An article you recently created, Capture of Mers-el-Kébir (1505), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Algiers (disambiguation), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bombardment of Algiers. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi thanks fir creating Ibrahim ben Ramdan Dey. This is an area where English Wikipedia really lacks good coverage. Also, I just realised I recently worked in a draft you created, Capture of Mers-el-Kébir (1505), and got it back into mainspace. Good luck with your editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help. Mccapra (talk) 05:59, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Morocco (Population)

[edit]

Thanks very much!

Dear Whatever748, thank you for your commitment and your editing in the article Morocco (Population). I saw user Skitash vandalizing here. I have the same problem with him in the Maghreb (Population) article. He deletes all sources which leads back to a Berber origin. I give authentic sources of scientists. Skitash "refutes" them with sources and claims from some authors and journalists who have dealt purely with the language and culture but not with genetics.

I have already sent an email to an administrator. I hope that this vandalism will be stopped soon.

Duplicate Ali khodja/Baba ali chaouch

[edit]

Hi, can you check thèse two sources, because i find no mention about them through its and they have same family pattern. Gavecuriut (talk) 18:25, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I believe those sources are already checked, but thankfully if you have an accessible website to check them, i'll comply. I will have to agree with you that while Baba Ali I was a Kouloughli his "Algerian Kabyle-Mingrelian" origins are likely a confusion with Ali V Ben Ahmed (Ali Khodja).
Whatever748 (talk) 18:30, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, can you give me the forum link please ? I notice you bring the second source [2], can you highlight the sentence which talk about this please ? Gavecuriut (talk) 18:42, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by forum link? And as i said, the Algerian-Mingrelian origins of Baba Ali Chaouch was likely a mistake from anoher other who mistook him for Ali V Khodja
Whatever748 (talk) 18:45, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is a forum to discuss with each other ? You have brought the source so you have the proof of this information. We need the sentences that point out the family origin of Baba Ali Chaouch. Can we remove these sources from Ali Khodja ? Gavecuriut (talk) 19:07, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You make little sense here. Ali Khodja al-Mengreli is the one we know is a Algerian Kabyle-Mingrelian kouloughli. Baba Ali Chaouch is the one who was mixed up with Ali Khodja. If anything we need to remove it from Baba Ali Chaouch. The source while i can't find and open edition for it now, referred to Ali Khodja's mother being a Zwawa woman. I don't know who moved it to Baba Ali Chaouch's page, but i certainly didn't. Whatever748 (talk) 19:12, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We need the corresponding paragraph to be sure, i have found "the forum" btw. Gavecuriut (talk) 19:23, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
