image might have been deleted on the Commons for being a "derivative work" of the Philippines Government. The coat of arms, when it was adopted, was adopted in 1946. Copyright expires in the Philippines after 50 years, so it should be public domain now. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

MountainDew-90s.png

You deleted Image:MountainDew-90s.png with no discussion and only the short comment "I3: Improper license". However it did have a proper license; as a logo consisting of simply an outlined brand name in a custom font, it does fall under {{PD-textlogo}}. So while it is trademarked, it is not—and cannot be—copyrighted. —MJBurrage(TC) 16:45, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

I doubt that the image is public domain due to just being a basic font. There was other elements that brought creativity to the logo, such as the stretching of the text and introduction of background elements. So it is not PD-Text. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 17:42, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

No font is copyrightable no matter how fancy it is, the outline is a simple geometric tracing of the words. Hence it is a {{PD-textlogo}}. If you disagree than you should have either disputed the license used or listed the file for deletion. It should not have been speedily deleted either way. —MJBurrage(TC) 18:07, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Image restored, but I changed the license to {{non-free logo}}. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 21:10, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I agree that the logo would probably be considered copyrighted. There is no harm in treating it as non-free- just add a rationale and remove any unneeded uses. We should be very conservative about declaring things ineligible for copyright. J Milburn (talk) 21:16, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Socket Mobile

Hi, I noticed you speedy deleted the article on Socket Mobile as A7 - no assertion of importance or significance. I feel this is a mistake as the article explained that is was listed on NASDAQ which to my mind is a pretty good assertion of importance (I had earlier removed a speedy tag from the article on that basis). It also gets quite a bit of coverage on google news - [1] and google news archive - [2] (much of which could not be used as reliable sources of notability but there is some which I feel could be) from which I feel it is possible notability can be established. Therefore I was hoping you could reconsider the deletion. Thanks. Davewild (talk) 11:27, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Hang on

You wrote on my webpage: I hate to break it to you, but a movie being inside the IMDB is not something to jump up and down about. Just like Wikipedia, the IMDB is a website that wants everyone who has a pulse and types in English to send in information about movies. So that will not work. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 02:57, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, what do you think that Wikipedia is? A user controlled website in the same way as IMDb; however, please see the talk page as I have provided the link to the 14th Annual Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival. Oh, here is the link [3]. I guess the Dragonfly has his friends.--JRiverton (talk) 03:05, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
I been looking at the article and links. If you ask my honest opinion, I feel there is not enough. I checked the website of the Film Festival in Philly; not much is known about it and when I did the search for the "Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival," I always kept on getting the city of Austin. Second, I looked at the second link for "TWIT Magazine." 116 hits in Google and not much coverage anywhere else. The third link, anyone can summarize a film and I don't see what stock the one person has. Honestly, this is not the kind of article that should exist on Wikipedia. You mentioned the IMDB has a "board" that decides what should stay and what should go. In our case, we got one too; this is the second person that has come out and said this article should not exist unless you explain to us and show us why you think it should be here and is notable enough. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 03:12, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
This is a film that was released in 2008. What is your authority to decide what should be and should not be on this website. I have been probably editing here just as long as you have. I have a right to introduce information too. I don't go around judging your material. I think that you are simply stating what is important to you and not realizing that the film is in existence and that Wikipedia provides the information to the world. I would also submit that you are simply displaying your prejudice against this type of film.--JRiverton (talk) 03:17, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Flag of the Ezo Republic

I have a question about your image of Ezo Republic. I am not able to find any reference regards to the flag; do you have any source? I've gone through this period, reading mostly in Japanese, but I've never seen any source describes the image. Also I am very concerned of the image getting spread without any reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.113.234.84 (talk) 06:24, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply. But I wasn't able to view the page: the page had limited access to administrator. Also if possible, I would like to have a look on your source. Do you come up with the name of encyclopedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.113.229.84 (talk) 09:28, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

I am an administrator, so I was able to access the deleted image. Honestly, I have no clue where the first image came from. From reading, there was a flag used by the republic at the Battle of Hokkaido, before sailors boarded the Kōtetsu. This is the only thing I saw. And no, I didn't come up with the name of this place; he did. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 09:50, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

I've read the Japanese article in Hakodate Senso (the battle of Hakodate), particularly the part in the Miyakowan Kaisen (the Naval Battle of Miyako Bay). I'm quite sure that your reference, "before sailors boarded the Kotetsu" is based on the battle.

