Welcome!
Hello Wikibear47 and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- The project Academy has lots of useful information about editing and writing military history articles. One very useful introductory course to get you started is Writing a good stub.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.
- If you would like to receive the project's monthly newsletter, The Bugle, please sign up here.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 15:48, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
Voting for coordinators is now open!
Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election have opened. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting will commence on 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:41, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
Slow down with AfDs
Hello, you’ve put up 10 articles for deletion, some with intervals of just a few seconds. And all of them just says Notability issue. WP:GNG.
You need to be more detailed with your rationales and also please slow down. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 05:25, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- Please either add a detailed rationale to each of your AfDs or withdraw them. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 05:50, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- Working on that. If I can't then will surely withdraw. Wikibear47 (talk) 05:53, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- Wikibear47, I encourage you to withdraw these AFDs. You can't just post the same deletion rationale for a dozen AFD discussions. You have to do a WP:BEFORE for each article. Do your homework first. Liz Read! Talk! 06:20, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- As per suggestion I have withdrawn all AFDs. Sorry for inconvenience everyone. Wikibear47 (talk) 07:14, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- But I have to say, you picked the right articles for deletion so please don't be discouraged. I checked out a few of them and they really don't belong on WP. The issue was that your AFD rationales weren't clear. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 14:27, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah could have done better with the rationales. However like you said I still think that most of them don't belong in an encyclopedia. Wikibear47 (talk) 14:32, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- No one is stopping you from trying again, but please nominate a maximum of 2 or 3 at a time and include detailed rationales. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 04:40, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Link removal
Hello @Wikibear47, i may ask why did you remove a link from the article of List of active aircrafts of Pakistan Air Force. The article List of equipment of the Pakistan Air Force is hidden as it does not appear on search and the only way someone can access it is through the main Pakistan Air Force article. This is the reason why added the link there as many people confuse this article with "List of equipment of the Pakistan Army" and most don't even know its there. Furthermore you removed this link from the See also section as well, i do not see any reason of removing the link from that section. Syed Ayan Ather (talk) 08:47, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
@Syed Ayan Ather Because it looked unproperly linked in my opinion and was also looking very weird location wise e.g. liking it to #aircraft instead of just the entire page. Your comments about people unable to find the article are correct. That's why if you see Template:Pakistan Air Force main I have linked all the newly created PAF pages very nicely in it. This template is already inserted in all relevant pages from which any one can access them. However if you still think that links are needed than go ahead. Just insert the links at the bottom of the page like here. Wikibear47 (talk) 09:53, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, I will only insert the link at the bottom of the page in the "See also" section. Syed Ayan Ather (talk) 11:14, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
