Welcome!

Hello, Xnatedawgx, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. The article The Waterford has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Crux

[edit]

In Crux (disambiguation) I have deleted your entry "* Crux, punk band", as it points to the page about the star constellation Crux (= the Southern Cross). If you restore this line, please provide more information about this punk band "Crux" and prove that it is notable: see WP:NN. Anthony Appleyard 04:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of California companies

[edit]

I'm going to nominate List of California companies for deletion.--evrik (talk) 10:23, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Gates Corporation, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.globalspec.com/Supplier/Profile/Gates. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 15:54, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Beacon International

[edit]

The article Blue Beacon International has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 18:13, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:TacoJohnsModern.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TacoJohnsModern.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:10, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jesus Wept (band)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jesus Wept (band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —treyomg he's back 00:21, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Can you elaborate on this edit? The Assemblies of God article doesn't mention "Promise Keepers" and the Promise Keepers doesn't mention "Assemblies of God". If there's a connection can you add something to one of the articles? --Stormie 02:14, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Companies

[edit]

Is there some sort of discussion on where it was decided to move everthing in the Portland area to the "companies based in Portland metro area"? One, it needs to be renamed as there is more than one Portland (that's why its Companies based in Portland, Oregon), and second we just moved away from a similar situation as editors had a tendincy to throw any business within 200 miles of Portland into the category, since the metro area tends to be an arbitrary and variable area (add changed frequently as Salem used to be part of it and Yamhill County did not). Thanks. Aboutmovies (talk) 01:38, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated the category for deletion, here: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 November 21#Category:Companies based in the Portland metropolitan area. Katr67 (talk) 15:38, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I got a response back from one editor of the page, who thought adding my site might have merit. He suggested asking other page editors to consider the site and see if a link can/should be added. I'm noticing that there is already a link to a site described as an "independent" resource on RCI, and with due respect to that sites owner, it is a fraction of the resource and project I am working on myself. The community is growing in activity, provides information not seen elsewhere on the internet. Not that it is the intent of Wikipedia to become a large-scale links page, but I would argue RoyalCaribbeanFan.com warrants a link given established standards already on display.

The specific site link is www.RoyalCaribbeanFan.com.

I'd appreciate a few more people looking into it, and possibly acting on adding the link if it does have the merit it would seem to have. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NWLB (talkcontribs) 05:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

Please stop removing categories from articles without an edit summary like you did here. You have been advised against this practice by other users. If you continue to do this, it may be considered vandalism and appropriate action can be taken against your account. Thanks. ++Arx Fortis 00:04, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summaries

[edit]

In reviewing your edit history, it is apparent that you make it a habit of not providing an edit summary. Editors are encouraged to always use edit summaries. Doing so helps to communicate your intent/reasoning behind your edits. See WP:ES. Thanks. ++Arx Fortis 00:16, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A good example of why this is important would be your recent edit to Griffin Technology. You removed Category:Companies based in Tennessee[1] (I'm assuming because it was redundant to Category:Companies based in Nashville), but because you didn't use an edit summary, another edit was confused as to why and reverted you.[2]
There's a way of making sure you always use an edit summary. Go to Special:Preferences, and click on the "Editing" tab. The last option is "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary", which if checked, will prevent you from leaving blank edit summaries. EVula // talk // // 19:51, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of Alabama companies

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Alabama companies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of List of Alabama companies. New Project

[edit]

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 18:43, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Economy of (city)" categories

[edit]

Based on a this discussion it is clear that your adding of this type of category to every business article is not a reasonable use of categories. Please refrain from doing so in the future. Vegaswikian (talk) 21:40, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I second the above. You often add multiple categories for "Economy of ..." to individual company articles. A company is properly listed under the category "Companies based in (City, State)." Excess and inappropriate categorization make wikipedia less relevant and harder to navigate.
For example, all of the categories you had added Here were inappropriate and deleted.OccamzRazor (talk) 21:32, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of La Posada Hote

A tag has been placed on La Posada Hote requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. more on Las Vegas hospitals

[edit]

Maybe it is best if there were no categories in the template? When the template was started, the articles had no categories and it only had a few articles. As hospitals have been added and it now covers, Henderson, LV, the county and NLV maybe it is time to simply remove all of the categories. I'll do that. Can you check to make sure that the hospitals are either in the county page or one for the city? Vegaswikian (talk) 18:39, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are no categories being added by the template. However if you look in the various categories, the article may still appear since the system is apparently behind in making updates. Speedy deletion of Antlers Hilton Hotel

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Antlers Hilton Hotel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Hawaii categories

[edit]