In English article goes; "Kaiten approached the enemy ships and raised the Republic of Ezo flag seconds before boarding Kōtetsu." However, Japanese article never describes "the Republic of Ezo flag". In fact the article says "Nihon Kokki", which literally goes "Flag of Japan" or "Nisshoki", which is "Sun Flag" in other articles.

I want straight to the point: the image should be removed until we have convinced reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.246.244.147 (talk) 13:51, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

And that is something you can do on your own when it comes to removing the flag. In this case, I just wanted to draw an SVG flag to get rid of a fair use image. Also, I am familiar with the Hinomaru, as I wrote most of the content at the article about the Nation flag of Japan. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:26, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I've added references to the sections in question. I'm ready for some more suggestions/a decision on the article. Thanks! Grovermj 01:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Kadima.png)

You've uploaded File:Kadima.png, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Can you do this, but for all states? I particularly want to see how Belarus stacks up against the other countries of the world. Thanks. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 09:15, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Err I guess I could but I think I left the formula there so that anyone can do it. 3 for FA, 2 for A, 1 for GA. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 02:45, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Deletions of Template:Bots

Is there a specific problem with using this template? I note that you deleted several uses of this template. -- User:Docu

I was told it was not supposed to be used in the article space at all. So what I told users is that if they have a problem with a bot, send it my way, and I will deal with it. Or, if it deals with interwikis, I fixed the interwiki link myself to the correct page and the bots stop coming. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 05:24, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Who told you that? As it's not visible on articles, there isn't really in point in removing them. Anyways, the template's documentation page doesn't exclude it and your removal of the template on San Alfonso del Mar makes it appear that my bot is participating in some sort of edit war. Please avoid removing such templates in the future. -- User:Docu
The bot is not participating in an edit war, it just got a few bugs. As I mentioned, if you need help getting a bot fixed, people are here to help you fix it. The purpose of the the template is for userpages, and according to the documentation, once the problem is fixed, then we can remove the template. The problem has been fixed and the template needs to be removed. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 05:38, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
The bot doesn't have a bug, it's just that the editors of the page disagree with the general way of formatting the coordinates. As there isn't much use that the bot gets involved in this, the easiest way of fixing this is to add the template. Indeed, once this disagreement no longer persists, it could be removed. In the meantime, please avoid removing the templates from articles unless there is a good reason to do so. -- User:Docu
I don't care about the position about the coordinates, but what I was going to tell you to is that instead of using that template, just have your bot avoid that page or just do all changes mnaually. There is a lot of easier ways to have that bot avoid editing an article, and using no bots on an article is not encourage (not forbidden, but just frowned upon). User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 05:52, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
There is a feature in the template that can be used for specific bots. -- User:Docu
I know, and as an admin, I can keep track of what bots seem to be causing the most problems. In the case of me and the other admins looking, every bot has an issue with interwiki links. So, what we can do is find the correct interwiki link ourselves or block the bots until that problem is fixed. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:14, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

1947 Sun Bowl image

Unfortunately, I got it from the Virginia Tech Library Web site, which does display a copyright notice. JKBrooks85 (talk) 06:59, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

What I am trying to get at is that even if they try to claim copyright on it, they actually cannot. What I linked you was a page dealing with US Copyright Law. They can try (the key word) to copyright it now, but it might actually be false. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 07:01, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Heya

Was this edit in error? [4] --Rifleman 82 (talk) 10:35, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

The edit has created a wikitext error, so I've reverted it. Is there some concern concerning the fair use of the image in the article? I remember providing a fair-use justification for it. — Cheers, JackLee talk 13:20, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
That wasn't an AWB edit, it was a purpose edit. Anyways Jacklee, considering it is an article about the Law of Singapore, I feel a picture of a billboard announcing a union is not needed in an article like that. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:59, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

