UK Ultimate
Hello,
I received a message saying you had nominated the page I created for UK Ultimate for "Speedy Deletion"
This is my first attempt at putting a page on Wikipedia and I was really gutted to find that someone had, within minutes of a first edit, asked for the page to be deleted. I understand that there is policy and procedures, of which I am new too, but I would appreciate guidance and help on the matter (how to create a correct page) rather than just having it asked to be deleted outright.
Please could you help me by suggesting changes or format for the page. Obviously I would also appreciate if you could un-nominating the page for deletion, if this is possible.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liamney29 (talk • contribs) 16:45, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Re: Adminship Mentoring
Sorry if I couldn't get back to you sooner. I have very spotty internet time. I'm willing to become your adminship coach and help you to become a better Wikipedian, and a potential adminship candidate. While I'm no longer an administrator, I still have over seven years experience in the project. I could show you the in and out's of the project that very few editors know about, such as copyright cleanup involving cleanup tags and so forth. Let me know. Also do you use WP:IRC? Jungle Ultra Marathon
Hi there.
I think it is you that I need to talk to - correct me if not as I do not use Wiki a great deal. We created a page on a race in Peru that holds great significance to the local tribes and ongoing conservation works. The race is an Ultra like many on Wiki - the page in fact made sure to reference many sources both internal, wiki and external and has been up on Wiki without a problem for around 2 years. I see now that it has been deleted! I really do not understand this - the page met all of the guidelines set out by Wikipedia and surpassed every other page in the same category. I would appreciate your comments on this please.
Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Worldwide Happy Media (talk • contribs) 14:39, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Yutsi - I didn't even know the page was being reviewed - it has been on Wiki for nearly 2 years. I didn't get a notification that anything was wrong via e-mail and hadn't been on here for a while. Shame, it looks like a nightmare to get sorted - thanks for your help though. Hi
I made a page for my amateur football team, I'm pretty sure it's acceptable within wiki rules as I have seen other similar things. I am quite inexperienced at this kind of thing, please let me know if I have done anything wrong. Deletion
Hi,
Thanks for your response. I don't take it as a personal attack and I had not previously read the link you had provided, to be honest there was a lot of options and help to read and I didn't really have the time. As much as I appreciate wikipedia I can't afford to spend any substantial time editing it and I don't really have the skill set to make a notable contribution. I hope my page can remain but I fully understand if it does not meet the T's and C's.
thanks for your help

GOCE March drive wrap-up
Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! This is the most successful drive we have had for quite a while. Here is your end-of-drive wrap-up newsletter. Participation Of the 70 people who signed up for this drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Special acknowledgement goes out to Lfstevens, who did over 200 articles, most of them in the last third of the drive, and topped all three leaderboard categories. You're a superstar! Stfg and others have been pre-checking the articles for quality and conformance to Wikipedia guidelines; some have been nominated for deletion or had some preliminary clean-up done to help make the copy-edit process more fun and appealing. Thanks to all who helped get those nasty last few articles out of the target months. Progress report During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy-editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy-editing at this time for other reasons. The {{GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators. Thank you for participating in the March 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy-edit drive will be in May. GOCE May mid-drive newsletter
Guild of Copy Editors May 2012 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter
Participation: Out of 49 people signed up for this drive so far, 26 have copy-edited at least one article. It's a smaller group than last drive, but we're making good progress. If you've signed up but haven't yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: We're on track to meet our targets for the drive, largely due to the efforts of Lfstevens and the others on the leaderboard. Thanks to all. We have reduced our target group of articles—January, February, and March 2011—by over half, and it looks like we will achieve that goal. Good progress is being made on the overall backlog as well, with over 500 articles copy-edited during the drive so far. The total backlog currently sits at around 3200 articles. Hall of Fame: GOCE coordinator Diannaa was awarded a spot in the GOCE Hall of Fame this month! She has copy-edited over 1567 articles during these drives, and surpassed the 1,000,000-word mark on May 5. Dear Madam/Sir,
I've created two articles, the same content but slightly diff title.

- Hello, Rudy. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes, ~~~~. The only ways that you could help prevent deletion is by cleaning up the article (e.g., adding wikilinks, using proper inline citations), renaming the article to a simpler title, (i.e., Tawuran), and adding more reliable sources. However, if the article is deleted, don't take it too personally, because we're just doing our job as maintainers of Wikipedia. Instead, learn from your mistakes, and if/when you decide to create an article in the future.--Yutsi Talk/ Contributions 18:38, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi Yutsi, Congrat for your STAR. Thanks for the advise and sorry for the missing signature tilde. The reason I create the same article is to add TAWURAN word in the title. SO, I jus copy paste from the old artcle to the new plus new Title. No probelm for me if it will be deleted. I consider it as learning my mistake. About Tawuran for deletion
Hi Yutsi Regarding Tawuran (ingroup fighting) for deletion, I've added wili links and added external link to reliaboe source such as a university library link. How long should it be until you decided to delete or remove the deletion tag? What shooudl I do next. Sorry I'm bit new in wiki. Thank you. 114.79.12.215 (talk) 11:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hello. I'm still in favor of deleting the article as it stand right now. But you are still free to improve it, and can argue in opposition of Tawuran's deletion at its AfD page. You cannot, however, simply remove the deletion template from the article without achieving appropriate consensus to keep it.--yutsi Talk/ Contributions 13:51, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi Yutsi, thanks for reply. How long until it is deleted? To me, the sooner the better, because its negative impact on the essay and me as the contributor. So I can get lessons and start contribute again. Rudys (talk) 09:09, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

I have fixed your PROD - the reason it looked all funny was that you tried to suppress the action of {{db-band}} by putting <code> ... </code> tags round it. Progress report: We were once again successful in our primary goal—removing the oldest three months from the backlog—while removing 1166 articles from the queue, the second-most in our history. The total backlog currently sits at around 2600 articles, down from 8323 when we started out just over two years ago. Coodinator election: The six-month term for our third tranche of Guild coordinators will be expiring at the end of June. Physicians for Social Responsibility
Hi Yutsi,
You reverted an edit of mine for Physicians for Social Responsibility. I understand why you may think that it constitutes vandalism, however, wikipedia should not be a source of only positive advertising. PSR is a fantastic organization that, unfortunately, has a Board of Directors and Executive Director that are doing a disservice to its history. Staff are leaving at an alarming rate and, the ones that remain (like me) are trying to raise a public protest.
I would appreciate you reverting your reversal of my addition. This is in good-faith. I also edited some of the numbers which are blatant lies by the organization. The source they use is our website which is not exactly... a dispassionate source of information on PSR.

- Well, I don't personally have any interest or knowledge in the topic, and other editors can't really fix the article if they don't know what's wrong with it! :) —Yutsi Talk/ Contributions ( 偉特 ) 13:46, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Onizuka Prop Wash Award
On 20 July 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Onizuka Prop Wash Award, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that the Onizuka Prop Wash Award is named after Ellison Onizuka, a USAF TPS graduate who died in the Challenger explosion? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Onizuka Prop Wash Award. If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Final results, including barnstars awarded, will be available early in August here. We are just two articles away from completing all requests made before July 2012 (both are in progress).