Good job on the categories. We actually need a lot of expansion and work on Category:Hawaii, so if you keep the lines of communication open, I'm hoping we can work together to achieve the same goals. Would you be interested in joining WP:HAWAII in order to work closer with the project on this task? Viriditas (talk) 05:06, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I understand why you are dropping the towns, for example in Category:Maui when they are already tagged as part of the county. Could you explain? Towns are already categorized in the county cats under Category:Geography of Maui. We don't need the duplication in the parent cat, so please stop for now. Viriditas (talk) 05:20, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
They are already in the Maui category under Category:Geography of Maui. Please stop duplicating the categories under the parent. The parent category, Category:Maui should be empty except for articles that need categories or higher (top) level articles. This is why I've asked you to join WikiProject Hawaii and discuss what you want to do with the project. If you talked about this first, you would know this. The project has a lot of categorization tasks that need work, so we would welcome your help, but what you are doing is not helping. If you want to help categorize Maui articles, the first thing you can do is find Maui articles that do not have a Maui category and add them to Category:Maui. That's one thing you can do. Then, they can be moved to subcats in most instances. But, duplicating categories is not helping, as I'm just going to remove all the categories you have added. Viriditas (talk) 05:26, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but you are mistaken. All of the towns that are categorized by county (such as the ones you are adding Maui to) are already members of the Geography category. It's been there for a long time. If you need help, let me know, but please stop what you are doing. Viriditas (talk) 05:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here, this might help you:

Do you see Maui County listed above? Viriditas (talk) 05:30, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The towns are there, look again. It's under Maui County, Hawaii. If they aren't, then they should be added to that category. Remember, Maui County is a subcategory of Geography of Maui, which is a subcat of Maui. Viriditas (talk) 05:34, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's a bit more complicated than that, but if you would like to start a discussion about the current categorization scheme, you are welcome to do so on the project talk page. Viriditas (talk) 05:42, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As I've stated on the discussion page (which I left up for a week before changing to allow for any discussion), and in my edit, no one calls the University of Minnesota "UM". That is why I have deleted it from the page. Please do not revert to the previous form without a rationale for your explanations. Thank you. Dpodoll68 (talk) 20:46, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Trivial or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability. All content must be verifiable.

This page is to help determine whether an organization (commercial or otherwise), or any of its products and services, is a valid subject for a Wikipedia article. The scope of this guideline covers all groups of people organized together for a purpose, although people gathered for more specific purposes may be governed by more specific guidelines. For example, people gathered together for the purpose of making music are covered by WP:MUSIC.

Simply stated, an organization is a group of more than one person formed together for a purpose. This includes commercial and non-commercial activities including, but not limited to, charitable organizations, educational institutions, hospitals, institutions, interest groups, organizations, social clubs, companies, partnerships, proprietorships, religious denominations, sects, etc.

This guideline does not cover small groups of closely related people such as families, entertainment groups, co-authors, and co-inventors covered by WP:Notability (people).

Notable means "worthy of being noted" or "attracting notice." It is not synonymous with "fame" or "importance." Please consider notable and demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education. Large organizations are likely to have more readily available verifiable information from reliable sources that provide evidence of notability; however, smaller organizations can be notable, just as individuals can be notable, and arbitrary standards should not be used to create a bias favoring larger organizations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DeltaLodgeDown (talkcontribs) 22:14, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Hilton Anchorage

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Hilton Anchorage, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Not a particularly notable building, the sources cited are not reliable.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Xnatedawgx! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 34 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 20:07, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RTD Line template

[edit]

I admire how much effort you have put in to add all of the crossings to the Template:RTD B Line, Template:RTD G Line, and Template:RTD N Line pages, but I think it looks really cluttered now. Before it was simple to see which stations came in which order, but now you have to look through a bunch of other stuff. Some of the other line templates, i.e. Template:RTD C Line and Template:RTD D Line etc, only include the major highways that the route crosses. I think this leads to a cleaner look while still including some orienting landmarks. I would propose we do the same with the B, G, and N Line templates as well. Is this agreeable to you? This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 29th & Welton Station, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 29th & Welton (RTD). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:08, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

29th & Welton

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 29th & Welton (RTD) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 29th & Welton Station. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. BethNaught (talk) 11:51, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You might look in on

[edit]

…the Scum/SOTEC article. It has undergone a major update. Remember, the goal is accurate to sources, and so we can only improve it to the extent that sources give us material. As a Denver native/ex-pat, you may know of sources that can be used to improve the article. (And perhaps can source the Lincoln Park statement.)

We have the Merritt article at RNS in 2014, another stray one or two similarly recent (but with limited content), then we are back at 2011 and earlier. Point is, we do not have (i) a well-sourced recent history of church changes and direction, (ii) a thorough history of church leadership at the various sites. (As well, the Co. Springs church is discrepantly presented either as unaffiliated or as a sister church in different references.)

Point is, I have done almost as much as I can, given the sources and what I know. Someone who knows and cares about the old sources needs to weigh in, as does someone with more recent sourcing. Note, I am aware that some awkwardnesses are still in place (e.g., the Leadership section, separated because so spotty in source and fact, and the chronologic Further reading). THese are temporary, and explained in notes in the markup (also temporary). Cheers. Le Prof Leprof 7272 (talk) 20:12, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Station article titles

[edit]

Please see WP:USSTATION and WP:NCCAPS: "Do not capitalize the second or subsequent words in an article title, unless the title is a proper name." Do not move again without a discussion. You have already improperly moved some other station articles with cut and paste. Secondarywaltz (talk) 17:39, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Mark Jackson in 2007.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. A tag has been placed on Category:First National Bank buildings requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. SounderBruce 03:46, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
