Your contributed article, Dakshina kannada Gowda
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Dakshina kannada Gowda. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Kodagu Gowda. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Kodagu Gowda – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. CombieTractor talk 12:00, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia from the Medicine Wikiproject!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia from Wikiproject Medicine (also known as WPMED).
We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of medical articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are interested in editing medical articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing Wikipedia articles are:
- Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on our talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the WPMED talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
- Sourcing of medical and health-related content on Wikipedia is guided by our medical sourcing guidelines, commonly referred to as MEDRS. These guidelines typically requires recent secondary sources to support information; its application is further explained here. Primary sources (case studies, case reports, research studies) are rarely used, especially if the primary sources are produced by the organisation or individual who is promoting a claim.
- Wikipedia is a kingdom full of a wide variety of editors with different interests, skills, and knowledge. We all manage to get along through a lot of discussion that happens under the scenes and through the bold, edit, discuss editing cycle. If you encounter any problems, you can discuss it on an article's talk page or post a message on the WPMED talk page.
Feel free to drop a note on my talk page if you have any problems. I wish you all the best on your wiki voyages!(and thank you for your edit to Ebola/west Africa) --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:27, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Puttur, Karnataka, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. In addition, please do not mark edits as "minor" when they are clearly not. [edit]Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Basques. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! [SVG Translation Campaign 2019 India] Feedback survey
[edit]Greetings,
Many thanks for participating in the SVG Translation Campaign 2019 in India. It had been quite a successful campaign—194 users from 19 Indic languages took part in the campaign for 38 days, and have created more than 2,500 SVG files, all of them having labels in native Indian languages. You may read the complete report of the campaign at https://w.wiki/3yn.
We would like to thank you again for translating SVG files as a part of this campaign, your contributions have given thousands of people the knowledge that they need the most. Now we would like to have your feedback about the overall campaign, how effective were the training sessions, the resources provided, the support etc.
Please fill the feedback survey at https://forms.gle/4TCicfYzjAGVvKTy6
Your responses are extremely valuable to us, and will be of immense help to understand further training needs or plan future activities in this area. Let us know if you have any questions.
Please note that 4 August 2019 is the last date to complete the survey. Regards, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Arebhashe dialect, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Canonical. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:07, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Blocked for sockpuppetry
[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 06:45, 11 February 2023 (UTC)ArbCom received convincing evidence that the editors listed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vishwanatha Badikana/Archive are not the same person. We are downgrading the blocks for each to a block for disruptive meatpuppetry, including edit warring, article hijacking, and what appears to be some promotional editing; as well as failing to understand how notability functions here (see WP:42 for a very brief overview). Any administrator may process an unblock request accordingly, taking into account the specifics of each users' participation prior to the SPI.
Vishwanatha Badikana, please review the guide to appealing the blocks and then either use the {{unblock}} template or use the unblock ticket request system to request an unblock (with a preference to the former). You will need to appeal individually from any other user in the group listed in the SPI case above. Izno (talk) 20:01, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Unblock Request
[edit]Vishwanatha Badikana (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Hi, I would like to request an unblock of my account. I want to clarify that I do not have multiple accounts, and I am an expert in linguistics, as well as a professor and folklorist. I have been editing articles related to the local culture of Tulu, Arebhashe, and Kannada language, as well as the Tulu people. I have a good understanding of Wikipedia's policies, and as the President of Karavali Wikimedians User group, an affiliate of WMF, I am committed to not engaging in any negative behaviors such as meatpuppetry, edit warring, article hijacking, promotional editing, or promoting false notability. I am eager to continue contributing to Wikipedia, and I hope you will consider lifting the block on my account. Thank you-Vishwanatha Badikana (talk) 07:37, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Your unblock request does not indicate any understanding of why you were blocked or what needs to change, just a copy and paste with an "I won't do it again". A convincing unblock request should indicate your understanding of what in specific you did that you shouldn't have, and of what you intend to do in the future instead of that. Seraphimblade Talk to me 06:32, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Vishwanatha Badikana (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Hi Seraphimblade, Please refer to the Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vishwanatha Badikana/Archive which has been resolved by the ArbCom, message posted by Izno above. I am not and do not represent multiple accounts, as evaluated by ArbCom. I have read and discussed the rules/policies of En.Wp with others from the community and have shared them with other members of the m:Karavali Wikimedians an affiliate of WMF for which I am the President. As part of my work, our small community and geographical location- we regularly introduce new users to our community, and it is possible it resulted in the inadvertent use of the same IP address. I have learned from this and acknowledge it. I assure you that I have not engaged in any disruptive behavior and I respectfully request to be unblocked, in line with the ArbCom recommendations and the information shared above. --Vishwanatha Badikana (talk) 13:10, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This unblock request addresses the technical aspect of the SPI, but does not address the behavioral issues that led to the investigation in the first place, and I assure you that I have not engaged in any disruptive behavior
indicates that you do not understand the issues that led to the block in the first place. The block log was amended to reflect this, which says disruptive meatpuppetry, including article hijacking and what appears to be some promotional editing, and failing to grasp WP:Nnotability
. This unblock request does not address any of these issues. Aoidh (talk) 11:31, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hello, Permit me to make it clear that there is absolutely no basis for the misinformation being spread about me and the other accounts using the alias "Wikipedia: Sockpuppet" and it has not been looked into. I participate actively in the Karavali Wikimedian User Group and the Tulu community. Although, indeed, a number of us—bankers, teachers, and tech administrators—moved to Mangalore, it's only because our places of employment are close by. We often get together for monthly gatherings as a close-knit community to talk about the growth of Wikimedia, the Wiki Movement, and any recent developments. All of the aforementioned accounts are owned by actual people who work together, co-create, and support the community. Furthermore, we have edited all of the articles I have supplied with the utmost care and attention to detail, and they are all relevant to our area of expertise. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- First, please quit pinging me on your new requests. I already declined one; I would not be the one to review any others. Someone else will. Secondly, use {{unblock}}, not {{unblock reviewed}}. If you use the latter, it will show up as an already-declined request, and will never be placed in the list of requests needing review at all. You'll need to fix that if you actually want your request to be seen and reviewed. Third, if ArbCom says you're not socks, then I'll take their word for it—that's not the issue, so continuing to bang on that is not going to work. But meatpuppetry is treated exactly the same as sockpuppetry, and regardless, promotional editing is not permitted. You'll need to address the fact that you were engaging in those things, not keep saying "But we're not socks!" when we already know that. You will still need to address, for example, how you plan to keep your editing separate from what your colleagues are doing, and how you plan to avoid introducing inappropriate material to Wikipedia again. If you just keep saying "I'm well-versed in Wikipedia's policies!", when you clearly are not and were violating many of them, I doubt that's going to convince anyone.
