Articles for Creation Reviewing

Purge to update

I recently sent you an invitation to join NPP, but you also might be the right candidate for another related project, AfC, which is also extremely backlogged.
Would you please consider becoming an Articles for Creation reviewer? Articles for Creation reviewers help new users learn the ropes of creating their first articles, and identify whether topics are suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Reviewing drafts doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia inclusion policies and guidelines; currently Wikipedia needs experienced users at this task. (After requesting to be added to the project, reviewing is not mandatory. One can do it at their convenience). But kindly read the reviewing instructions before making your decision. Thanks. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 02:48, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

Thought I'd bring this guy to your attention

Been trying to report Jodense as a possible Dakotaparty sockpuppet to no avail. At times he kept on adding fluff about himself on various Philippine-related pages, but no one seems to have outed him as an LTA sock. Care to cover me on this one, mate? Blake Gripling (talk) 06:16, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, that's definitely Dakotaparty. I'll monitor his edits. -WayKurat (talk) 09:49, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
Sure thing, mate. I think we might as well create an LTA page for this guy for others to be made aware of his MO. Blake Gripling (talk) 10:19, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
Well that sucks, @Bbb23: still dismissed the sock evidence as bunk even if it's glaringly obvious. You know anyone else who can provide backup for this? Blake Gripling (talk) 02:30, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
Another way is to report this user to ANI or AIV, the reason is that this user keeps on adding his name on several Philippine TV related articles. The main Jodense Valenciano article has not been recreated by any other sock because it has been indefinitely protected since 2016. We can try to report Jodense to ANI or AIV for this reason as the Dakotaparty sock connection has already been debunked numerous times. -WayKurat (talk) 02:51, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
ANI should be a more appropriate venue for this, provided we present more than enough compelling evidence to prove his connection to the sockmaster. Blake Gripling (talk) 03:40, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

Request

Could I possibly ask you to keep an eye on the Darna (upcoming film) article for vandalism and all kinds of disruptive edits? I believe this article will experience high activity from different users by the time the subject gets ample media coverage. Tks, Slightlymad (talkcontribs) 05:56, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

I'll look into it as well, given the extensive media coverage it has generated from what I gather, not to mention that the lead actress is something of an A-lister here so it's no surprise. Blake Gripling (talk) 08:44, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

Try giving an edit summary.

What the hell is your problem? Edit summaries are for a reason. Your failure to communicate is not helping. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.106.134.164 (talk) 18:22, 4 July 2018 (UTC)

CSD

Hi, it was deleted by csdG5 during the AFD so I don't think G4 applies, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:26, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

@Atlantic306: OK what do you suggest to tag this article for CSD? Obviously this was created multiple times as per the AFD and the creator of this article is just here to vandalize. I have reported this vandal so many times and they cannot block this vandal out of technicalities (reported to SPI, the SPI case is stale, report it to AIV, out of scope). -WayKurat (talk) 17:36, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
Never mind, I just changed it to db-person. -WayKurat (talk) 17:39, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited DWWX-TV, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Channel (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:19, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:16, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Thought we'd advise the likes of @LG-Gunther: and the others not to leave any warnings on userspace pages belonging to Bertrand sockpuppets. I don't think that warning him would be worth the trouble (and SQL space) considering how this friend of ours never even communicates with us anyway. About MICAA Aired by ABC 5

WayKurat. ABC 5 aired MICAA. I want to add MICAA on ABC 5. And Please don't removed it. ABC 5 aired MICAA from 1970-1972. StevenNBA89 (talk) 06:43, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

Please find sources first. -WayKurat (talk) 06:44, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

Finding source about airing MICAA on ABC 5 in 1970-1972

I find source. the manila industrial and commercial athletic association page. you can see abc 5. StevenNBA89 (talk) 01:54, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Find a source that is from a newspaper, not from other pages. ABC's name is in the MICAA Wikipedia page doesn't mean that it is true. -WayKurat (talk) 02:01, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello, WayKurat. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Use of rollback at DWNB-TV

Hi WayKurat. I was responding to a request at WP:RFPP when I noticed your use of Rollback at DWNB-TV. From what I can see, your use of rollback there is not in line with our policy concerning the use of rollback, as it was not to remove obvious vandalism (though it was uncited) and an edit summary concerning the revert would have been beneficial. Please be more careful in the future and only use rollback in situations where no explanation regarding a revert would be needed. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best, Mifter (talk) 04:43, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

Hello. Looking at your recent edits, it still looks like you are using rollback for non-obvious vandalism where an edit summary would be beneficial. Looking at reverts like this and this it looks you used rollback to revert good faith edits. Could you please explain your rationale for using rollback there? Best, Mifter (talk) 23:03, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
Those edits were made by a possible IP of longtime vandal, User:Charlesaustria971. The said vandal keeps on adding lists of DJs on the DWLS article and uses "Fixed typo" as his edit summary. They were removed several times by other editors due to WP:LISTCRUFT since 2016. Please see this SPI for details of the vandal's activities. -WayKurat (talk) 00:05, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification. Best, Mifter (talk) 00:31, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Need help with vandal edits in Ngayon at Kailanman

I need admin help to check or block user ID: 49.150.40.242 and 49.150.42.165 due to disruptive editing, they repeatedly disregard editors’ requests to stop changing last names of the characters in this tv series. The series finished and these editor(s) appears to be using multiple addresses and continue their wrong edits despite the fact that they have been asked not to. See today’s edits here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/879147211 and previous days https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/879022241. He or she has been asked and warned repeatedly but they don’t stop. Thank you for your assistance.Pipamidalton (talk) 11:14, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

I'm not an admin (yet) but you can report the IPs at WP:AIV. You can also ask help at WT:PINOY. I'm sure that there are Pinoy admins there that can help you. -WayKurat (talk) 16:19, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

Two IP editors inserting the same content

Hi. I noticed your warning on the talk page of 112.206.198.125. Just FYI, 112.206.200.105 seems to have been doing the exact same thing. I've placed a warning template on that page, as well. I'm not sure if this behavior counts as sockpuppetry, so I'm not sure what to do next. But I thought I'd give you a heads up. - Alternativity (talk) 05:58, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

What...

...do you make of this? Drmies (talk) 17:19, 22 August 2019 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Women's National Basketball League (Philippines), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Kapamilya Gold

Just a friendly heads up on Kapamilya Gold. I declined your speedy deletion request because it's no where close to meeting the requirements of WP:G1. I'm not sure where you were going with this -- I don't see a speedy category this would even fit into. ----Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:33, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

Hmmm

Maybe you can have a look at this. Drmies (talk) 15:37, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Philippine TV station edits

Hi there, I was patrolling recent changes and I came across this user who is making a lot of unexplained changes to Philippine TV station articles. I don't know anything about the subject and most of the articles aren't sourced, so I can't tell if the edits are hoaxes or not. You seem experienced in this area so I just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks, SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 10:00, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Upon checking most of the edits are unsourced. I'll revert the unsourced edits. -WayKurat (talk) 01:00, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
@SpicyMilkBoy: Looks like there is a possibility that this account is a sockpuppet of banned editor User:Jimlantabanao. And there is a bit of resemblance that this account is also behind the abandoned account User:Cutieboyz225. -WayKurat (talk) 03:21, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
That looks like a match. I filed a SPI - thanks for your help. SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 04:08, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