New straw poll

You are a user who responded to RFC: Use of logos on sports team pages. As someone interested in the discussion a new straw poll has been laid out to see where we currently stand with regards to building a consensus. As apparent by my talk page, there is some conversation on some images of Japanese prefecture symbols that are claimed as fair use. While the main issue seems to be finding a website that hosts the image, I noticed while looking around I saw File:Symbol of Okinawa Prefecture.svg, the official symbol of the Okinawa Prefecture, which you uploaded. You marked this image as being public domain in Japan, or {{PD-Japan-exempt}}. The issue on my talk page refers to File:PrefSymbol-Saga.png. The image, like the one you uploaded, is the official symbol of the Saga Prefecture, but unlike yours, it is marked as a fair use symbol. Is there any way you could tell me if the symbol of the Saga Prefecture is in the public domain or not, or where you found the information to conclude that it is in the public domain? — Moe ε 00:04, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Pretty much, I took my drawings from official laws. Laws are public domain in Japan, and if we take our drawings from Japanese law, then we can claim it as public domain. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't upload the other image, so I didn't know the website it was originally hosted from, but I knew the Saga Prefecture's government in Japan made it. Thanks for clearing this up. — Moe ε 00:16, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
If I use the official construction sheets, that is when I use the PD tag. If I got it from elsewhere, I choose fair use until I find something otherwise. Welcome. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:26, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, I am unable to find the construction sheets for the symbol of the Saga Prefecture, like in your image description, so should it remain a fair use image? — Moe ε 00:29, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
To be safe, yes. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:31, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Do you think the description on File:PrefSymbol-Saga.png is clear enough? — Moe ε 00:47, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Threshold AfD

Hiya. The first Threshold AfD has been deleted. I was wondering whether you could say a little more about this? I was wondering because it's being refered to in the second AfD and in several places on the internets, and I imagine things look a little confusing right now. -- Mvuijlst (talk) 15:22, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

There was some information there that had to be hidden, and it was requested on the OTRS mail system. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Would it be possible to just hide the information that needs to be hidden and leave the rest, do you think? -- Mvuijlst (talk) 20:09, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
I did hide the deletion summary and that is about it that is left. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:11, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh. I didn't realise it was the deletion summary that had to be hidden... would it be possible to get the discussion back then, and leave the deletion summary as is? -- Mvuijlst (talk) 21:36, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I second Mvuijlst's concerns. A lot went on at this AfD and it might need to be referenced in any future cases involving the article. Themfromspace (talk) 21:43, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Because of the contents raised in the OTRS email, I cannot have the discussion brought back, but I left the deletion summary in the hidden tags <!-- like this --> so that can be read. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 21:59, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

File:Coat_of_arms_of_Yukon.svg

Hi Zach, Source of File:Coat_of_arms_of_Yukon.svg is busted. See: http://www.openclipart.org/cgi-bin/navigate/signs_and_symbols/flags/america/canada

Searches for “Yukon“ and “Yukon coat of arms" at: http://openclipart.org/media/search/results only returned a user named "Yukon."

I am a little touchy on images, because of what happened to my first upload, so I do not know if I am being bold or obsessive — can something like this just be ignored?

Or is nothing ignored at Wikipedia?

Thanks, Mitch3000 06:05, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

What happened was that the coat of arms image that you displayed now, it was taken from the SVG image of the Yukon flag. I swore I made that clear in the image summary. As for what happened with the first image, if a Free Image is replacing an image under fair use, then we have to replace it and put the fair use image up for deletion. Removing Ezo flag

New Year Greeting, I am writing to ask your permission if it is ok to remove your work of "the flag of Ezo Republic", since we are unable to see any reference regards to the flag. But if there is any comment or reason you need to say, I would like to see at this page: I will check sometimes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.245.162.144 (talk) 08:48, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

If it is removing from articles, you don't need my permission to do that. But to get an image deleted to where no Wikipedia can use it, that is another can of worms. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 09:07, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Accordingly, I removed the flag from the page, and I appreciate your understanding. I don't quite understand what you mean by "worms", but I understand your own creative images are not suitable to those pages. Of course, we can re-consider at anytime when there are some reference to see. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.113.230.86 (talk) 12:04, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

When I speak of "can of worms", see this phrase. As I told you, if you wanted to remove it from articles, you do not need my permission to do it. But if you are asking me to arrange the image to be deleted (or physically removed from the site without any chance at reuse), that is a different issue. Thanks for uploading File:Coat of arms of Singapore.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Image deletion rationale

I followed a link here from a deletion log, unfortunately that can't be updated after archiving I guess. You involved a conversation here. I got pretty lucky because I managed to find it on my first go. I am confused, wikimedia site says pics are kept as example series archives, yet none are there anymore. Your deletion of Jeffrey H. Norwitz

Back in January you deleted the article Jeffrey H. Norwitz based on a request via an OTRS ticket.

I came across a current reference (this week) to comments from a counter-terrorism from the Coast Guard Academy. It took me a while to determine if this was Norwitz, or one of his colleagues.

During the course of checking -- I went to remind myself of exactly how you explained the deletion.

Your talk page said you left me a note on my talk page. But that explanation seems to have gone AWOL. Did you remove that discussion from my talk page?

My recollection is that you said that the OTRS rules authorized administrators to comply with a deletion request, if in their sole judgment, the article was "not notable". Have I got that right?

