Mary of Woodstock

[edit]

Seeing the RD/H discussion about King Edward's daughter Mary, I was interested enough to read the article; thanks for the work. I've nominated it for DYK. Nyttend (talk) 03:34, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for flagging my bot ChzzBot (talk · contribs) so promptly; I know that 'crat work often goes unnoticed, so I just wanted to say...thanks!  Chzz  ►  21:29, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Democratic Labour Party (UK), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Democratic Labour Party (UK). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ironholds (talk) 17:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kww 3 - Bureaucrat discussion

[edit]
Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Kww 3/Bureaucrat discussion

I've opened a bureaucrat chat in relation to this RfA as I don't think the outcome is particularly clear cut. If you have a moment, I'd appreciate your input. WJBscribe (talk) 20:04, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Diane Leek - no evidence of notoriety

[edit]

Diane Leek is a former Lord Mayor of Sheffield, people have been gradually creating pages for *all* Lord Mayors of Sheffield. Also, Diane notorisously had to stand for election twice after been disqualified, and hextupled her majority, then lost, then was re-elected with the city's biggest majority. Her by-election is the only one that has the prefix "The" and everybody knows what is meant. Also, give me a chance, I'm still digging the original sources out of the archives! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.166.131.85 (talk) 19:37, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What an amazing life. Thanks for writing his biography.   Will Beback  talk  08:13, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some discussion please?

[edit]

Howsabout contacting me before engaging in blanket reversions? I have good reasons for not inflaming the actual debate that is going on over voting with a blanket statement that the voting matter is resolved. I am hedging my bets because this matter clearly isn't over yet. And steamrolling someone without any attempt at discussion isn't really ideal. Manning (talk) 04:25, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Left an explanation and an apology at my page. Am definitely sorry for any bad feelings caused. Manning (talk) 04:38, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
FYI - I tweaked the Signpost article to clarify about SecurePoll and the AUSC elections. Thanks for your input. Manning (talk) 06:47, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!

[edit]

Hi warofdreams!

The article 2003 Afro-Asian Games has been rated C-class under WikiProject Africa for quite some time. I really think that it is now ready to be rated B-class. If you think so as well, please do so.

Any suggestions for improvement are most welcome.

[1] DYKAdminbot doesn't like "$"; the template {{dollarsign}} has to be used. :-) Regards, —Ed (talkcontribs) 00:12, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's in the code for DYKAdminbot, which isn't really maintained outside of an ad-hoc basis...so probably not. —Ed (talkcontribs) 00:16, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Entrism and Fightback (Canada)

[edit]

Can you look at Talk:Fightback (Canada)? There is a dispute over whether the Canadian IMT (Grant/Woods) affiliate, Fightback, should be described as practicing entrism in the New Democratic Party of Canada. One editor, the main author of the article, insists that there must be a source that specifically says Fightback is entrist however the group is quite small and hasn't generated enough press or academic interest for such a source to come into existence. However, the fact that they are an IMT affiliate and are members of a social democratic party and the fact that the IMT is credibly sourced as being entrist should make this a no-brainer. I mean entrism is the IMT's whole modus operandi. 67.70.121.29 (talk) 14:00, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've replied to your comments at Talk:Fightback (Canada). 142.204.247.135 (talk) 18:48, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2010 WikiCup Signups Reconfirmation!

[edit]

To ensure that everyone who signed up is still committed to participating in the 2010 WikiCup, it is required that you remove your name from this list! By removing your name, you are not removing yourself from the WikiCup. This is simply a way for the judges to take note of who has not yet reconfirmed their participation. If you have not removed your name from that list by December 30th, 2009 (by 23:59 (UTC)) then your name will be removed from the WikiCup.

It's worth noting the rules have changed, likely after you signed up. The changes made thus far are:

  • Mainspace and/or portal edits will not be awarded points at all.
  • Did you know? articles (which were worth 5 points last year) will now be worth 10 points.
  • Good articles (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
  • Valued pictures will be now awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.
  • Featured lists (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
  • Featured portals (which were worth 25 points last year) will now be worth 35 points.
  • Featured articles (which were worth 50 points last year) will now be worth 100 points.
  • Featured topics (which were worth 10 points per article last year) will now be worth 15 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
  • Good topics (which were worth 5 points per article last year) will now be worth 10 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
  • In the news will still be awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.

If you have any final concerns about the WikiCup's rules and regulations, please ask them now, before the Cup begins to avoid last minute problems. You may come to the WikiCup's talk page, or any of the judge's user talk pages. We're looking forwards to a great 2010 WikiCup! On behalf of the WikiCup judges, iMatthew talk at 03:48, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mary of Woodstock

[edit]

Since you have the sources for this article, would you please check this series of edits? I'm not sure whether they fit the sources, especially since much material is added without any additional sources. Nyttend (talk) 18:30, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Last chance to confirm your WikiCup participation!

[edit]

Hi Warofdreams/2009! This is the last message that will go out to remind you that in order to participate in the 2010 WikiCup, you MUST remove your name from this list! Again, the reason for this reconfirmation is to ensure you've looked over the updated point values (which were different at the time you signed up) and to ensure that you are still interested in competing! If you don't have time to participate or no longer wish to, ignore this message and leave your name on the list. All names on the list will be removed from the contestants list before the Cup starts. Cheers! iMatthew talk at 14:31, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