I continue to see this as a disturbing loophole. For ordinary articles administrators are only allowed to delete articles that satisfy a criteria for speedy deletion -- and "not notable" is not a criteria for speedy deletion.

I can't tell if I am repeating myself, because I can't find that earlier discussion.

Did we discuss me taking this to DRV? If so, what was your reply? Geo Swan (talk) 06:01, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Please help on correct presentation of the flag of Macedonia

the former and the actual flag of Macedonia in front of the Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena in Skopje

Hello Zscout370. I noticed you have knowledge of flags and that you also draw flags for wikipedia. The flag of the Republic of Macedonia is not really correct. The sun in the middle of the flag is a little bit to small. I do not know how to draw flags, so I wanted to ask you if you could draw a new proper version.

The correct look of the Macedonian flag is as follows:

http://www.slvesnik.com.mk/WBStorage/Files/Zname.gif Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia

http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/mk.html Flags of the World

Please answer if you're able to draw it. Regards. 93.219.251.32 (talk) 03:47, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I will be able to. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 14:43, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/e/e2/20060206155816!Republic_of_China_Army_Flag.svg Republic of China Army Flag

Hi, I notice that recently you have made some changes to the File:Republic of China Army Flag.svg, and my opinion is that the blue is too dark, so dark that it lloks like black. The older version by user:Kibinsky since 2006 seems to be of a lighter blue, and is more near to the Blue sky red sun original definition. Please let me know what you think. Arilang talk 10:38, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

There has been people telling me this shade is right, then this person yells at me for being too dark and stuff. People hated the old shades. My suggestion is you and the others find some sort of consensus, then come back and see me. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 02:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Please there is no hate or love regarding color, really, there is only right or wrong. I shall come back with the old and traditional image of Blue Sky/White Sun to show you the old and true color, in order to get it right, once and for all. Please I have never yell at you. Arilang talk 07:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Light blue or dark blue

thumb|300px|left|The Whampoa Military Academy emblem

I put the Whampoa Military Academy emblem alongside your design of Kuomintang.svg, cleary there is a very distinct difference of the blue color in them. The Whampoa Military Academy emblem should be treated as the original and the true color of the Kuomintang emblem, not the other way around. Thank you. Arilang talk 07:49, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Also, please have a look at :

There are plenty of Blue Sky/Red Sun design on Chinese wikipedia, that can be used as reference, other then based on who say what. I hope this color issue can be settle once and for all. Thank you. Arilang talk 09:18, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Arilang talk 08:53, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

I have upload an image of the Kuomintang national emblem just to show you the difference in the color blue, thanks. I hope this image can be helpfull. Arilang talk 12:46, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I have tried to use a similiar blue as the KMT emblem, but was told to change it. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 21:25, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment Zscout, I have further upload the relevent images into commons, could you explain to me how to gain consensus? Thanks.

CMYK note on Flag of Kosovo

Hope you know that RGB is an inherently device-dependent color system (depending on the characteristics of your monitor, viewing illumination etc.). So there's no one single correct CMYK to RGB conversion system, and any program which converts CMYK to RGB without asking you to first calibrate your monitor is not authoritative... AnonMoos (talk) 09:04, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

The CMYK is all that we know and that was just a crapshoot trying to figure out. A website that I help send info to, Kosovo Thanks You, has documents from the flag designer himself about the colors he used, but Wikipedia rejected that info. I will try and get in touch with the site and perhaps the designer. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

As you entered the WikiCup late

Chabad-Lubavitch

As mentioned on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Belarus#Indiscriminate_tagging, a lot of articles connected with the Chabad-Lubavitch chasidic movement were tagged for the WikiProject Belarus. It has already been mentioned there that this is a lot too far-fetched, except perhaps for the articles about a few rabbi's who were born in places that at one time or the other belonged to what is now Belarus.

I have done some removals today, but really think you should have done that. Please be more carefull next time. I do understand correctly that it was you responsible for this? Debresser (talk) 01:23, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

WikiCup participates in the Wikipedia:The Great Wikipedia Dramaout

Hello all, iMatthew here. I just wanted to let you know about "The Great Wikipedia Dramaout" which starts this Saturday. The goal of the Dramaout is to spend five days working on improving articles and abstaining from any of Wikipedia's drama. I don't think that any of you will have a problem focusing on articles for five days, because of course, any work you get done during the Dramaout will count towards your score in the WikiCup. Details are on the page; hope to see you all signing up! :) iMatthew talk at 00:27, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
